I discovered this channel recently and Ho My God. What an actual great console. It's so good compare to others ones and this one is so original, I never expected to see a console on a deltoids tin, and it's so nice to see that you still updating it. Good job dude, honestly amazing.
Had a similar thing happen to me. Thought I was gonna completely mess it up. I used the practice boards before doing the actual thing and now I have a fully working MintyPi. It's really all about practice.
Yeah, that's what happened on my first attempt back when it was the 2.5 version. So, you could do what I did and have someone more tech savvy build it for you. If you know where to look there are people who are willing to do it, at least for the right price.
Honestly, as cool as this is, it's not worth the hassle in my opinion. You can buy a New 2DS XL and install retroarch on it for a similar or slightly higher price than this thing, no soldering or assembly required, and have a better experience. Most PS1 games run at full speed, with N64 Emulation on the way. What's the appeal of this?
I really love the concept and I want to make my own mintypi lite but this is so expensive... $50 for the kit I can understand but $35 for 3D printed parts ?! I'm sorry but it doesn't feel honest to me
I hope this doesn't come across as defensive on my part, but I wanted to answer this. :) There is a solid-color option for $25 (I can't produce the multicolor ones nearly as quickly so that's why they are extra). That's actually cheaper than lots of 3d printing services out there (I checked, and that's what I based the prices off of). Plus, the STL files are out there so you can have a friend print them, if you like.
@@wermy Oh the STL files are out ? then my bad I fought it was only for Patreon supporters. I actually have a 3D printer so I might be able to make my mintypi now thanks man👍
I don't understand how people are able to play PlayStation on their Raspberry Pi Zeros... Mine can't even play fairly easy to emulate SNES games without starting to get choppy. I ended up just switching to the raspberry pi 3 a+ in my handheld (not the mintypi) it sticks out all dumb looking and eats the battery up but at least I can play some N64 games as well.
Randomblock1 yeah but people have made handhelds with the rpi 3b+ so I’m sure with some time, we could make one for rpi4 the only issue would be the cooling
Silly question here perhaps. I got my 3D printed parts today, they arrived in the mailing envelope with a 3D printed blue shell, slightly bigger than the Altoids case itself. I assume this is strictly for shipping protection? As I've not seen it in any of the vids or anything if I recall. Any ETA on when Helier will have the MintyPi Lite boards ready? It'd suck if I bought everything beforehand and then never had access to the actual insides.
Any chance there'll be a solid retro gray option for the 3D printed parts? The only one in the shop right now is multi color. Thanks! Love your work! 😁
Hey. I know I'm a little late to the party, but by any chance do you have any more of the electronic parts? I have been following for a while and I missed out on the first wave, and now the second, so if you have any more?
Hi, I'm a 14-year-old boy and I would like to have one of those consoles, which are very good, but unfortunately I don't have the money or the economy to buy one or make one myself since the parts of the console are difficult for me to get and I would like to to know if you would do a draw as you did to get around that console last year, but I didn't have the opportunity to win, I wish you could do another draw and have the chance to win.
Wow, I'm early. The last time I was this early... Actually nvm, I can't even make a legit joke, bc it was actually earlier this afternoon, with MDB's Pokémon Red With Only Machop run
I have the mintypi v3 and I'm wondering how do I get the optimized pcsx re-armed that's shown in the video?
Is there a way to get a screen for the mintypi v3 anymore?

Can you restockthe mintyPi v3s? I want a mintyPi, but not the lite version. Thanks!
whats the difference between v3 and lite?
is anyone else worried that the pi is gonna become a bit too expensive for a affordable computer?
Dude the raspberry Pi zero is like 10-30$
i love your vids
Would you ever make one with a analog stick
Can someone tell me if it can play n64, ps1, and psp?
Nice
Fantastic

Are you planning on putting out updated MintyPi software for the Raspberry Pi Zero 2?

من اشتري جهاز من sodo shop ينطيني جهاز كامل لو قطع و اركبهن
Frogger is my favorite =)
I wish there was a handheld project like this for the pi 4
Pi 4 needs more power, is heavier, and more expensive. You don’t need that much power for emulation, which is why the Zero is perfect.

Hello. It is possible to connect the mintypi in to the tv?
is there a presoldered version I can buy?
Someday I want a rassberry Pi 4 portable
put a mintypi for sale on your sudomod shop
4th lol
is it possible to add l2 and r2 buttons

Can I buy one already made
Would replacing my Nintendo Switch’s old battery with the new one work? Please answer
you should make altoids 3D were instead of pixel games there are of course 3D games and it should also have a analog stick.
How do I buy one of these
Can I get one please

The pcb's are out of stock :/ can't wait for helder to get them back in ❤
Can you flip the switch once the screen turns white or wait a second or two?
Is it possible to add a HDMI outlet to it like the cart boy counsel?
I ordered like 2 sets of 3 of those test boards.....well worth the money
Could you use external controllers, EG Xbox or ps?

Looks like there are still plenty available on Helder's site: www.heldergametech.com/shop/mintypi/mintypi-lite-pcb-kit/
is the screen a 60 hz one ?
Probably, but most games will run at 30fps Bc they are old
Is that, multi color buttons!!!
Wow this is so awesome and cool😎
will this software update work with the v3?
no
Suggestion can yall do one that requires zero soldering that would be really nice
If it involves a pi zero, it won't happen? The zero is designed specifically for embedded systems like this
The could just go ahead and buy the Pi’s, solder them, then include in new price
How did you get the texture for the visible printed parts?
????
The heated baseplate that the printer lays the plastic down on, so this is only possible on one side of any printed material.
Very interesting.
nice
👍👍👍
“Hey, would you like a mint?”
“Oh sure, thanks er........................”
