    I know this is years later and hope I get a response, i have the exact same speakers and wanted to know the dimensions of the box please as I have never built one and really like.the look of yours and appreciate the fact you have stuck to the same dimensions recommended for the speaker. Many thanks. Subbed and liked 👍

      😂 Yea, almost forgot I built this one. Unfortunately I do not have the cut sheet for this enclosure anymore, but seen some specs in the comments. Thank you for commenting and the sub 👊🏽 If these #s don’t work for ya, just get me the measurements of the area you putting the box and I’ll run them for you 👌🏽

      H:14”

    This ported box was built to what Pioneer recommended. It may look big, but it's only 14" tall, 20" deep and 35" wide. After sub and port displacement, the box is right around the 1.6cf per chamber. As far as the RMS wattage goes, if you are referring to a previous comment I posted. These are just my experiences with car audio. In no way am I an expert or professional. But I have yet to burn up amps or blow subs, in any of my builds. Checkout my other vids.

    I tested my box on 150rms to each sub. POUNDED! You could put 500rms on 1 sub and never have a problem. Don't be fooled by what other people say. Low (RMS) that is clean power will sound better and will last longer. I never run full (RMS) to any of my subs and they always BEAT!

    with my pioneer the biggest improvement was inserting pet blanket in my box walls....bass was much cleaner

    • @210Designs
      @210Designs  8 лет назад

      Cool, never heard of that. I did read that poly-fill does help smooth the bass, in a ports box. How did you get the blanket stay inside? When using poly, they recommend using chicken wire, on the inside, to help keep it in. Thanks for the comment.

      Exactly, its a preference. This particular box did not belong to a customer, it was strictly a build I wanted to try. When I build for a customer, I use there preference of tuning, port and sub location. If I can offer a better build solution, I give them my input. " I build for fun, man ".

    I know you have already probably answered this. But what are the dimensions of the ports? I have the Pioneer w3003 subs and want to build my own box. Per the manual is says 1.5 cu.ft. nominal and 2.0 for deep. so this box would probably be perfect. How's it sound with your subs

    • @210Designs
      @210Designs  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks for watching and the comment! I've always wanted to try the new Pioneers, they changed up the design, but I'm sure they perform flawlessly. This box was built before is started keeping logs of each build. I know the port width is 2", but not real sure on the length. I used (reaudio.com/info/RE_box_calculator.php) to figure this box. It's a free on line program that works well. I did individual ports, because the manufacture recommended separate chambers. Not sure about the new model tho. I sold this setup shortly after it was built. A guy heard it and wanted it more than I did, lol. I recently bought back one of the original subs and now have it in a T-line box. That build and demo is on my channel, check it out if you get a chance. Let me know if you need any additional help.

      Thanks for watching my vid. I haven't used that model before, but the reviews are good. Depends on what typeof bass your looking for. Sealed will get you tight, quick responsive hard hitting bass and some good low end. Ported will have more boom to it and tend to be louder.

    • @210Designs
      @210Designs  9 лет назад

      +Ivan Pelser - If it were me, I'd go with an amp that has a higher rms rating than your subs total. (Example: 2 subs total 800rms. I'd look for an amp that is 1,000rms, at the ohm load you are wiring your subs down to). This way you don't have to push the amp to the max and risk clipping your subs, with a dirty signal. This will keep the amp cooler 👍🏽

      Infamous213 - You won't be disappointed with this sub at all. I have a newer vid on here, with it inside a T-line new box. Not at all man, 11.1 is 11-1/8".

      So its not 1/16th.. the first line on the ruler?

    • @210Designs
      @210Designs  7 лет назад

      Well, 1/8" is actually .125 and 1/16" is .0625. If your cutting the subwoofer hole out, using a jig saw, I'd go with the 1/16". That way you can trim more off if it's tight or if you don't stay on traced outline. Once it's cut, you can't add the material back to it, lol 👌🏾

      +Lee Coupland - I've got a few questions for ya. What type of music do you listen to? What is your amplifier gain, low pass and subsonic filter set on? How are the subs/box performing now? What type of bass are you looking for? What is the length of the L-shaped port? You said it was 4" at the end, so I'm assuming it is the same width all the way through? Thickness of box wood? Internal bracing? If you can answer most of these, we can get started my friend 👍🏽.

      hi BJ, I listen to mainly rap & r & b ,dubstep & drum and bass and ocasionaly rock music hard house sometimes, amp gain is set just over half way and ive tried to match the headunit whick has 4 volt pre outs, I think my subsonic is set a couple of hz below box tune but I have to guess it as theres no numbers and I don't have a smd dd1 etc to set it propley,low pass I keep playing around with between 100 hz and 40 hz , yes the port is 4" all the way through and stops a few inches from the second sub at a guess id say its around 17" long inside the box.thickness of wood is 1" or 25mm thick.i don't have any bracing inside the box.but I have lined the bottom and all the corners that I could get to with glass fibre resin and matting.im from the united kingdom and car audio outlets are crap well they are where I live anyway.

    Is any way you could design me a sub box for three of these sub with one port if possible

    • @210Designs
      @210Designs  9 лет назад

      Thanks for watching my vid bro 👍🏽. I'd be glad to help design a box for ya. Please keep in mind, I am not a professional, by any means. I do build boxes for people in my home town and surrounding areas. This is a hobby for me and something I do for fun. As long as your cool with that, I'll give it a shot......
      1. What are the maximum dimensions, of the area, you are putting the box?
      2. Do you want the port facing the same side as the subs?
      3. What tuning frequency do want the box?
      .....and anything else you can think of, that I have left out.
      Thanks again 👌🏾

      No I sure don't, but I will try and get ahold of one of my homeboys and see if he can locate one, I can measure up. What type of music do you listen to? This will help determine the box tuning. Do you want the subs facing up towards the trunk lid, back towards the tail lights or forward towards the back seat?

      Cool,
      I live in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. It's about 45 minutes south of Tulsa, on HWY75. I'll start working on this, once I get the measurements from the Caprice. I will keep you posted 👍🏽. If you have any further questions, just let me know.

    Hello .. Good evening! I'm doing a project and I'd like to know if you could send me the cutoffs so I can make one of these here where I live. Grateful for the attention and hope you can help me!

      Rodrigo Nunes - Thanks for watching and the question. I currently do not have the cutouts for this box anymore. If you get me the measurements of the area your box will go, I can figure you a cutout sheet.

More will be missing two pieces. Anyway thank you very much for the attention and I really liked the video, it gives you a sense of how I will do here! Good night and stay with God, my friend!
