This makes me want to get training for my rifle and take a class like this because i just did an AR build for my birthday using a uintah precision upper making a bolt action ar15 because I wanted an ar15 that could survive an assault weapons ban sadly though I still have not finished my build yet because some parts I want just are just not in stock or where discontinued because of the pandemic but still I love what you do and want you to keep doing what you do
@@yvonvoyer5812 the assault weapon ban is because it LOOKS like an AR 15. And no, even bolt action rifles will be banned. See Australia gun laws. Sorry but your AR will still be targeted as a SNIPER rifle...... and we just caint have that in a eutopia political civilization.
What I love is people so willing to share their passion with you and how happy they were for you when you nailed the skill test. That is what it's all about.
Absolutely. Your life is your life. You can not depend on the police to be at every event at the time it is happening, so if you carry , you can defend yourself against the evil people in this world. “When I pick it up it feels like an extension of me.” That is the best feeling in the world. I have a Howa 1500 build that I went to a class with and about halfway through the class it all just seemed to click. Now that is my favorite gun. It feels like it is just a “if I can see it, I can hit it” kind of thing. It is an amazing feeling.
I bought a Howa 1500 Varmint supreme in 308 years ago. When I finally shot out the barrel, I used the action as a donor for my first custom rifle build. It was my favorite bolt gun then, and even more so now. Now it consists of a Howa 1500 short action, a GRS bifrost stock, a McGowen 24 inch 11 twist heavy Palma barrel (.875 at the muzzle), an area 419 hellfire match brake, and AICS compatible bottom metal.
I took a class with DI. Derek was a first class instructor. I took a friend who had never shot beyond 100 yards and Derek had him hammering steel at 1000 yards pretty quickly.
I don't have a "long range" gun yet. My Ruger AR-15 would probably be the longest shooter and I feel that way about it every time I pick it up. The weight, feel, fit...it just melds to my body and I love it. I will set my sights on a good, long shooting gun but I have a feeling that I am not meant to be the sniper type. Watching these video's is starting an itch, though!
Hey (8 yr old girl-competition shooter here) - Just wanted to say that this is pretty cool! I first started on a Precision Rifle at 6 years old and loved it! What a great way to get into shooting too!
I got my Delta 5 Pro a few months ago. I felt the frustration Colion was talking about while zeroing. Then, just the other week, I hit a steel target at 1000 yards! What a beautiful gun this is!
Long range shooting is flat out addictive and fun to boot!!!!! There is something about dinging steel at extreme distances - it's a natural high and I love it. Glad to see you enjoyed your experience and look forward to more long range videos in the future.
Despite the "news" and "politics"..... Guys like this ARE the true gun community! It's fun, helping others out, competitive and ya can meet a LOT of people from different walks of life and maybe learn to love another guys gun or a different form of shooting. Plus, it's a handy skillset when you encounter the people that should NOT own guns! Another great video and I loved "You leave training fucking hating the gun or loving it. No middle ground". I took my 2 new AR builds out yesterday with some friends, and, as usual, I'm changing parts today.
“love is knowing your target, putting them in your sights, and together achieving a singular purpose against statistically long odds” when I saw the thumbnail I immediately thought of that quote.
Really appreciate the video and.... welcome to precision rifle. I've been doing it for almost 50 years and I have seen your instructor shooting a match testing the EC tuner. I have shot 2-3" groups at over 900 yards in different winds multiple times just this year alone. I have several rifles capable of this but my favorite is a custom built 7 mm rem mag. I waited years to have built exactly how I wanted so I know what you mean when you say you have a relationship with your rifle. Good job on the video.
I got home yesterday from Texas and training with Derek @ DI Precision. Like Colion I know how to shoot but after working w/ Derek now I KNOW how to shoot long range. What a great experience!! We got my new custom rifle that he built, dialed in and then learned the Kestral which is a device that give you lots of info however, Derek showed me how to integrate that information with the conditions that are actually present. Derek is a fantastic instructor and one hell of a shooter and knows how to break the info down to plain speech.
Excellent video as always. You have trained for a negative contact at close range for a while and it is eye opening to discover that if "I" engage the target further out - then my personal threat diminishes the further I can confidently engage that threat. No skill or training is un important! The further we keep the enemy at bay the safer we are! But we must posses the skills to achieve the desired outcome.
FANTASTIC VIDEO. The pursuit of perfection in all things should be applauded for the effort involved. To you Colion, you have moved mountains in the 'respect meter' for engaging in something so trying and challenging. This is what life is about - pushing the limits of what's possible. Kudos to you brother.

Colion….. Thank you for this video. As a owner of a bolt action rifle, I agree with you points on the need to go out and fall in love with your firearm. For me the challenge is finding a good outdoor range where I can get some real one one one time with my rifle. For me that is where I need to start developing the skill set I need to say that I am one with the rifle. I have fired it only 2 times, both in an indoor range. Finding a good outdoor range for many shooters , I feel is the bigger challenge.

Wow! Those guys at SDI are really nice and so helpful! PRS has picked up very much here in Europe, and I can understand why. DD is a brilliant piece of kit, but the shooter did his part splendidly - well done Colion Noir.
I grabbed a Howa 1500 and man that gun is sick. I have shot rifles for over 30 years plus and this thing is insanely accurate. I am looking forward to taking a class like this to get better acquainted with precision rifle shooting.
I love you Colion, I love your videos! I know you’re new to this game. They make great AR’s, but that bolt action needs a lot of work. I also know how the YT model works, if you’re ready to go to a full custom rig. Let me know and I can make some introductions 🎯
I have owed my RPR in 6.5 Creed for about a year now. I have had to teach myself everything you discussed in this vid. I wouldn't say that I'm an expert, but I have been able hit targets out to 800 yrds. Its a good time.
About time you got into long range precision shooting. Funny how so many people think long range shooting is mystical voodoo, but at local PRS matches we shoot out to 1,000+ yards often time from barricades and weird position these days
This has to be one of my favorite videos. Seeing you show us the exciting part of learning about precision shooting and then doing what you did on that course was outrageous and so entertaining. I have been assembling guns for myself with parts that work for me and installing adjustable triggers to set it just the way I want it to break. I still have a long ways to go, plus I would love to have a Delta 5 but not in the budget, plus I am not a competitor. Please keep up all the great things you do.
I thought your SOCOM 16 video was top notch. I'm Saving for one now. But this video was off the charts and it's hard to describe everything that we saw. Congratulations on running the table on your first time up !
Seeing your excitement and intense joy from putting your training and tool to the test and passing immediately made me more interested in rifles in a way I've never contemplated before. I may never be able to afford your journey, but it inspires me to make my own. Great shooting and content!! Thanks for sharing.
I was shooting precision rifle for 10 years self taught out to 1100 yards but then I trained with Mike Mayo from rifles only nh and it was world changing
Finally got my Delta 5 pro in 6.5 creedmore 3 weeks ago, after waiting for parts and such took it out for break in today. Only planned on sending 20, but ended up doing 40. Night and day from my rem 700 308. Group of marine infantry next to me gave it a try (felt bad because only muzzle break while waiting on a tax stamp) and they loved it. Will be looking into the class since only an hour away in Houston.
Fjb. I learned to shoot well in the Marines. Ended up as marksmanship instructor after shooting expert during a hurricane. Got a trip to Gunsite Ranch, and trained by Jeff Cooper and his staff. Some of the best shooters in the world.
I too am not a precision guy but specifically wanted a Delta 5 Pro just so that I know that when I eventually get to a course to learn more, I’ll know the gun is not the problem. It’s a bad ass rifle for a good price in my opinion for what you get. Plus it’s built 2.5 hours away from me so that cool too.
Oh I am so sorry you did this!!! Just hearing you talk about how you and the rifle had to get to know each other told me you're hooked! Nothing better than having a tool you have confidence with under stress.
I have been debating between this and several other precision rifles. I have to say... after watching this video I'm buying a delta 5 tomorrow... decision has been made. I'm looking forward to my first precision shooting lesson. Thank you
I recently took a Precision Rifle course at Front Sight FIrearms Institute, and it WAS AWESOME !! Truly addictive. I was able to hit a 9 inch circle at 750 yards pretty reliably ! Great video thanks !! The Kestrel is the business !! Paralax is also really difficult for me to correct !! FUN TIMES
Excellent job. Big DD FAN..don’t baby the bolt..I was told once by a great marksmanship instructor “you’re only as good as your last shot”marksmanship school overseas your zero impact is from the prone with a much bigger round 300 Norma 338 lapua..no kestrel Was hoping to see how they teach breathing, recoil energy, scope peripheral tube vision, loading the bipods, natural point of aim etc..be glad to help.
Live in the cities and don't get much of a chance to shoot distance. We got out to a 1000 yard range today. That was fun hitting a gong at that distance. Going to have to do it again soon.
Literally just went to the range today and sighted in my new bolt gun. Ended up ringing steel consistently at 800 yards for the first time and its so satisfying. Just wish there was a longer range nearby
I am PISSED i just watched a 14 minute commercial for Daniel Defense with obvious bias designed to entice the audience to purchase one of these rifles. "THANKS" @Colion Noir. I now have two on order. (Disclaimer: I do not have two on order but still enjoyed this video. Even if it was a commercial.)
great stuff man, shooting a perfect stage like that is no joke. I love your excitement with that bolt gun, also great to see another shooter fall in love with the game of accuracy, it is not as easy as it looks.
After watching your excelent review, I decide to go grab a DD 5 pro. Only one I could find was in .308. Well all I can say is pictures and video definitely do not show just how sexy and overly engineered this rifle truly is, this thing is a beast.. It even lives up to the 0.50 moa guarantee. DD hit a home run with this one.
Kevin Owen's (FieldCraft Survival) long range ballistics class emphasizes the Kestrel with Applied Ballistics bullet library. Kestrel with range finder accuracy with those properly used is a game changer. BTW, I'd put my Christensen Arms carbon barrel in either 6.5CM and 300PRC up against anything Daniel Defense offers. I can say that because both of those guns have the best glass money can buy. All else equal, the best glass matters.
I love custom loading it's like a granny's knitting ppl dont really like doing it all that much but like the end product. Now I like doing it and love the end product. Keep rocking
Dirt road VS the Highway . Two different rides Sir.. What's really cool??? Now you know both and there is a cross road ahead in your future and you Sir will adapt to almost any condition ahead .. Word from the wise . Take you're time and smell the flowers along the way and you'll know where you're at in the dark ..
I am so freakin' envious! I always loved it when it was Range Day, I looked forward to those days with such anticipation, I almost never got any decent sleep. Luckily, I was also a Range Safety, so I got to shoot every week! I loved it!!
@colion Noir this was good. Love what you do for the firearm industry. I picked up PRS last year and having been a hunter my whole life (thinking I could shoot good, which I can) this sport made me feel like a damn beginner haha! Great stuff man!
Sporting Clays already holds the 'Golf for people who like shooting sports' title, IMO. I do recommend it highly. I get your point tho - thanks for the video.
I have a single shot 22 lr with a 3x9x40 scope and a love to paint a 4'x8' sheet of plywood with white paint and at 100 yards kill house flies that will come to the white color. I like hitting a 1/4 " socket at the same distance shot after shot. Enjoy the feeling my friend I know I do.
Now that you've got your feet wet in precision shooting, you will translate that skill set to every other type of shooting you do. And that includes shotgun. There's a school in Squim Washington you absolutely MUST attend. Chuck Dryke taught his son, Matt, to shoot. Mat went on to Olympic Gold in both Skeet and Trap. Chuck's gone now, but Mat still runs and teaches at the Sunnydale Shooting facility in Squim. Go do it! You'll love it!!!
I've nothing as this rifle. Mine is a Mossberg, 7.62 nato. After watching this video I will be searching for this type of training. Hopefully over in Santa Rosa county.
Come to New Mexico Colion, we can enjoy some flat land steel to 1000 yards and if you're lucky, we'll stress you out with some extreem heat or high winds.
I live in CA. I am so jealous. I just got a nice bolt. I'm a handgun guy too. But I love all your videos and this gives me more perspective on long range shooting too. Hopefully I'll get my 6.5 creedmoor out there. On another note I want to carry, but almost impossible in CA bay area. I am hoping USCCA can help. Thanks for your positive influence and gun right support.
The D5P is a great factory rifle. Custom rifle results at a factory level price. Pencil barrel is the weak point if you have to engage multiple targets quickly..
@@flyingpig7203 It's a fantastic rifle and I've yet to meet anyone who didn't love it and say it one of the best values in the factory produced precision rifles. I may have used the wrong word when I said weak. They are accurate barrels and shoot sub moa with factory match ammo. If your rifle shoots a minute or better you can compete at the highest level of PRS if you do your part. The reason I pointed out the barrel is it's light. Light barrels get hot if you string a number of shots together in a short time period. When a barrel gets hot, they tend to lose accuracy or consistency. Custom PRS rifles tend to have barrels that weigh considerably more and have contours more symmetrical the entire length of it. Pencil barrels are considerably thicker near the action and get much thinner progressively to the muzzle device. Hope that helpped explain my comment. Should have chosen my words a bit better. I can assure you, you will not find a better value than this Daniel Defense PRS Rifle. It easily shoots sub moa with factory match ammo. That alone says a ton about this rifle alone. Not too mention the chassis system is nicely done. Hope this clears things up....
@@bryanduchane2371 thanks for the explanation. Makes perfect sense. Have to admit that when I saw the length of your reply I was a little worried about the Pandora box I had opened. Lol

I have been assembling guns for myself with parts that work for me and installing adjustable triggers to set it just the way I want it to break.
I still have a long ways to go, plus I would love to have a Delta 5 but not in the budget, plus I am not a competitor.
Please keep up all the great things you do.

I just got one in .308 and wow!!! It really does offer jaw dropping performance 🤘🏼
DI is a great group! Derek just built my rifle with all the carbon and titanium goodies. Hopefully you got to see the work of art they did with it!
I need me one of these for outdoor range day. Great shooting man! I felt that excitement through the screen.
I have been wanting a Delta pro for a long time and this just makes me want it more

Precision shooting is like a puzzle for each target and forget one piece of the puzzle and strike your out. Best part is the puzzle never gets old.
Congrats you have been selected among our shortlisted winners, contact the number above................✅
Oh I am so sorry you did this!!! Just hearing you talk about how you and the rifle had to get to know each other told me you're hooked! Nothing better than having a tool you have confidence with under stress.
The best video I’ve seen yet, the sniper transition was the switch in the video.
I so appreciate your honest take and learning on this Colion. Well done Sir.
FUN TIMES

I’m a long range freak and have been for many years. Thank you for this video!
LOVE my Delta 5 Pro
Excellent job. Big DD FAN..don’t baby the bolt..I was told once by a great marksmanship instructor “you’re only as good as your last shot”marksmanship school overseas your zero impact is from the prone with a much bigger round 300 Norma 338 lapua..no kestrel
Was hoping to see how they teach breathing, recoil energy, scope peripheral tube vision, loading the bipods, natural point of aim etc..be glad to help.
underrated channel. should have 30m subs

Yeah, when you know that you can be surgically precise FIRST round hits at distance ......... it rarely get better Great video Colion

That seemed like an amazing experience!
650 yards precision shooting is fantastic! Great video! You are very fortunate too
great stuff man, shooting a perfect stage like that is no joke. I love your excitement with that bolt gun, also great to see another shooter fall in love with the game of accuracy, it is not as easy as it looks.
Thank you Collin for sharing.

Long distance shooting adds so much fun to an already awesome time.
Wow! Beautiful! I really want to take this training course!
This made my day....great job man great teachers
Kevin Owen's (FieldCraft Survival) long range ballistics class emphasizes the Kestrel with Applied Ballistics bullet library. Kestrel with range finder accuracy with those properly used is a game changer. BTW, I'd put my Christensen Arms carbon barrel in either 6.5CM and 300PRC up against anything Daniel Defense offers. I can say that because both of those guns have the best glass money can buy. All else equal, the best glass matters.

Nice!!! Glad to see you enjoying some precision rifle.
Take you're time and smell the flowers along the way and you'll know where you're at in the dark ..

couldn't find any thing ??? Now I'm tracking you !!!
I love to see this kind of camaraderie in our 2A culture
I am so freakin' envious! I always loved it when it was Range Day, I looked forward to those days with such anticipation, I almost never got any decent sleep. Luckily, I was also a Range Safety, so I got to shoot every week!
I loved it!!

@colion Noir this was good. Love what you do for the firearm industry.
I picked up PRS last year and having been a hunter my whole life (thinking I could shoot good, which I can) this sport made me feel like a damn beginner haha!
Great stuff man!
Great video thanks. I practice a lot with pcp air rifles and a high end 22lr bolt gun I need this kind of training. Precision shooting is like a drug.
This might be your best video ever. Well Done.
Sporting Clays already holds the 'Golf for people who like shooting sports' title, IMO. I do recommend it highly. I get your point tho - thanks for the video.
Love this video! Just purchased my 1st bolt action gun; and I'm looking to learn precision shooting. This video sumed up my feelings.
Wow! What a cool video! I'm glad you got to go through the training and am thrilled for you at how well you did. My hat is off to you.
Congrats you have been selected among our shortlisted winners, contact the number above................✅
I've nothing as this rifle. Mine is a Mossberg, 7.62 nato. After watching this video I will be searching for this type of training. Hopefully over in Santa Rosa county.

Excellent video! Love the drone shots!
Come to New Mexico Colion, we can enjoy some flat land steel to 1000 yards and if you're lucky, we'll stress you out with some extreem heat or high winds.
Always great content. Love the video keep things like this up. Love learning new things
This video describes perfectly my $10k bucket list weekend. Well, one of them anyway.
Hey Colion, congrats on the 2 Mil subscribers!
Bro! That looked like a lot of fun! Beautiful rifle. That was some high speed shooting and impressive.
Congrats you have been selected among our shortlisted winners, contact the number above....................✅
The D5P is a great factory rifle. Custom rifle results at a factory level price. Pencil barrel is the weak point if you have to engage multiple targets quickly..
Yeah I
Weak point? How do you mean? Just looking at getting into this. What else would you have someone consider at the same price point.
Lol
they do make it in a heavy palma though
Watching all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦 🙌
