One of my favorite rides there. Remember the company motto on the wall, right before you got on? Something like "If we don't get you there in 30 minutes or less, you don't get there at all!"
I know I'm in the minority but I honestly enjoyed this. It had that frantic in the dark runaway "no idea where I am going" feel. It was fun. When I rode it in 2001 I remember it being pitch black basically though.
The first time I rode it was in 1996, where most of the effects were still functioning. Agreed, an Arrow bobsled coaster in the dark is a good mix of thrills, since it feels like the train is out of control. My second time riding this was in 2007, but the overall experience was far more underwhelming at the time. The overall ride was the same, but the sci-fi wow factor was gone.
I remember it doing so the first time I rode on it, but it didn’t do so the second time. Wonder if that broke as well, as I read that there was a lot of special effects on that ride that broke over time.
My first trip to the point was the same year that DT debuted. I did not know until just a few days ago that it was simply another ride that was enclosed and rebranded!
Technically, Cedar Point did not have to remove nearby Space Spiral as they could have built Gatekeeper around it, but the main reason it was removed was due it becoming increasingly unpopular.
Bobsled rides are really neat to me. I wish they were more popular. Adding the space mountain aesthetic was a nice touch. Unfortunately, I remember this ride being pitch black and the coolest part was the line. At least this ride was different.
i wish i’d gotten one last chance to ride this before it closed down, but sadly, it was torn down and replaced with gatekeeper when i went back to ride it.
Wow, they actually had the lights working for the POV on the worlds slowest lift hill? Disaster Transport was a good name for this ride as everything about it was a disaster. Avalanche Run you'll be missed.
I loved this ride. It was spooky and filthy. But most importantly: it was air conditioned
Most important
Everybody mainly went their for the air.
Yup only spot to cool off in the whole park yo
It was but if I remember right, the lift hill was hotter than 7 hells.
Welcome to Alaska!

Looks like a camera moving through someones intestine.

I loved it too. Especially the music in the queue
Does anyone else remember this ride saying "We're losing control!". I think of that on a daily basis.

Yes I do remember ! It made the ride that much better!
Absolutely! My sister and I say it all the time.
Yes!... I hate they got rid of this ride it was my favorite!
Yes! Best part!
We miss ya proper, you creaky, confusing, old bucket of bolts.
So confusing. We are losing altitude.
This will always be better than Gatekeeper. So much charm and a very solid ride.
I have a vivid memory of the sound of the lift hill, one of my favorite rides as a kid
the frikin lift takes forever
This was my favorite ride, nice and cool when it was 105 degrees outside.
Loved this ride.
This ride was so cool just ascending into darkness was great
This was my favorite plus the wait in line was the most comfortable
i remember like 7 years ago when this was the only ride i was aloud to be on. im 11 now and still haven't been back
ninja frost sword they took it down a couple years ago for gatekeeper i think
Yup, it's gone.
I remember getting in the same seat you were in when you got off. There was pee all over the place.

welcome to Alaska! for reasons!

Rollasters are crazy nuts now
I rode it when it was only a few years old. It was pretty impressive in its prime. And the air conditioning was very nice.

Anyone else got technologic vibes in the beginning
Please Cedar Point make a new Dark Ride 🙏

I wish I could’ve been there to experience the ride.
i wish i’d gotten one last chance to ride this before it closed down, but sadly, it was torn down and replaced with gatekeeper when i went back to ride it.

Cedar Point sure needs another dark ride
I never got to ride this, but the first coaster I rode was the one that takes its place.
#gatekeeper and his Pal #xfligth
nostalgia
I've never been on this, or been to any amusement park in Ohio... but this sounds like a coaster on Half-Life sfx.
The old ride
what happened to the theming there literally is none anymore
Well I appreciate the nostalgia and stuff but that was dull
that noise is the background...
**CRINGE**
Matthew Harrill Ikr!!! It’s been doing that since the beginning of the video.
Watching this video makes me smell dust 😆
The year it opened I waited 4hrs in line for 45 seconds of blackness.... WORST DISAPPOINTMENT EVER!
Rise of the Resistance is a total ripoff of this ride.
That video was as lame as the real ride.
Welcome to Alaska!
