The tyranny, and most importantly the despair captured in this song makes for such immersive atmosphere. I wish there would be remixes and covers of it on RUclips.
Tricky: Help me! Help! Is somebody there? Help me out! (Me as a kid back then, feeling despair and hopeless, almost wanting to cry, trying to find Tricky until I found the key and his cell, feeling relieved and calming down.) Tricky: Fox, I lost you in the blizzard. Some Sharpclaw found me and threw me in that stinky cell! (While relieved, I also was a bit stern of why he had to wonder off in the blizzard when he should’ve stayed together with Fox in the first place and to don’t scare and worry me like that again!) Who else relates to this situation from the game? Feel free to reply!
I remember being 9 and reaching this place, thinking it was so scary and tragic. Then when I freed Tricky I thought he was stupid. Then I felt better and thinking maybe I can escape this bad place
If there’s a place called Hell, not even Solar would be considered as such. While fiery, Hell also has depictions of torture and hopelessness to those late whom were sentenced. This theme highlights the ambient feeling in this section.
@@EC42904 Rare really did lean hard into their old N64 samples for this track, didn't they? Makes me think this was written from the game when it was still Dinosaur Planet.
this soundtrack fits the atmosphere of the level so well
It's also pulling out a ton of old instruments from the N64 games, giving it that trademark Rareware sound.

This music reminds me of fire emblem fates conquest.
Eww, Fates. Boo. Hiss.
Haha
Hey, could you extend Darkice Mines while it's nighttime? And I forgot how good this game is despite some of the cringy moments.

MULTIPLAYER MOD?! explination please
This almost sounds like it would better fit a tomb than a mine.
Some ancient Krazoa barrow or something.
Bestnumbeone of all time
Sounds like Grunty is in there somewhere
I was playing this level last night and thought how reminiscent of Banjo Kazooie/Banjo Tooie this music was.

It sounds like the perfect theme for Hell. Either that or North Korean prison camps and labor camps.
Or 2020 in general.
Suddenly I'm flashing back to that one bit from King of the Hill, where Peggy dreams she went to Hell for impersonating a nun.
