Judges have been underscoring Kelly since the ASP's last few years.
Slater unquestionably won this heat. The WSL is just farcical at this point.

I would say Robbo had the best wave of the heat. Outside of that, he got overscored on the 7 and 6. I think Kelly should have taken this by half a point or so. More good waves by the goat.

A message was sent to Kelly by the wsl in this one. Message as I read it is " you might be the best surfer today but your not going to cherry pick events as we've got a formula to promote and you're to old for us to include in it".

Understanding the “new rules of the game” of the WSL Judges, I believe that Kelly only won the Hawaii stage in 2022, as it was the first of the year, and his result would be “diluted” throughout the entire circuit and thus would not affect the ranking of any of the top 5 “scheme”. This means, that if the Pipeline stage was in the middle or after the “cut” of the New Format of the circuit, and its result could change the ranking of the top 5, I believe that even having been the best in the event as it was in this heat , the judges used the “new rules” to control the result.

Inspiring surfing by both! Except for the tube ride by the Goat, mostly turns & cutbacks though beautifully performed as usual with Kelly's inimitable style. More variation & risk brought to the table by Robinson & an unequivocal win. Great surf, which no doubt, is appreciated by both the competitors & spectators.

Entendendo as “novas regras do jogo” dos Juízes da WSL, acredito que o Kelly somente ganhou a etapa do Hawai em 2022, pois ela era a primeira do ano, e o seu resultado seria “diluído” ao longo de todo o circuito e assim não afetaria a classificação de nenhum dos 5 preferidos do “esquema”.
Isso significa, que se a etapa de Pipeline fosse no meio ou após o “corte” do Novo Formato do circuito, e o seu resultado pudesse alterar a classificação dos 5 primeiros, acredito que ele mesmo tendo sido o melhor no evento como foi nessa bateria, os juízes tiram usado as “novas regras” para controlar o resultado.

Kelly’s boards are letting him down. Didn’t hold through bottom turns well. Releases water good off the top on the right angle but just doesn’t look as good and makes him surf too stiff.
Why give Kelly a wildcard if you are going to underscore every good wave. Kelly won this heat that’s clear as day however, maybe someone could argue the other way without looking nuts but the Jon Jon thing is a travesty that seems like a full fledged blatant finger to all surf fans around the world.
It must be toxic to surf as ugly and off-rhythm as Robinson did and still be gifted a heat against the best surfer of all time, who performed with beautiful flow, timing, and connection to the wave.
If he feels proud about it, he must really not know much about surfing as a form of art.

Throw in some Filipe, Jordy, + any pro when they are ripping ., but holy balls watching JJF get robbed harder that I’ve ever seen anyone robbed, and watching Slater lose by fractions, when he clearly should have won., ugh. Lemme know when we get to Chopes. Also, can we see all the pros surf please ? A little tired of all the “Rabo / RCall” over excitement. Love when those guys are ripping and winning , but Would like to see all pros involved please.

Robbos 6 was a 5.17… slaters last wave was the score regardless - but shd have already been in the lead and not even needed a score at that point. WSL judges are a joke
