what better way to kick off moving season with the apartment hunting video?? Which was your favorite and which would you pick?? I know some of you have been waiting forever for this 🥹💕 just want to say the comment section is not a place to judge and please be respectful, everyone has different preferences on where they live. ❤️🔥
I LOVE HOW MUCH YOU SPOKE ON SO MANY LITTLE DETAILS THAT GO INTO APARTMENT HUNTING & ALLLLL THE INFO! I saw something recently that says, "Don't limit what God can use" and this incredibly informative video reminded me of that! We need more creators like you who use their voice unapologetically to help out the community and pass the knowledge in such a creative way! I obviously live in California but I have a cousin who recently moved to MD and looooves Virginia!! She said she LOVES your content and your videos have been so helpful. LOVED THIS JENNA, KEEP GOING & KEEP TALKING NONSTOP. I LOVE IT.
Without watching I liked the video simply for you saying Arlington, VA and not Washington, DC, but yet you're in VA. They are not the same. Thank you so very much.
There’s so many things you talked about in apartments that I’ve never heard of! Like having to upgrade if you move to a sister building or not having your own thermostats. Love finding out new things!
Omg so many nice apartments! It's so hard to choose! I liked how you mentioned the prices and shared the pros and cons! Can't wait to see what you pick!
I love seeing all these places! I’m from the DMV but live in Boston now and the prices are getting insane everywhere! Some cute places tho! #6 is speaking to me 😊 I’m so excited to watch the moving vlogs! I found your channel recently and im addicted!
My first apartment in Arlington (Crystal City back in 2012) had central heating and A/C and I had had never heard of such a thing, Nor did I realize that it existed in the building I had signed a lease in. The early spring heat snaps we would have, before they were ready to switch everything over from heat to AC, were absolutely miserable 🥵🥵🥵 Especially because I had a 9th floor corner unit with a bunch of windows and no other buildings blocking the sun!
It was the light in #6 for me. It just felt nice. And the price gave a little breathing room. I was like 😳 this entire video. Most of the rents of these places are 1,000.00+ more than my mortgage! I live in the DMV as well. I bought a condo in early 2019. The prices have really skyrocketed since then…wishing you the best in your apartment hunt!
I like apts 4&5 really nice walk in closet & the balcony was an added bonus even though it’s not in your budget. Either way can’t wait to see which one y’all chose.
Ok wait this is so crazy but I live in the last apt (obv not saying where bc safety) and I really love it!!!! It is a lil chaotic w the renovations but honestly it hasn’t been super disruptive
I think apartment #6. 7 and 8 would have been great contenders with the prices, space, and lighting! but those cons you mentioned I think are pretty big because they're a daily occurrence. like you'd have to live with seeing the paint swipes and if that building smell is constant, eh yeah no bueno. and then of course distance to the metro
OMG this is so useful for me!! Currently looking for a 2 bedroom apt but in Alexandria. Definitely prices are very similar for the same amount of amenities, area and entertainment. Can’t wait for the moving vlogs 🎉🤗
Looove those apartment hunting vids 😍😍😍😍 it’s gna be weird to see you living ain a new ampartment but not that this is hate or whatever I’m happy for you that your getting needs in a apartment
When young professionals consider areas in Arlington, is it pretty much Rosslyn, clarendon, Pentagon city, and crystal city? Do younger people consider Ballston and Virginia square or is that a bit far out ?
I think it depends on where your office is if you are hybrid or in office, I was in Ballston and VA square for 3 years which is why I didn’t include it this time around!
May I ask what metro apartment #3, #6, #7, and #8is near? I currently live in D.C. but due to the crime wave I am thinking to move to V.A. for slightly better peace of mind.
#2 at first but the commute is the biggest issue. It may seem small but it makes a big difference when you actually do commute. I would guess #6 just because the commute is super short compared to #2. Plus a shared courtyard for Beast is a big plus. Personally, I can deal with the downgrade for appliances. As long as it’s in good working condition. 😊
Commute is definitely something I want to be mindful of for my partner, that’s why I’m choosing the higher prices to be steps away from metro stops! Thank you :)
I saw Arlington and decided to click. I’m 50 min south of Arlington and am considering moving closer but not sure yet. So it was nice to see the apartment space.
I lived in Arlington 2012-2015 then I moved to NoMa DC. It's crazy how expensive it's gotten around here. The closer you are to a metro/DC the more expensive it is - even for run down dumps. I'm in Fairfax now in a 1-bed garden style apartment with an attached, private garage, 795 sq ft and I pay base rent just under $2400. I work from home primarily but my office is in downtown DC so it's convenient to jump on 50 to get there. The only con here is it's not as dog friendly as I'd like it to be. We don't have an abundance of grass unless you go off property down by the main road. My dog is small and there is a dog park but it's really just an astroturfed patch of fake grass. I liked apartment 6. The penthouse is always a good option. the bathroom mirror should have been upgraded as well as the sink fixtures but I think I'd choose that one.
For privacy reasons, I wouldn’t want my own apartment shared publicly and found these places in accordance to the map on apartments.com so they’re all pretty close
EXCUSE ME?! 865sq ft for $2,600?! These apartment owners are getting real INSANE aren’t they?! I need a serious housing bubble to happen asap 😂 we got a 1200sq ft apt in MN for $2400 and i think that’s insanely high for what we get. Just saw an IG post where people were saying back in the good ol days rent was $850 in their building and after the rona it’s now over 2k. Thieves I tell ya, all of em 😂😂😂 So happy u found a placeeee excited for the moving vlogs and to see how you decorate! And of course how lil beast gets adjusted to the new place 🥹❤️
When living with people its important to get a 1 bed plus even if its a 1 bed and den. So you are not in each others face all the time Especially if you are not married yet
I am looking for one bedroom one bath too, close to metro, grocery etc. just so expensive! These apartments do not include utilities! What’s the average monthly?
That sink being so far from the stove must really annoy some residents in Apartment 3. Also, remember to check for the number and placement of outlets in the spaces.
@@JennaHong oh why. I am sure you chose well for what you both need. Its hard to find e everything. My husband and I had difficulty finding resdence to rent but chose what we required and made it work. Xxx
I found all of these through apartments.com and looking at what locations I wanted to be in because I needed something walking distance to a metro stop on the silver or blue line ❤️
It is really interesting to see apartment tours for different cities. The rent prices in Arlington might be high but you are getting a lot for the price. Nice finishes, big spaces, good location.
I got a job offer in Arlington,VA, don't have a partner, its just me, how do you like Arlington? I thought Arlington was in the middle of nowhere but nice to see its in a nice city like area. Would you say its walkable? I want to avoid a car if i can
i LOVE living in arlington! i lived there without my partner the first three years, two of those three with roommates. it is amazing and very safe, extremely close to washington DC so if you live by a metro stop you dont need your car! lots of communities to meet new people
You can in certain areas of northern Virginia and Arlington too. Being steps from the metro and 1-6 stops to Washington DC really hikes up the price and that’s just one factor :)
This was when I was actually searching for my current apartment that I live now, it’s mainly to show what’s available in Arlington but I would go on apartments.com and look at the buildings via map since location matters most. That’s how I found all of these buildings :)

As a Californian, Arlington is pretty reasonable. The only place you can get a 1 bedroom for under 3,000 would be inland areas…
