My MK18 is my unofficial goto rifle because I am incredibly comfortable with this rifle.
I turned what's supposed to be a strictly CQB rifle into a CQB Recce Rifle of sorts.
If I'm taking a course my mind naturally thinks to bring the MK18.
I said if I ever find myself in some urban civil unrest and I need a rifle to defend with, I'll likely grab my MK18.

I remember the good old days when I could own a MK.18 legally in Canada and do the wildly unacceptable action of you know... Shooting it...
I hate my government so much! All I want is one of the most popular firearm platforms in the world and suppressors. Not being allowed to have a black rifle that makes quiet pew pews is a travesty.

@@SplashingMANGO I really don’t know what the steps are for citizenship BUT I vaguely recall hearing something that a person in the U.S. can have a firearm even if they’re not a citizen. I’m going to have to look into it. I wish I was a wealthy man, I’d gladly help people move here who value the traditional ways of life. We’re getting to where I don’t know how much longer we’ll enjoy the freedoms we have because so many people are so willing to give it up. It’s absolutely mind blowing to me.

I also moved my SD3-G trigger to my DD mk18 and… chef’s kiss… it’s a perfect pairing. I have an OSS suppressor and it works great having the flow through design not putting any gas back in face.
Just bought one of these as a present to myself for my 21st birthday. It’s my first AR and it’s my 3rd ever gun. I’m still very new to everything. Just found this video and it was very helpful! Subscribed!

That is an amazing rifle! I like my offset sight by the front of the scope so the brass and blowback won’t have a chance of messin up the glass.
Some good choices, I might not have done it myself but I can respect your thought process.

Mine is setup very similarly. My upper is a PSA with an FN 10.5 CHF barrel and Geissele rail with pinned gas block. Aero M4E1 lower with radian selector and SD3G trigger, SBA3 with the split fix. SD-3G is my favorite AR trigger. EOTECH and OSS can for me.

Love the set up man… I’m going to steal some of these ideas for my Type A..
All my LWRCs came with that stock (the full size one, which is still tiny). I'm surprised there was no mention of the quality of the polymer used. It's uniquely head and shoulders above any other stock I've used.
LWRCI is also one of the few manufacturers that make everything in house too. Unlike some others who will have pins, bolts or other parts contracted out and they just assemble it. LWRCI in my opinion is the best value in AR15 and I don’t own one.
@@AutopilotAndChill Yeah, and people always mention how the only companies that have their own in-house hammer forging machines are Daniel Defense and FN. LWRC has had their own for ages now, but few people ever mention that.

I've been looking at the MK18. This is the setup for me!
My Mk18 is my favorite rifle by far. I did choose the Geissele SSP trigger instead of the 3 Gun because it just feels better on my trigger finger. I don't know if I can bring myself to get rid of the RIS II, but man you might be changing my mind on that. Great video!
The Geissele rail is a downgrade. The RIS won't bend unlike the bendy bill rail.

Like the way you set it up and love the low profile
Great content great view of the mk18, if I had a MK18 I would add a 12.5" barrel, change and the rest pretty much as you did, and add a trigger, to where I could select between semi and forced reset or binary, but it would have to be selectable or a very low pull and super fast reset, especially it being a CQB firearm
A 12.5 is what I just built with a PDW brace to keep it compact
Just buy a 12.5 tho, what makes a mk18 a mk18 is the 10.3 barrel
I would get a SOLGW M4-76. A 13.7'' bbl pinned to just past 16'' with an excellent practical muzzle device that can also accept keymo. Also the extra velocity makes much more sense for the LPVO+dot setup.
Pretty much the most compact AR rifle setup. I love some 14.5 lightweight, but that 13.7 felt amazing!
You could get a forced reset trigger
I hunted a MK18 for quite some time. Found one on GB with a 12.5 already installed….. Fuckin bought that immediately
For charging handles on suppressed rifles I prefer the Griffen Snatch. Ports the gas away from the operator to the same side as your ejection port.
I remember the initial one and I’m glad I’m back for part 2

DD's Butt Stock is perfect and recognizable. I went with a smaller low profile foregrip (Magpul). The milspec trigger is fine. The charging handle doesn't work well when suppressed therefore the Gas Blocker handle is a good option. 👌

I put a similar rig together except the SBR FACTOR but love the build
Lol good job my man. I don’t have a mk18, I was too poor to buy everything at once so I built an 11.5” pistol with a 1200 dollar, good enough to fire a round without any sights budget. The gun store even gave me the trigger and flash hider for free to save money. Then I slowly upgraded her. I have so many of similar upgrades now, 2 grand later. Same trigger, charging handle, safety selector as yours. Put dd fixed irons on it, put a dead air 3 prong flash, voltor A5 system, I did a lot (optics, light, etc). My only complaint was putting a BCM MCMR 10” rail. I should have went with a Quad rail for one important reason. That dang gasblock heats up and without a bunch of expensive railscales I haven’t been able to shoot comfortably. Also the quad rail is so damn sexy. This new contemporary slick look on guns is cool and has its place, a reason the military switched. But quad rail aesthetics scream I get poon.

Nothing wrong with that, build it they way you want it. Aero precision makes a great base for a great rifle.

Going to a Geissele rail is a downgrade, the DD rails are some of the best on the market.

Had a Surefire Taclight similar to yours on my rifle on my 3rd deployment to Iraq 🇮🇶. Currently on my fourth deployment and when I get home I plan to expand my collection to have some rifles with similar purposes like yours. Also moving to Houston, Texas area and would love to meet and shoot at a range together one day. Also love the fact you are so eloquent when describing the 2nd amendment rights to the public.

Every time I see those uppers they have the keymod rail for whatever reason
@@wasdawasda3849 True. However, for my usage, I could use the Key Mod for mounting a light, and use the top rail for a laser. I don't really see the need to mount anything else, really, except, maybe, a grip on the bottom rail. I'm really undecided on that.
@@skookapalooza2016 True, the only grips I run now are arisaka finger stops/ indexers. I suppose for the money you're spending on the upper a new rail really isn't that bad
@@wasdawasda3849 I think they use the keymod rail because they use less space under the handguard than mlok does. With the suppressor under the handguard there’s very little room so to use mlok they would have to make the handguard thicker.

The MK18/Eotech/LA5, angle grip and surefirelight was my setup as a team leader in Afghanistan. Ever since I got out I haven’t been able to afford to clone my service rifle lol. Also extended charging handles/ambi handles suck ass humping your rifle around at night over long distances or fast roping because they tend to push the rifle out of battery when rubbing on your kit.

If you havnt ditched the build yet, i threw a AFP Folding lower on my Daniel Mk18 upper. built in folding into the lower is a game changer.
Geissele makes the best triggers, hands down. You can pick any from their lineup and you won’t dissatisfied.
Absolutely. Can’t beat them and they do it with the highest level of reliability to boot.

Overall, I love your channel, commentary, and media appearances. These reviews, however, would pack more punch if you ever came across a firearm you DIDN'T love. I bought my Ruger Mark IV partly after watching your review (no regerts - best semi-auto .22 pistol ever), but it'd be interesting to see you do ... I dunno. Maybe unbiased reviews of firearms? I'm fond of all my guns, but over half of them would stay in the safe in a 'real' situation. Perhaps you only review guns you know will perform 100%, but it would provide a lot of credibility if you ever shot a gun you didn't actually like. Just a thought. Anyone show me a link to Mr. Noir with a negative review if I've missed it somehow ....

I enjoy my DDM4 v9. The problem I have is weight. I want to get a suppressor for it, but really need to get a shorter barrel. I'm old school so I like my Picatinny Rail. I have a bibod on for when I go shooting I need to zero both the iron's and red dot sight.

Try the dot with a magnifier, that’s my set up , it’s great and you can see out to 300/400 yards and hit well.
People who use an offset instead of a flip over magnifier like them because you don't have to take your hands off the controls to "switch"
