As a motorcycle rider, the most important thing to know is: you go where you look. So always look THROUGH the corner and look at the spot you want to end up at. This goes hand in hand with target fixation. In a lot of accidents, you notice that the rider is looking at what it is trying to avoid and actually drives straight into it.

I had a racing wheel/pedal setup that I played Forza 6 with long before I had my license. It's incredible how much practicing on a "racing simulator" helped me understand things that regular/daily driving doesn't require.
I got a Logitech G923 4 months ago for Gran Turismo, when I first used it my feet wernt smooth, my hands wernt smooth, my focus was alright. I have noticed these past 4 months my throttle and brake input has gotten better, my steering has gotten better. I'm going to be 100% honest you just have to consistently practice and not give up eventually you'll teach yourself.
“Extend your field of vision”. Also classified in commercial vehicle driving school as “Aiming high on steering”. You always look out in front of you and establish your eye lead time, point of decision etc. Thought I started driving my e36 and e30 after I’d gone to commercial driving school. That proves it right here lol.
I would honesty like to see this same experiment on a “neutral” track neither of you guys have hella track time at. He has the “pro” advantage and he had home track advantage im a huge fan do it again lol
Great video. I wish they would teach these tactics in regular drivers Ed. Increasing your field of vision is something I learned a long time ago. I was taught how to drive by a police officer haha. They told me how important it was to always be thinking 1 step ahead. Eyes should be fixed farther down the road the more your speed increases. If everyone implemented that tactic during normal driving we would have a lot less accidents. Also cell phones, yeah don’t look at cell phones while driving. The moment I see someone do that all their driving credibility goes out the window. It’s like failing a test for not writing your name at the top. Immediately fail. Anyways I’m always looking to improve my driving skills, these techniques not only help you drive faster, but have saved my life on several occasions. The increased field of vision tactic has helped me avoid I don’t know how many accidents during daily drives. Excellent advice, great video.
Something you can use to your advantage is something called "target fixation." The way this helps is because when you look at something and walk or move in its direction your body will automatically move you to walk closer or move closer towards it, it also applies to driving and dirtbiking
This may work for cars but target fixation can be dangerous when riding motorcycles. It is true that if you fixate then that’s the direction you will go. That includes the ditch, telephone pole, the back end of the car in front of you, or the curb. You should always be scanning the area in front of you when riding on the street. I make mental notes constantly to myself to look around when riding because I am very prone to target fixating on the car in front of me rather than looking past it to see dangers ahead of that car.
These basics are similar to what is taught in a motorcycle track class - look far ahead, use smooth inputs (though the smooth feet are lower on the list), and apply throttle, braking and turning in a proportionate manner. Those habits are useful on the street, not only for going fast. In motorcycle classes, I don't remember anything about a string.
This is one of the best technical video i’ve ever wathced, you really did it seriously and explain & visualise easily. I think this is more beneficial for motocycle users since all techniques must be used whenever they get on a bike, even on a small scooter.
That's cool about vision. In art school we were taught "to look where your pencil is going to be not where it is". So to clarify we weren't "visualizing" we were physically "looking" at the point on the paper where our stroke "will end" not "would end".
Regarding the tyres and being smooth, the way I had it explained was to imagine someone passing you a heavy box. If they drop it into your hands, your hand will move down with the weight until you adjust to the weight of the box or it could even slip through your hands and drop it. However, if someone passes you the box and you have time to recognise how heavy it really is before taking the full weight of it, you’ll be steadier
That smooth braking technique took me more than one year to get right and I'm still making mistakes sometimes. Braking is one of the more difficult things to perfect in racing and it really makes the difference between average and good drivers.
Holy cow mike is the guy that drove me around drifting in a red z06 c6 corvette! That was so much damn fun this place is awesome. Incredible what these guy can do
I use a similar "string theory" when I coach in iRacing, but I create a relation between steering and brake, not steering and throttle. It's a little bit more radical :)
Love how you basically described truck driving when u went about improving your lap speeds . Look ahead, check. Smooth imput, check And I don't remember the third one but probably implemented in some way 2 😅

Whoa holy shit there's JPM, Rubens and Charles! Wow.
What's even better is a relative of DC at the very top!
David Coulthard?
@@DanielSilva-to8fo Yep. Fabian is a 2nd cousin.
I would honesty like to see this same experiment on a “neutral” track neither of you guys have hella track time at. He has the “pro” advantage and he had home track advantage im a huge fan do it again lol
I would really like to see this on an autocross course. Its crazy how much info your eyes have to process when blasting through a sea of cones.
In the lap times is so good to see Rubens there heheheh
And the boy Jeremiah is not to behind
O menino Jeremias é bom rapaz kkkkkkkk
8:23 is where the eye tracking part starts if you only came to this video for that like me.
thanks king
Basically the Exotics racing safety course before you have to go drive haha. It is a lot of fun there, great vibes
So much fun. Drove everything but I didn’t have the money to just lap and lap till I beat Gordon Ramsey’s time lol
Wow, I've been driving like a pro all my life without noticing
Basically every motorcycle rider that don't follow those simple rules end up injured or dead
@@Erickzy haha was thinking the same (motorcycle rider here)
Something you can use to your advantage is something called "target fixation." The way this helps is because when you look at something and walk or move in its direction your body will automatically move you to walk closer or move closer towards it, it also applies to driving and dirtbiking
But I always look at my crush and still can’t go talk to her smh
@@stephen_cs you got this king go get her
@@yomamaisaniceperson2707 thanks 🥲
Adhd fam are well aware walking into doors and tables because were too focused on them.
That string theory is a fantastic way to visualize exactly how braking vs steering works
Guy: not only do you need smooth feet, you need smooth hands.
Caption: smooth electronic music.
😂
5:01 bruh 😂 I thought something else (that blur)😂
They be watching quality content
this guy wearing J11's while he's racing in a gt3rs,
what a legend hahaha
This is one of the best technical video i’ve ever wathced, you really did it seriously and explain & visualise easily.
I think this is more beneficial for motocycle users since all techniques must be used whenever they get on a bike, even on a small scooter.
That's cool about vision. In art school we were taught "to look where your pencil is going to be not where it is". So to clarify we weren't "visualizing" we were physically "looking" at the point on the paper where our stroke "will end" not "would end".
Space jams go hard!!
0 dislikes, how it should be☺️
Regarding the tyres and being smooth, the way I had it explained was to imagine someone passing you a heavy box.
You're wearing some of the best 11's ever made. Cars and Jordans are my favorite things.
The soundtrack for this episode goes so hard
Never would I ever have thought to wear Space Jams to a track day 😂
I wouldn't have thought to wear a hat backwards inside.

LOVE so much you brought up eyes. It is the single hardest thing to coach.

Or deliver tofu on mountain pass for 5 years in a 128 hp corolla
Chill out with them space jams homie im already getting naked
I use a similar "string theory" when I coach in iRacing, but I create a relation between steering and brake, not steering and throttle. It's a little bit more radical :)
Love how you basically described truck driving when u went about improving your lap speeds .
Look ahead, check.
Smooth imput, check
And I don't remember the third one but probably implemented in some way 2 😅
