By placing Archers of the Eyes at the right distance from the Orange town center, they kill the ungarrisoned villagers instantly (without garrisoning again) so they can paralyze the Orange player for the rest of the game . Used other units to look after blue villagers who were respawning and I built a wall from the blue city wall to the southeast of the map blocking Yellow player.
I suck at microing with archers so I had to use camel cavalry, smashing the city walls with rams and slicing a path from east to west across the city. I didn't even realise there were so many more resources around the map. Might have made things a bit easier if I had scouted effectively. Edit1: I was very close to losing the game when my rams took out the central tower. It's high risk but it can be done.
21:10 They actually do rebuild their production buildings. The thing is, that Jerusalem on this map is such a huge city. They have every production building 5 -7 times (except castles) and they only rebuild stuff if they have less than 2. So if you spared the monasteries you could pretty much level down 70 % of the city with the AI rebuilding anything. The Hospitalers and the Knights Templars do advance to the Imperial age and also train trebuchets, but only after 1 hour of ingame time.
In actuality, Saladin did take around 15,000 slaves. People were allowed to buy their freedom, but many couldn't afford it. Though, to be fair, his takeover of the city was less bloody than the one in 1099.
Sources? He also let whoever wanted to leave with their belongings to do so, and did not massacre any of the women, children or religious leaders, unlike the first crusade which resulted in the streets filling with blood
villages can phase through cliffs in old AOE2 (CD) to chop trees, they also would at times chop down mountains because the game would think that the mountain was a type of tree.
So it seems console edition is bugged in this sense 🤔. I destroy the 4 towers located on the outerwall of the city but when taking down the one beside the church automatically destroys the church aswell 😪
