I think there needs to be a GTA IV Expanded and Enhanced Project that fixes all of the PC bugs, performance issues, missing content, fixes visual errors, restores console gamma, effects, shadows, etc. An all in one mod to rule them all with many options and fixes. Some tweaks to gameplay that can be modifed. A true faithful as possible remaster. We have fusion fix and stuff but we need more
i think the best we could really do, unless someone truly felt like creating one singular mod that did everything, is what other games have and just have a big mega modpack. basically just unzip something into your gta folder and it will just work and have everything really needed
@@ThaPugster Problem with modpacks is usually people cram in them a load of features without the option to disable them for people who like to tinker with everything to their liking. The second problem is specific to IV as up to this day there is still drama over which version we are supporting when it comes to mods, with the powerhouse modders being essentially split between v7/8 and CE

I very want personal car feature in liberty tweaks. Something simple like saving car on any key, adding blip on map, and these vehicle never disappear, even after exit the game. Parameters , color, position, rotation, saves in ini or dat file, and loads on startup
there is one more thing i find unrealistic about the police in gta that they just always keep spawning like there's an infinite cops in LC... my recommendation is, can you make the cops comes in waves like in real life? where if you wipe out a wave of cops, you have a 10 or 15 seconds before the next wave of cops come to your recent known location.....
Mod suggestion: A mod that improves the Gruppe Sechs robberies. I would love it if the guards were armed and there were 2 in the back who will fire on you when you're near the back. Also make it so they still try to escape, i dont want them to just stop.

The only thing that bugs me is the voice lines: in vanilla, Niko's tone of voice will change by factors like stress and wanted level. in those clips, Niko and Johnny seem too relaxed for whats going on.
That's a great idea! Maybe it should only work in some super cars, muscle cars, etc., even perhaps gang vehicles. But the cars probably shouldn't have nitro 100% of the time.

I tried again recently but just found it a little confusing 😕 I'll give it another go but I'm not exactly sure what order/mods or videos to watch and in what order they should ideally be done ... if that makes sense. Absolutely love the passion you have to keep this game alive!

[1:05] I do wish the weapon models change when you reload, like the M4 would actually have it's magazine removed until Niko inserts a new one. I still love this mod regardless, especially the added recoil effects on the weapons
I have questions about the mod: - Does the recoil feature include EFLC Weapons and also Revamped Combat add-on Weapons or add-on weapons in general? - Will be an updated feature where the peds have their category config like Gangs, Police, Swats, and FIBs where they have depending on amount accurate and fire rate not just all peds doing same stats. - How about the FIBs? They have the same stats as Swats did. I just wonder would be the ability of FIBs be had in the future. Overall Essential Mod
- The recoil includes all vanilla weapons, including EFLC ones. I do need to make it so you can add weapons to it, because currently addon weapons (like those from Revamped Combat) will not have recoil, which is no bueno 😾👎 - It wasn't planned before but that's a great idea - If I could think of anything fitting for the FIB, yeah I'd do it. I don't like the lack of ragdolling for them. I actually had a script that made every pedestrian have a chance to not ragdoll from bullets but then I quickly realized how buggy it gets. I almost didn't do it for the NOOSE. You should ram them when they have armor, shit looks like San Andreas. If you have any suggestions for the FIB I'm down to hear it thanks for the feedback
I installed it but you have to start a new game or the game will break with your previous save games. The best is to follow TJGM's guide, I modded the complete edition with 4 mods only. Go check the video.
There are more "author's features" than the real fixes of the game. I don't think this is bad, but... You didn't fix the game as title says, you made it feels different.
I think i can give more ideas to the modder. If you see my comments section * Health regenerate system is cool, but make it similar like gta 5 when the health is regenerated to 50% instead of 25% * Increase mini-map size and when niko is driving or flying the map change to slanted perspective similar like gta 5 make it much easier to see the route * checkpoint system when failing the mission instead of respawn at the hospital and doing all the missions from the start, you can retry the game again using checkpoint mod I believe gta tlad and tbogt has this feature already idk * Friends hang out... the most annoying things when you meet a friend. The game will force you to bring them back home even if you hang with them at alongquin or Alderley... Most of your friends' houses are in broker with the help of mod you can simply drop them at nearby place etc restaurants, hotel or even a sidewalk * better reward after 100%. idk if the modder can fix this, but gta 4 has the worst reward, plus 9999 ammo is a bug. This is my take of what gta 4 100% reward is supposed to be - infinite ammo similar like gta sa - infinite stamina and swimming - special oufit - special car etc, fib buffalo or else park near a safehouse - vehicle deal double damage - niko health regenerate back to full instead of 25% when idle - every time players start or reload the game, niko will receive body armour - you can always use your friends' special ability That all lemme me if you like my 100% reward 😊
Late response but you have a lot of cool stuff here. * I actually did the health regeneration thing already. You heal to 25% in combat, then 50% outside of combat * The minimap thing I will try to do for 1.6, potentially. I have a ton of things on my list of things to do, so it may be a late addition * Checkpoint system would be cool, and you are right, TBoGT has it. If the system they used in TBoGT works in IV, it may be possible * I'm not sure how I could do the hangout thing * I agree. I plan on implementing a progression system into the game, focused on Stamina & Weapons. 100% completion would reward the player with unlimited stamina, faster reloading, faster running, and I could do a proper infinite ammo thing * Special outfits, I wanted do one similar to Sleeping Dogs, as if I remember correctly you could get a lot of stuff from police trunks. I was thinking of making it so if you complete all vigilante missions, you could grab a police outfit from the trunk & have never wanted, or something similar. I want some sort've interesting buff from this outfit. I wouldn't be able to add it to the vanilla wardrobe tho. no one knows how to do that yet * I will probably avoid special vehicle spawns for the time being. the game has enough as is * Not sure what you mean by vehicles deal double damage, but if you mean hitting someone causes them to do damage, maybe I'll look into that one * I intentionally avoided 100% health regen, as it makes health packs pretty useless as they're placed in already bad locations imo. i mean that in the sense that they're not always placed in combat-heavy spots * the armor on spawn thing as a 100% completion reward would be pretty cool i think * I dunno how to do that as of yet either
So I do like some of these ideas and some i feel should be tweaked to a certain extent. I do really like the wanted star levels going lower even in the circle when you hide as far as changing the game.
Most outstanding, after all those years of not waiting. Shouldn't brake lights engage only on incline and decline roads? I'm sure you have many features in the forge and more planned but I give it a try with what i hope are some new ideas: -make flyby traffic civilian helicopters spawn an actual civilian pilots instead of a cop. -allow window cleaning elevators spawn on the top of the building when player is above street/ground alltitude, or just make them recallable from the other end. -make pedestrians not step out of the way when player is jogging / slow running. -make niko quit red line reving the first gear.
not entirely sure what you mean with the incline/decline thing. if you mean you can be stationary without having to brake, yeah that's true. but even in a manual i brake on non-slopes more often than not. at least in a city, in traffic. some people may not notice you're stopped otherwise but yeah, these are good suggestions. dunno how i can do the 2nd one, but that would be useful and niko won't redline when using a controller. to be honest one of the worst things about using kb&m are things like this. ground movement too, sucks
@@catsmackaroo Different drive styles and enviroments. Myself, in city I always disengage gears, use foot break only to slow down and handbreak to keep me in place on slopes so anytime I can I rest my legs. Come to think of this it is all really up to the preference.
brakes when stopped isn't entirely correct, it's possible to be stationary without brakes... what I would love to see is double tap to reverse tho, so you could hold the brakes manually when stopped.

i really like the features included here but when i downloaded this mod i was suddenly in alderney when the game loaded (i had only just unlocked algonquin) next to a personal vehicle i hadn't saved with a six star wanted level
why would the brake lights be on if you're stopped? you're not holding S anymore ingame which IS supposed to simulate the brake. so it's more like niko has the handbrake on
Somewhat unrelated, but when I finished TLAD I was pretty content with how cool calling for bikes and the new gun van was, and got disappointed that I havent found a mod that can bring those features from the DLC into base GTA 4. Isn't there a mod that lets you use the features from the DLCs in the base game? Just so I can keep the whole "free roam as a badass biker" going because there's shockingly little content in TLAD. If there is some mod like that out there already lemme know, the trainer I put on doesn't import phone contacts from the DLC into the base game, though it can force the guns in, which is still a bit pointless since you can't naturally buy those guns in-game.
Is this working, or are there plans to make it work the Complete Edition? Also, if it does work, is it possible to install it while using DXVK and Fusion?
This all sounds so awesome. GTA 4 and TBOGT (screw TLATD, didn't like it) were in my opinion the last truly ground breaking and great GTA's made. The same team who made this and the previous 3 aren't even the same team working on 6 so I'm not ever bothered to get hyped about it, although rumour has it Dan wrote the story for it before he left so maybe at least it might have an OK story. But I want to play a fun game, not watch a movie, like how I felt playing RDR2 (boring game, cool interactive movie though).
rather than the ammo going to the shadow realm when you reload a partially expended magazine, how about you have it goes into a pool that niko has to compartmentalize into magazines with an action that can't be undertaken when in combat or under a wanted level?
Two questions- could you compile these in a modpack? Also, I have the rockstar launcher version of GTA4 complete edition, and I cannot find a single guide on how to mod this version of the game, only the steam. Do you have a guide on how to do this?
How does the mod address pocket reloading? If that mechanic is still in the game it'll be even more exploitable since there's the whole "lose your magazine when you manually reload" thing now.
So, do I need to ditch script hook completely for this mod? Or can I combine IV SDK as a separate script file with scripthook and its .asi file still on the main directory?
"Whenever you stop, your brake lights should be on" isn't quite true - what if you're in park, or in a manual with the clutch in, or in-gear with the parking brake on? You could even be in neutral with the parking brake on in an automatic, though that would be unusual

I had a little bit of programming experience in the past with only a few languages, like python, html, javascript, and some c#. all before starting LibertyTweaks. but it was so little, i barely count it. Liberty Tweaks is the only programming thing I had a genuine interest in & actually learned from. Anyway, really you could only know the languages' basics and you could get started. but you will of course develop some bad habits, but that's just anything in life. as long as you're aware and open to doing things a different way, you'll be okay. C# is the most common .NET language out there and is what we personally use with Liberty Tweaks, which is by utilizing IV SDK .NET. This means there's dozens of things you could learn from on the web. I am indeed one of the devs of the mod. It should be compatible with arrest warrant, but you should disable the police changes this mod makes to ensure no conflictions occur
I already put the clonk andre library files and the IV SDK files in the game directory but there is no readme that specifies where to put it, so I just extract and put the folders in but nothing worked There is also no config files for IV SDK so idk what I'm doing wrong here, can you help?

If you partial reload, then you should be able to fire 31 bullets since there's a round left in the chamber.
Rage Engine really doesn't set the guns up well for that, I mod RDR 2 and tried to implement 1 in the chamber, much harder than you think

* I agree. I plan on implementing a progression system into the game, focused on Stamina & Weapons. 100% completion would reward the player with unlimited stamina, faster reloading, faster running, and I could do a proper infinite ammo thing
* Special outfits, I wanted do one similar to Sleeping Dogs, as if I remember correctly you could get a lot of stuff from police trunks. I was thinking of making it so if you complete all vigilante missions, you could grab a police outfit from the trunk & have never wanted, or something similar. I want some sort've interesting buff from this outfit. I wouldn't be able to add it to the vanilla wardrobe tho. no one knows how to do that yet
* I will probably avoid special vehicle spawns for the time being. the game has enough as is
* Not sure what you mean by vehicles deal double damage, but if you mean hitting someone causes them to do damage, maybe I'll look into that one
* I intentionally avoided 100% health regen, as it makes health packs pretty useless as they're placed in already bad locations imo. i mean that in the sense that they're not always placed in combat-heavy spots
* the armor on spawn thing as a 100% completion reward would be pretty cool i think
* I dunno how to do that as of yet either

So I do like some of these ideas and some i feel should be tweaked to a certain extent. I do really like the wanted star levels going lower even in the circle when you hide as far as changing the game.

I'm sure you have many features in the forge and more planned but I give it a try with what i hope are some new ideas:
-make flyby traffic civilian helicopters spawn an actual civilian pilots instead of a cop.
-allow window cleaning elevators spawn on the top of the building when player is above street/ground alltitude, or just make them recallable from the other end.
-make pedestrians not step out of the way when player is jogging / slow running.
-make niko quit red line reving the first gear.
not entirely sure what you mean with the incline/decline thing. if you mean you can be stationary without having to brake, yeah that's true. but even in a manual i brake on non-slopes more often than not. at least in a city, in traffic. some people may not notice you're stopped otherwise
but yeah, these are good suggestions. dunno how i can do the 2nd one, but that would be useful
and niko won't redline when using a controller. to be honest one of the worst things about using kb&m are things like this. ground movement too, sucks
@@catsmackaroo Different drive styles and enviroments. Myself, in city I always disengage gears, use foot break only to slow down and handbreak to keep me in place on slopes so anytime I can I rest my legs. Come to think of this it is all really up to the preference.
One thing I've noticed in my game is that during cutescenes it zooms in indefinitely into one spot until the scene cuts

brakes when stopped isn't entirely correct, it's possible to be stationary without brakes...
what I would love to see is double tap to reverse tho, so you could hold the brakes manually when stopped.

Brake lights are on becuase you hold brake pedal..it's common in automatic gear cars becuase ppl are lazy shift to neutral for some reason.

why would the brake lights be on if you're stopped? you're not holding S anymore ingame which IS supposed to simulate the brake. so it's more like niko has the handbrake on

Somewhat unrelated, but when I finished TLAD I was pretty content with how cool calling for bikes and the new gun van was, and got disappointed that I havent found a mod that can bring those features from the DLC into base GTA 4. Isn't there a mod that lets you use the features from the DLCs in the base game? Just so I can keep the whole "free roam as a badass biker" going because there's shockingly little content in TLAD. If there is some mod like that out there already lemme know, the trainer I put on doesn't import phone contacts from the DLC into the base game, though it can force the guns in, which is still a bit pointless since you can't naturally buy those guns in-game.
Is this working, or are there plans to make it work the Complete Edition? Also, if it does work, is it possible to install it while using DXVK and Fusion?
This all sounds so awesome. GTA 4 and TBOGT (screw TLATD, didn't like it) were in my opinion the last truly ground breaking and great GTA's made. The same team who made this and the previous 3 aren't even the same team working on 6 so I'm not ever bothered to get hyped about it, although rumour has it Dan wrote the story for it before he left so maybe at least it might have an OK story. But I want to play a fun game, not watch a movie, like how I felt playing RDR2 (boring game, cool interactive movie though).
rather than the ammo going to the shadow realm when you reload a partially expended magazine, how about you have it goes into a pool that niko has to compartmentalize into magazines with an action that can't be undertaken when in combat or under a wanted level?
Two questions- could you compile these in a modpack? Also, I have the rockstar launcher version of GTA4 complete edition, and I cannot find a single guide on how to mod this version of the game, only the steam. Do you have a guide on how to do this?
How does the mod address pocket reloading? If that mechanic is still in the game it'll be even more exploitable since there's the whole "lose your magazine when you manually reload" thing now.
So, do I need to ditch script hook completely for this mod? Or can I combine IV SDK as a separate script file with scripthook and its .asi file still on the main directory?

"Whenever you stop, your brake lights should be on" isn't quite true - what if you're in park, or in a manual with the clutch in, or in-gear with the parking brake on? You could even be in neutral with the parking brake on in an automatic, though that would be unusual

What are some skills people would have to learn in order to mod gta iv?
modding
I had a little bit of programming experience in the past with only a few languages, like python, html, javascript, and some c#. all before starting LibertyTweaks. but it was so little, i barely count it. Liberty Tweaks is the only programming thing I had a genuine interest in & actually learned from. Anyway, really you could only know the languages' basics and you could get started. but you will of course develop some bad habits, but that's just anything in life. as long as you're aware and open to doing things a different way, you'll be okay.
C# is the most common .NET language out there and is what we personally use with Liberty Tweaks, which is by utilizing IV SDK .NET. This means there's dozens of things you could learn from on the web. It'll be a long journey but it's a worthwhile one if you really want it
you could have big cojones and head straight for C++ with either PluginSDK or IV SDK. ultimately it's up to you. good luck, and remember projects like Liberty Tweaks are made open-source so people can learn from them in the future, and even add onto them if wanted

I am indeed one of the devs of the mod. It should be compatible with arrest warrant, but you should disable the police changes this mod makes to ensure no conflictions occur
I already put the clonk andre library files and the IV SDK files in the game directory but there is no readme that specifies where to put it, so I just extract and put the folders in but nothing worked

I wonder if this euphoria glitch in 3:56 can be fixed. This happens when the euphoria is activated while the npc holds a two-handed weapon.

@@catsmackarooi have a thought of fixing the auto-centering, maybe installing Extra Options by Zolika and slightly increasing the FOV but not too much, just subtle can fix the auto-centering while walking or running, thats just my idea.
