Congrats to Een G. who won this giveaway! More giveaways coming soon, so stay tuned! :)
Wooooo! Cant wait! I get something build by the man himself!
wermy awww man well any suggestions for when I attempt this
Aww too bad its april fools day, tell us who actually won tommorow :D
im jealous
Congrats lucky Een G.
Ok that editing in the beginning was great
Estor it gave me the biggest brain fart I had to rewatch it at least 5 times
That was an ad though! 😄
It was smooth and bamboozled me
What makes you think it wasn't actually magic?
Agreed. It was not expected at all 😂.
I think the hardest part of this project was eating all the mints
pretty sure that if you eat them all at once, you'll freeze to death :P
The Mad Hacker I mean I didn’t freeze to death but all I do is talk about my wife and I have to wear this weird astronaut looking suit. Yea my skin turned blue as well
ZBriggthegamer Is this some obscure reference to something?
If you eat too many altoids, you'll get sick 🤒🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

On the waitlist for Helder's next PCB kit batch I'm so excited!!! I've been following this project since the beginning it's so cool to see how far it's come. Thank you to everyone who had a hand in creating this project; your hard work is much appreciated!
What other things can minty do besides retro gaming?
@@bukkakemon I think you can add anything that can be run on a raspberry pi, but I'm not sure of the practicality of using different programs with the controls available. There's a great community on the sudomod website with an FAQ section, as well as a discord page where you can ask people questions if you need more info!
You get yours
How did your build go?
@@bukkakemon you could play some indie games that are built for linux.
Great work and awesome video, Wermy! I just received notification that my kit is in the mail and I can't wait to put it together!
Love it, been here for a while just never got to it. I really like how far this project has gone from the fallout looking clear back ground with the small screen to the much more larger screen and different colors for the buttons. Really love how far it's come along.
This is really exciting! I've been following yours and Helder's work since the original Gameboy Zero and to see how far you've come with refining projects like these is really awesome.
Ive been following this project for a while, and im amazed at the advances you were able to make with the help of others
Im curious about what you will make next!
Dude, seriously, not only are your creations so incredible... but your TRANSITIONS ARE GODLY. They're stunningly smooth and seamless
Been waiting for so long. This is an amazing project. Just wanna say thank you to the people who put so much work into this project and believe in this great community.
Yes!!! I've missed out on the first two versions as things were sold out by the time I checked back in. I've now managed to get in on V3 and plan to build two: one for me and one for my teenage daughter whom I showed it to when I first found it about 2 years ago. It's going to be fun to build and even more fun to gift.
That looks amazing. You and helter have done an amazing job with your mintypi. I remember the first one, which is still awesome but looked home made. This one looks real professional. Good work guys.
I've been looking for this every day for like a month now lol, so glad it's up now! Even though I bought the 3d parts from you I've got my own printer now too so that's a plus lol
Love how this minty pi has progressed. If I don't with I'm definatly thinking about buying the kit
I looked at the stl files and I see you made it easy for people to customize there own color schemes for their own 3d printed parts I'm glad I ordered this kit they look amazing great job
I may not follow all that is done, but I am willing to learn, because these look like fun to build. It really gives you a feeling of accomplishment. Thank you.
I'm not extremely knowledgeable on custom PCB kits so this may be really common, but it's really cool that the boards come with test pads that I see you using for continuity testing here in the video. Great stuff! I hope to buy one of these kits in the future.
Got the practice boards, a multimeter and a soldering iron. Connected them up and test them. All good. Thanks.
I always enjoyed retro gaming with all kind of consoles or any emulation and I remember watching the first version of the mintypi and being shock by the look of it and the compact size of it. Its amazing to see how far and how much this project has improved.
Keep up the good work wermy
Sorry if my english is bad
I have been watching this project since the beginning 🙂
Looks really nice!
The inside looks professional!
That transition was amazing! I thought it was gonna go straight to working, but no, you do that sick ass transition.
Before I found youtube I always would think it would be great if you could put a gba sp in one of these tins. I'm glad I can find great RUclipsrs who share my ideas. You make an easy guide to follow and when I get up the money I'm gonna buy one and try my hand at it.
Thanks for this video I've been looking forward to this for a while
Building a MintyPi seems so fun. This entire project has been very fun to watch evolve. Soldering isn't really my strongsuit. But hey, this gives me more of a reason to tinker around with electronics.
I would love to have this thing. Keep up the good work man.
That beginning was slick! Props to you!
I love this channel and a couple months ago for my birthday I got 200 dollars so when I saw this video I actually bought the pieces and built it it was hard but in the end I did it and I love it I hope in the future y'all can make a bigger version props to all of you and have a nice day
What a beautiful project, absolutely love it!
That looks clean holy molly wow!!! This could be a product that was made by a big company like Nintendo itself
Awesome video, and great guide! Keep up the great work man.
Dude, i L O V E the detail you went into. Too bad in my country i won't be able to do this as easily as you did.
BUT
But
When i do - i sure as hell going to use your video as my guide.
Good job, man. I hope your channel will grow.
i love these videos and the sudo mod site - it's taught me so much!
OMG I've wanted one of these ever since you showed the first one. Glad your doing a giveaway, now I got a chance. Never had enough money to make one :/ Nice job btw :)
BRO these transitions are top notch!
how can anyone give this a thumbs down? Awesome video! Thank you for all you guys do for the community.
I love your work and I’m just happy that this exists lol
Awesome! Can't wait to unpack what you're packing right now :D
This is sick 100% buying it when I get the chance.
just got my hands on a kit from eBay can't wait to assemble it!
That intro was heckin’ amazing!
This is so much cleaner than the v2, less room for error
Really good editing in the beginning!
That’s just...really neat. And curiously strong.
This is so cool. Every one of my buddies is getting Altoids for Christmas ;)))
Ok I’m not kidding the transitions are awsome looking
Props to using USB-C for the charging. Now, I am really hyped for this project!
Love the megaman zero on the back! Awesome detail
Love following your work a lot! :3
My last minty pi was a complete failure due to my soldering skills. Had to bin it!!!
Had a bit more practise so looking forward to this one...
Arcade Dad dude same!
If it's practice you want, Fry's sells circuitry science kits for like 20 bucks each that I've found to be great for an afternoon at home with nothing to do.
@@eliasroos7185 but fries died I think.
@@Jordofentdealer Yeah, a couple weeks after I wrote that comment, I think
@@eliasroos7185 it was a somewhat good fate.
You guys are awesome! Nuff said!
Dang. I really need this during quarantine
Dude that edit at the beginning got me😂 good job
I have no experience with any of this stuff but this video makes me want to try
I love the way you had an idea to make a handheld. And now it's an emulator inside an Altoids case
I am going to ask for this for my b day cause it looks really fun to build and play with
fantastic work, frigging fantastic
Love the transitions
I can’t wait to get mine!
I sort of wish this was sold in a more streamline way. Having to buy the shell, buttons, and other non electric parts from one person and the board from another that may or not come with a battery (meaning you have to get a battery from some third source) is rather cumbersome.
Don't get me wrong, this is an awesome project and I fully respect the time, effort, and dedication that was and is placed into it. I just think, from a consumer point-of-view, purchasing of a mintypi should be consolidated.
Love your channel. Glad I'm a subscriber
Awesome Stuff Wermy! I can't wait for my kit! (I was the one that emailed you about the fact that I might have been moving)
Great Video! also a great guide, even for beginners.
That clean editing. Great
this would be very useful in school
can't wait to get my hands on one
That intro was amazing 🤩🤩🤩
Criminally underated 😮😮😮😮
Woohoo! Of course its while I'm at work but its finally time!!!
Awesome, this is a great project.
This seems like a decent quarantine project.
Soo good , the instructions were cristal clear :D
0:16 That transition was CLEAN
Looks great!
What a dope lil thing.
OUT OF STOCK ALREADY!?!?! Helder's really got to ramp up production. I've never seen his boards in stock.
These have been out of stock for months now. The pre-order started in January.
you gotta get in on it when the announcement is made, which was months ago. It was in stock for a while back then
As Wermy mentioned in the video there will be more stock in late March or Early April
I think there's an email sign up so you'll be notified when stuff is in stock.
Helder opened pre orders on December 24th and the closed towards the end of February. Make sure you sign up for his waiting list so you’ll be notified when he gets more stock
"good thing they're cheap and they come with free mints!"
STONKS
Please please please put stuff in the description. Love your stuff dude
The link to the blog post has links to the parts on it
For some reason I've been putting this off for a week. But this is honestly the perfect portable handheld. Anything past snes you just need to get a shield for dreamcast playstation etc etc...
I would recommend using a small bit and a file to create a hole for the sd card for easy access. Love this project, that's just my suggestion
As soon as i saw this i clicked. Im operating retropie on a razpi 3b+ currently, and am a huge proponent of pi’s stuff
I just enjoy retro gaming and the science of video gaming
Me: mom can we get a DS
Mom: we have a DS at home
The DS at home:
Hey, the DS can run Genesis emulation. That's a pretty OP DS
@@OpenKeith Yeah, i can't wait for V4 of this, if it's even made.
I wouldn't complain...If you got that you can impress your friends, And play games and no one will notice... In my opinion minty Pi is fresh! (pun totally intended)
Oh no!
*the seccond screen is gone*
GalaxyGaming better than the real thing
These are so cool!
Very tempted to get the laser cut Altoids tin.
Yo, that was a slick transition.
Love your stuff
I love this type of tech 🥰
Nice! Greetings from Luxembourg!
Can't wait to make my own
Great video and tutorials :D
this was hard but i go it right finally
Cool Video, love what you are doing with the MintyPi. Unfortunely we don't have Altoids in Germany, at least not nearby me.
Maximilian Chladek you can order the tins online
@@bobbyfilmz8768 oh, OK thx. Didnt knew that
Good luck to everyone on the giveaway! 😁 I know not many people have the resources such as myself, but even if some of you don't win, just know that all these minty's must have taken a long time, plus you never know he might do one again.(Also be respectful to others in the competition, don't beg for one, just have patience.)
You can make desoldering braid yourself. Get some stranded copper wire (the finer the strands the better). Strip off the insulation, braid it, if you want (it doesn’t have to be braided) , then coat with flux. Done.
If you wanna be extra fancy, you can apply the flux inside the braids (like the center of the braid). Although that’s not entirely necessary.
Just got my boards. Wish me luck
Great video!
Great work,
I love the mintyPi builds
WOOOW!!
INCREDIBLE
Smooth intro man!
