Many thanks! It seems like all the Launchpad videos out there are either 7 hour marathons with a bunch of extraneous detail, or someone composing a song without offering any didactic value. This was super helpful!
7:13 just to be absolutely clear, you must click on Track #8 to see the Drum Rack view at the bottom
That's right. In order to access the controls for instruments and plug-ins added to a track from Session/Arrangement view, the track must first be clicked or 'in focus'.

I got the hip hop thing in and set up and the colors are on the launchpad but it’s not playing anything when I press the launchpad

I got it to do something at least 😅 still it's a way over complicated beat machine I would recommend getting something that has sounds preloaded into it that you can just hook up to your DJ booth

Ive tried everything that you explaind and even more, still cant find the way to get light feedback in user mode. Ive tried every channel, different preferences, yet the issue goes on. I have a Novation Launchpad Mini MK3
Whatever he said to make the buttons light up when you press them does not work
I've done all the steps to the actual PLAYING correctly (Where i'm able to play it, aka 3:31.), but I can't hear it. Why?
9:34 "and then this click will record on a loop" - which button do I have to a click to record on a loop?
In the Clip window at the bottom of the display in Ableton Live, you can switch on 'Loop', by pressing the dedicated Loop button.
how do i turn off the feature that makes everything in time
Are you referring to quantisation? This can be changed or switched off from the 'Record Warp Launch' tab within Ableton Live's Preferences.

I have a problem with mine it doesn't make sound I have followed everything you said and it not making anything sound except for a phew keys on the launchpad. Also it seemed to be sync but no sound at all.

Did you ever get this figured out? I have the same issue
After I press the record button I hear the click and play a rhythm but it's not looping like in the video. Any hint?
You just need to double-click to create a clip first then ensure that you have set up a count-in, as shown here. Then navigate to Options and ensure that 'MIDI Arrangement Overdub' is selected. Now, when you press Record, you can record quantised notes into the Clip and have it loop, as shown here.
Alternatively you can leave 'MIDI Arrangement Overdub' unselected and use the Session Record button rather than Record to achieve the same result.
3:44 i follow all the steps, but when i try to press any buttom of my lauchpad nothinng happends
Unfortunately I think it's a piece of junk I recommend people buy beat machines that have sound built into them so you
don't need the computer aspect
If half of your launchpad is lit up, what should you do?

hi! I am a high school teacher, I want to use launchpad to record my voice with a few effects (very few), and give students commands like: Be silent!, Seat down, Open your chromebooks, attention to the attendance... etc.. also i want to allow a designated button to my NINJA students... (that means the best students..) I have NOOOOOO IDEIA how to set all that up! HELLLPPP!!!!! HAHAHA
This is possible, but will require a Mac or Windows PC in order to run Ableton Live, that you can connect Launchpad to. Launchpad is purely a software controller. Our Support Team can explain how you can set this up - bit.ly/NovationSupport
