THANK YOU for making the point of not wanting to hear "move out of New York" every time I hear that it annoys me so much! "I get a much bigger space in this city for that amount" blah blah!! I looove living here and enjoyed this video!! I currently live in a studio in UES and even though I really look forward to be able to move to a 1 bedroom I am thankful for my little space in this location. Cant wait to see your future videos!
@Fish that is true. Just today I got locked out of my apartment because the lock is old. I called the locksmith that is on the handle of my door and he literally charged me $600 that I dont have just out of pocket. I told my landlord that literally it’s because the lock is old and I had to spend all this money and it shouldn’t be the tenant’s fault. If course they are not going to help me or return my money :(
Just started the lease on my studio but still obsessed with seeing the other rentals and giving myself FOMO/feeling super happy and lucky with my decision. Loved this video, the nyc rental market PTSD is real, cheers!
Hello Urvi, Thank you for your reporting on apartment hunting. You gave a well documented tour and explanation of apartment hunting. I am glad to hear that you found your dream apartment. I am familiar with the area that you will be moving into. It is such a nice, quiet area and it seems safe for you to live in as a single-person. Take care Urvi and Good luck.
I’m 61 and was born and raised in New York City…… I grew up in a co-op my parents owned we didn’t have to go thru brokers there were only newspapers and supers. So it is amazing to see the change now I’m in San Francisco 🙋🏻♀️👏🏼👏🏼good luck darling
I highly recommend working with a single broker. They can do the searching for you (sounds like you're saying you spend a lot of time searching), and they can also know about listings before they come up, or other off-market opportunities. Loyalty pays off, I can vouch for it!
I'm thinking that's annually. I'm used to hearing it expressed as you need to make 3 or 4x the rent per month., but I don't live in NYC, so maybe the norm there is to think about it on an annual rather than monthly basis.
For me, as a European who would never want to live there except to come as a tourist, because the city is an icon and it is New York after all... But everything there is somehow abnormally expensive because it is simply not realistic and the terms of the contract are abnormally difficult and the quality of life It is very questionable. I think for the average person is not that good at all... Because at some area of town there are horribly ugly underground stations, very scary too go down at night with big crime rate and a lot of drugs, gangs and homeless people.Actually only downtown Manhattan is the quality of life to go in New York. Life in Europe is much better in my opinion But certainly New York is special and always will be

Haha I know! I’ve heard it enough. I’m moving into a studio too 🫶🏼
omg felt that comment so much, ppl are so negative without anyone asking for an opinion
New York is sh*t though.

How do people afford these places.? I work full time as a teacher and couldn’t afford to live in NYC
This is great, thank you! Been in 2 sublets and need something again now but was not sure how to search
I love watching these videos it’s so nice to see the different prices and offerings in each ❤
I just love watching apartment hunting and touring videos and I just came across your channel today in my suggestions from RUclips and subscribed.
Thank you and welcome to the channel 🤍
I think the next to the last apartment was the most attractive (not considering concerns about cleaning, etc.). Looked very spacious and nice layout.
I know it was great. I was concerned about having a landlord who doesn’t even care to clean the place though!
You always do such a thorough job with these.
Great video. Can't wait for more apartment hunt videos! :)
"is it going to be cleaned?"
- "no, it's not"
😂like how is that even acceptable
Anything goes because it’s New York City?? 😂😂
I’m excited to see the apartment you picked!
🥰
I live in Dubai which is a very expensive city but these New York prices are insane!
Best NY Apt tour that I’ve seen, super helpful! ❤
That’s so nice of you! Thank you, I’m very glad :)
Lovely video, thanks for sharing 👍 🥰
Here in Jamaica, easy living . No mortgage , no rent . Great weather all year round.
Can’t handle America.
Your apartment is so so adorable love it
Thank you!
I can’t believe strangers ask you to help them find an apartment! 😂
Waiting for part 3

Sure, it makes the process easier. I didn’t want to pay a broker fee so didn’t mind doing the extra work.
On earth can people show 40x monthly rental at these prices?
40 to 50
Times the rent?
Yup 🥲

Sounds pretty sad for singles who don't have anybody to share with.
@@laurabarnes5283 yep! 40x min for your annual salary. Im a gig worker so my monthly fluctuates but my yearly is pretty solid.
