This is Christ’s bride. And just like He loved you in the depth of your sin, dying for you and redeeming you, you too are called to love the Church and continue teaching truth, though it means getting REALLY uncomfortable and sometimes disagreeing with people you love, admire and respect. Live in the tension. Worship the Lord Who is bigger than your questions and disagreements. But, most importantly, show the love you’ve been shown.

Please don't ever stop making these videos. They help sooo many people, but even if they only helped bring one person closer to the Lord...It's worth it! You have really helped me draw closer to the Lord. When I say for the last week I've done nothing but eat, sleep, and breathe God's word I'm not joking. I am on fire for the Lord and wouldn't have it any other way! If I had never came across your videos I don't know if I would be this way today and that's kinda a scary thought. I remember when I first saw one of your videos, my first thought was, This woman just radiates God's love! & My second thought was that's what I want people to see and feel when they look at me! Thank you so much for speaking on this Faith! This kind of thing has been burdening my heart seeing Christians tear eachother apart over things that are truly secondary. Not only does it hurt our witness to the unbelieving world, but it opens the door to so much spiritual abuse among those who are supposed to love one another as family, all because someone wants to be "right" about something. I am 20yrs old and had the privilege to preach about that exact message last sunday in my church. We are called to love one another out of the grander love we received on the cross. Amen
I absolutely love this! Our church is currently working through some discipleships series and are concentrating on showing love to one another. It’s so sad when we bicker amongst ourselves and can’t get along as a body of believers 😢. The unsaved world is quick. To pick up on this which does NOT bring glory to God. Wherever we go we should display a love that is out of this world because to truly love we can only love through the Holy Spirit. I appreciate that you did not ignore the fact that as believers we are called to exhort other believers and that there is a time for discipline (in love). Love also comes with discipline as parents know too well. Too often people want to love everyone and ignore any exhortation. Thank you for rightly dividing the Word of God.

I was reading the mean comments in some of your videos. Calling names or fighting over secondary issues. But I am glad to see you preaching the gospel to yourself and to others. Your channel is a means of grace for everyone: sometimes by speaking truth to others or sometimes by teaching us to respond in grace (not in kind) and continue sharing the grace we have received.

I just wanted to leave a note to encourage you that despite the comments, God is working so much through you.
My story is that I believed strongly as a teenager and was super active in the church-Worship team, Sunday School, etc. After I graduated college, I started working retail which made me have to work Sundays and I sort of fell away. I still believed, try to read the Bible and pray daily but not going to church.
I found your videos earlier this year, and I have become so much more invigorated. I got a study Bible, started watching you and Bible Project and have developed such a thirst for God's word.
I'm making steps to get back into finding a church home and figuring out how to make that work with my Job, but for now I've at least set aside a day off as a Sabbath.

You are so right about secondary issues. I quit following people on RUclips who call out every preacher that doesn't fit with their form of theology. We Christians need to unite!

I’ve heard you mention a few times that baptism is a secondary issue. With all grace and respect, baptism is NOT a secondary issue. We are commanded in scripture to baptize others for salvation and we are commanded to be baptized. It was commanded by Jesus when he issued the great commission, Jesus himself submitted to baptism, Paul was baptized at his conversion, the Ethiopian eunuch was baptized, Peter on the day of Pentecost preached baptism for the forgiveness of sins. Baptism is a primary issue and scripture is clear, we are to be baptized for the forgiveness of sins. That doesn’t sound secondary to me.
Of course that is not all that is required. Believing Gods word, repenting, living a new life are all required as well.
From my perspective, it's not about baptism per se, it's more about the added "rules" that "The Church" has a habit of putting on people (i.e. the 12-week study that you "must" do, age limits, when it can be done etc) before they can be baptised.

Amen and amen and amen! I've been a Christian longer than you've been alive. The longer I serve Him..... The more I realize He wants me to show love..... real love whether I agree with their lifestyle or not! Not approval... just pure LOVE ❤️. I have been shocked and appalled at the so called Christian channels that tear other Christians apart because of differences in beliefs!

Wow once again I did not expect such a deep topic in this video. Thank you. It reminds me of the older brother, the first son who us forgotten in the prodigal son story. He was the obedient and the good one who stayed with father but did not like or really know him. The second son was lost and found and really met God. We, church goers, religious people may look nice but could be judgmental and full of complex, comparing minds and envy…
But our love should be our apologetics because we are loved by God, God loved us first.

I love your videos, Faith. Let's all pray for those that say those types of comments because they haven't known His love or had a relationship with Him. When people repel/argue the word of God I just pray for them that they may one day have a relationship with him.

Thank you for this ❤️ I am hosting my first Messianic Passover Seder and it’s taken me months to learn about it and the richness, depth and the foreshadowing of Christ in it all has blown me away. God is so exact and in every single detail. I really think Christians forget so much of what really matters. Even I “identify” more in a reformed camp of theology but I’ve seen so much nastiest in those circles. We’re supposed to look different than the world. Loving our brethren is what will make us look different and have the non believers say, “hey, what kind of love is that? How and why do you ‘Christian’s’ love each other that way?” But sadly, most nonbelievers only see inner bickering.

You are so right about showing forgiveness and grace. Back in high school, there was a girl that I used to get in fights with quite frequently. One day, I got a strong feeling that God wanted me to forgive her for the things she said about and to me. He wanted me to apologize for the things I said to and about her. The next day when I got to school, I told her what God told me, and we never fought again after that.

Andy Stanley had a sermon last week about just this...how Gods righteous people so easy become "self-righteous"...and how a whatching world meets these judging christians and thats why people leave the church or wants to have nothing to do with it.. Its so sad...we should be known for beeing the most loving, gracious people there is! Not the other way around.

I appreciate that. I forget sometimes that the Lord delights in me... I know that sounds silly, but when you get messages all day long from strangers, you start to believe them. In fact, when I am reading this now, I just read two mean comments and my heart is breaking! Amen to this post!! I believe one of satan's greatest tools is keeping Christians divided with these "secondary issues"! My father has always said that the devil does his best work in the church...and he is so correct! Jesus simply said, "If I be lifted up, I (not you or me) will draw all men to me!" It is not my job to be someone's Holy Spirit. My job is to lift up Jesus, show love and grace, and they will see how much HE has changed my life and can change theirs. I stumbled across your videos a few weeks ago, have already watched many of them, and I find you to be SUCH a blessing. Thank you for putting yourself out there, and spreading the love and grace of Jesus!!

🙌🏽 word - would you make a video on how to address non secondary false teachings? How to address religion that are twisting gospel on its head while believing they are the real and only remanent church?
You briefly touched on something that has been a struggle for me. For most, Calvinism vs. Arminianism is a secondary issue. However, my husband and I both agree that Calvinism, particularly limited atonement, is such a tragic way to process scripture. He believes it treads the line of heresy. Are we the only ones who struggle with this?

There are many Christians I watch on youtube or Christians in my life who I know if we got into the nitty gritty of all the secondary issues we would find both some agreement and some disagreement but there is still a lot to be learnt from people we disagree with (even if no one is swayed to change their opinion) and as you said yourself, if we live by the reality of the sacrifice of Jesus then we have the capacity to have grace in those conversations when they do come up and to grow together on the same foundation of the cross. Perhaps also while we spend our time focusing on internal conflicts in the church, we are spending too little time stepping out to share the gospel with those who don't know it yet
What you say is correct and yet secondary issues must be reconciled according to Biblical principles. Secondary issues reconciled according to the current culture becomes the slippery slope that eventually creeps into primary issues and leads to apostasy. Our admonition is to have discernment as to the “when” and where of discussing an issue AND always “in love” (correct motivation, tone, and words). Congrats on graduating seminary😊
I’ve come across quite a few non believers that have done a wonderful job in loving their neighbor as themselves! It makes me sad that there are believers haven’t been able to do so.

Hey Faith I just came across your content, I appreciate your tips on studying. I’m not sure if you have made a video on this per say. I gather celebrating holidays would fall under a secondary issue and I understand the Passover leading up to Jesus’s resurrection. I’m just don’t get where Easter itself stems from and plays a role in all of that, and or celebrating any holidays for the most part.
Superb! My approach is that any person who calls my Father his or her Father, and who embraces the teaching of Jesus to the best of their ability, I call brother or sister. Meanwhile there will inevitably be one or two people, or even a few people, who will follow your channel for the sole reason of criticising. I have a few regulars on the God's Cottage Channel. Sometimes I choose to challenge. Sometime I just give them a verbal blessing like, "May you come to experience to love of Jesus"
Lol I do the same thing. Most the time it’s not worth the emotional stress, they don’t want the truth, they just want an outlet for their anger a lot of

Amen to all this! The problem is, there will always be Christians who take the principle that Christians must believe everything in God's Word (which is true), but then say, "Scripture clearly teaches this [even if on a "secondary" issue], so if you don't believe it, it must mean you don't _really_ believe Scripture at all and thus you're at best a weak believer who needs to be rebuked." So I think underlying this is not only a spirit of judgment as you mention, but also just a naïve, overly simplistic view of Scripture that usually underplays the human element of the authorship. That's why many of your videos are so important, breaking down hermeneutics for a general audience.
