Finally, v3! Also, those transitions were so sick.
I agree
Zaketh yup, wanted to say something like this
I was waiting for them to try to slim the 3b and smush it in there. TT THATS IT I'M DOING IT MASELF!(maybe)
I have a question I would like to play multiplayer but I don't know if I can use it for that
@@JordanCardona Wdym like each person has a mintypi and they play on their own mintypis or multiple controllers on one
always wanted one of these, but the soldering work made me shy away from it, now I'm 160 dollars poorer but I'm finally going to have a minty pi to play at work.
does it work with recalbox?
Which guide do I follow to build the V3? I’m looking to buy it but I would like to know which guide is the most similar to the V3 build.
Where can I buy a pre made one
once pre orders are sent out there will probably be a lot for sale in March (even mine)
Abel Hernandez I’ve found two on eBay at the moment
For those that are wondering this will run you ~$160 USD for all parts plus or minus shipping costs. A bit steep for a handheld but understandable since it's a small hobby project and it's hard to scale with cost. It's brilliant nonetheless. I may get it. Maybe...
If he uploads the stl files for the 3d printed stuff, the price should go down to 110-20ish including shipping. *that is, if you have access to a 3d printer*
Hanz Azazel I recommend you look up “Game Pi 2”. It’s another raspberry pi project however it uses a 3b. It sadly doesn’t have a claim shell design tho.
Nostalgia really makes some folks quite a bit of money. Hey, more power to them! Entrepreneurship rules!
It's better than the soulja boy handheld.
True but you control the software going in and know the hardware. You can get a cheap Chinese made emulator handheld but those things are held together with Elmer’s glue and luck most of the time.
Also those transitions are dope
I'm quite impressed to see how much this project has advanced
I just stumbled on your channel. This is absolutely amazing. you're a gift from god. instant subscribe...
i cant believe ive never seen this until now. this needs to be marketed to the mass. Please keep doing what youre doing :D
absolutely incredible. I've been following this project since v2 and I always have loved the concept. Very cool to see how far it's come!
Just imagine somebody walking by with headphones connected to a mint box
Finally the third version. Can't wait for the build guide!
What an awesome project! I love the features you added. Very impressive.
This is awesome! Didn't even realize there was a new version. All the new features look amazing too.
So this is better than the Retro Souljaboy Mini?? :O!
of course
soulja anything are basically heavily markup of cheap chinese junk thats on aliexpress which does not perform remotely well with even the most retro console emulation where a 5pounds pi zero can even emulate PS1 games by just dumping retropi in it.
@@reeseyme9613 it was a joke lol
Soulja boy mini is not really owned or more or less oemed from a chinese bootleg company with no mods just slapped soulja boy logo on the box
apple you watching this he has a headphone jack
What did you say I was counting the money I made from dongles-Apple 2016
@@RandomPerson-bg3bv rip to the people who wasted money on those things
jay_615 I’m dead 😂😂😂
Ian Patterson not everyone wants to use apples crappy earbuds
lmao and now the mintypi lite doesnt
Bless you for getting this out Wermy and Helder. Now enjoy your holidays :)
yes!!!! placed the orders!!! totally worth it to support these guys. now to work some overtime...
You guys are doing amazing work!
This is beautiful, can't wait for the build video. Might actually buy and put together this.
I was planning on making v2, but I’m so glad I waited. Can’t wait to buy this 😁
Loved the edit when you close it and show the next version! just got mine can't wait to put it together!
I've waited so long for a build video. Can't wait for it to come out!
I'm also kinda surprised Nintendo hasn't shut this down yet. Not complaining since these projects are godsend just surprised.
The older versions of this looked like a nightmare to put together just because of how small it is. This on the other hand, has been made waaaay more simple compared to the previous versions. Great work as always.
I’ve been waiting for so long! Really excited for this
Awesome! This looks really great! :D
(Also those transitions to the Pi's were really good. :P)
Just ordered everything, can’t wait to build this. Awesome job guys. Subscribed
Oh my gosh it was so worth the wait it looks so cool
Dude! Those transitions are sick! So glad we get to see them again! Haha Awesome
It’s really funny I had this same idea a year ago but I didn’t think it was possible for this cheap.
Great job
I can't wait to see the build video for MintyPi V3! Thank you for the announcement! I would be very interested in seeing a video for that 3D printing filament splicer machine as well. That sounds like the best tool for multi-color printing I have heard of.
i really love the smooth jumpcuts between the mintyPis.
Was waiting for this video for a very long time! I'm so excited!!!!
Beautiful design work, love this iteration. I'm impressed.
Looks great! Can't wait to get my hands on this.
This is inspiring!! Thank you for making and sharing this..
Honestly, Ive been checking Insta, Helders site, and youtube every few hours for the past couple days, super excited to get started on this!
This is super friggin rad dude!!!! Good job.
Wow, I did not expect that incredible transition! And this is the best present for a retro gamer.
Btw I don't like the type c usb but it's not a problem.
Merry Christmas :)
This looks killer!! Well done!
The minty pi 2.0 was my first DIY soldering project EVER. Man, I’m so hyped for 3.0!
:D IM SO HYPED TO BUILD THIS!
I havnt even finished my first but i cant get enough of these guys
I’m so excited! I honestly can’t wait to get it I’ve been thinking about this project since I found about it when the v2 came out but I missed the orders by a month
Wow, the MintyPi project has certainly been improved visually compared to previous iterations. It looks awesome!
This looks amazing! The build looks cleaner and simpler than my PiGRRL 2.
About a year or two ago I came up with an idea to fit a raspberry pie into an altoids tin with some built in controls to play emulated games thinking it was a completely original idea. When I finally found out about this I was excited to see something I thought I came up with actually in the real world, and although I may not have came up with the idea, it’s sweet to see this!
I like the transformation!
Theres nothing sexier than a pcb with black soldering mask.
Ok, maybe there is but I really like the look.
Wooo, finally a good summer project
Hi this is wintergreen4z's grandson. during christmas when I got the package with all of the mintypi stuff I was super exited . I have been watching your videos ever since your mintypi v2 came out . Then for 2 months the only thing that I talked about was a mintypi I thought it was the coolest thing ever
Thank you so much from
Wintergreen4z's grandson
Damn! Saw these ages ago and yeh gd to see there still advancing!!!!
A beautiful product ❤️
Oh I am most DEFINITELY getting one of these!
$153 + gst + shipping for those wondering.
Hahahahahahahaahahahah
This is incredible! Preordered all of the parts - hopefully I’m actually able to get it working lol
Wow. I’ve been here since Version one! This is cool!
This is going to be awesome!
It is finally time for me to think about getting one after all these years
Holy. Shit. You go and make the whole thing a hundred times better, then you add that hall effect sensor and just blow it up even further above and beyond! Amazing!
Dammit.. if only this was done before Christmas!! Subbed
the transitions are great
Man.. I really want one of these, you won a sub today sir.
wow looks cool. So glad you are gonna include a headphone jack. Some day I will build one of these. Thank you for your amazing and inspiring videos and keep it up. I may not be able to afford to build one now but someday I will get back track and get one together.
Love how you have done all this without asking for hundreds of thousands of dollars before hand in some dream Kickstarter.
IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT
dude stop please those cuts were seamless! 😂
YAY I've been waiting excitedly!!
Thank you 1000000 times over I have been waiting this thank you so much
You're awesome. I would love to have one of this😭 this just so cool..
OMG... This is sooooo awesome !!
Yes.. I sub to your channel.. i like these projects.
nice transition, really cool
Those transitions were awesome! If I could 'like' a video twice, I would. 😀
Those transitions made me sub
I straight up bought everything before even making it 1 minute into the video lmao. Thank you wermy and helder!
Daniel Martin how much did everything cost want one for me and my kid he loves retro games
Literally just did the same...
Nyamonh Mccauley in total, it’s around $160.00
@@pharaohavalon8566 according to my math if you get the battery also, it's 110 for helder stuff with shipping, and 50 for wermys stuff including the buttons if you choose. So as already said, it's indeed around $160 in the USA. Don't know shipping costs for international though.
Oh fucking hell this is quite the improvement, I think I'll be buying.
I am not very good with stuff like this, so I'm very happy there is almost no sottering, unlike v2. I will probably be pre- ordering this today!
YEESSSSSS! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR SO LOOOOONNNGGGG!
This is really cool I’m becoming a engineer for a hobby and I think this will be my first project
Exciting stuff you guys! My only two complaints are the price and I personally am not much of a fan of those soft rubber buttons. Apart from that, lots of cool improvements, especially for the assembly! Integrating all of those parts on a single board seems like an obvious choice, and it looks like you guys did it well. It'll make the project accessible for more people.
It's too bad it costs a lot. I'll have to stick with my v2.5 for now :)
Dude you're the best, I hope I can get one soon
I've been waiting so long, it's so cooooll
Great video. Totally buying one.
Nobody is commenting about it.. but ma gawd those transitions are sweet! When you go from altoid can to altoid can.
NICE work!!!
I'm really loving this thing, I have yet to order the parts but it makes me want to build it real bad. Somethings I would like to see is movement pads like in the 3ds.
Thanks for making it easier
This looks like such a fun project to do. I wonder if even someone like me can make something like this? I've modded my systems to play different games such as my NES Classic, PSP, Wii, WIi U, and PSVita but modding something and making a system are two different things. It's different than just dropping files into an SD card. It seems kind of fun even though I don't need something like this at all. It's so cute though! haha. I love seeing people make stuff like this!
The shut down thing is sooooo cooooool.
Mintypi is back!
Oh man if my arthritic hands could do stuff like this, I would love to attempt this. It is a beauty.
Looking forward to building this in my Penguin Cinnamon tin. The cutout guide is a little bit small for the tin though, so I'll have to mark one side at a time with it.
the magnet is awesome. Always wanted to put one together...
+10 for the transitions
In for mine, going to wait as I think I'm getting a 3d printer next year but not missing out on the PCBs this time, already made that mistake once lol.
On a side note, +1 to the holy shit that was amazing comments for those transitions, best video I've watched today hands down
0:40 Whoa-ho! What a transition!
Bro u are the best the goat dint ever give up and keep this up I just subbed too u and imma buy some from u cause of your hard work my brother 💯💪💯💪
Holy shit the pallet 2 is awesome.
Slick editing
my order is in, yay!!!
Its adorable.
This is so damn cool!
I love this so much. My only regret is I don’t have enough free cash to buy parts for two or three to avoid the fights over who gets to play it
