    Nice fix Mark! I was diagnosed with ALS over a year ago and it is getting harder everyday to physically get around. I am only 57 and always loved aviation starting with balsa rubber power to R/C to ultralights in the 80’s. Now I have to settle for my RUclips aviation community to keep my mind away from my problems, you are apart of that! Keep up the good work and I’ll keep looking forward to your video’s, Greg.

      Thank you Greg. I'll soon have some good Cruzer flying videos posted as well as the entire Super Duty build!

      I sure hear you on this one....I came down with what I thought was EOL Bells Palsy, had a walker and I could barely use it..I'm down to a cane now..... that was Oct.'19,.. it was a struggle to function for 3 months, I still walk like a drunk. So my thing is these great RUclips folks and the videos they post,...my spirits are really lifted every time I get a great new post, Mark is one of my favorites.
      My Best to you.

    The way you did it Mark, was the only way to do it in my opinion. Simple, yet effective. When painted, no one will ever know there was a problem, and will look as good as it previously did. No sense in making it any harder than it had to be. Great job.

    Was the bump in the driveway a joke? New to the channel and I wasn't sure if you were kidding. Or is the front landing gear not secure completely yet or something? Just wondering.

    • @KitplaneEnthusiast
      @KitplaneEnthusiast  4 года назад

      No joke. It might not look like it in the video but if I roll over it fast it’s almost like driving your car over a small speed bump. I just try to go slow over that part of the ramp.

    If you really want to eliminate the 'Echos' try putting some 'Soft Surfaces' on the walls or just simply hang a few things on them. There's even one really unconventional idea that works remarkably well. Egg Cartons (the Bottoms) , believe it or not it works.

    • @KitplaneEnthusiast

      I've been wanting to find some large aviation or even hot rod banners I can hang on my large white walls. Any idea on where I can find those?

    • @KitplaneEnthusiast

      I agree. I think it was wishful thinking that I would only have to drill out a few rivets, but that didn't work. At least now it's done right and I won't have any other issues with it.

    Do you not see control issues with the trailing edge of the elevator (trim tab specifically) having such a pillowed skin profile? On an Van's RV, you'd have issues with that kind of profile. Also regarding the colour, that's one reason why fibreglass aircraft are always painted white.

    • @KitplaneEnthusiast
      @KitplaneEnthusiast  3 года назад

      How do you know? Have you ever flown an RV with that trim tab profile? It works just fine.

    • @simonbaxter8001
      @simonbaxter8001 3 года назад

      @@KitplaneEnthusiast My RV-6A had that profile on an aileron and you could feel buffet in the stick at high speed plus a bit of roll. I guess thst may be down to the speed range differences between the RV and the Zenith! Probably not an issue at those lower speeds.

      The composite builders can tell you the colours (UK spelling) that you could use .Wet lay up epoxy softens when hot so they use mild colours .Light blue and yellow are popular .Hope this helps .

    Shouldn't be wise to leave the painting to the very last, after the 40 hrs, with all the fixes done?

    • @KitplaneEnthusiast
      @KitplaneEnthusiast  4 года назад

      Yes it's possible, but to paint the aircraft after it is completed and flying requires a huge amount of disassembly in order to paint.

    • @garyreed2206
      @garyreed2206 4 года назад

      In a perfect world .... However, there is an issue with Balanced Control Surfaces to prevent flutter, which need to be balanced AFTER painting. So, you can RE-Balance after painting or you can fly around with an unpainted airplane with painted control surfaces.

Just a fleeting thought, wonder how hot the New Zealands Black 777 is ?.... bet it is super hot when it is on the ground... wonder if they had/have expansion issues.... hmmmm. Nice morning video for me, you have a nice Zenith... hope the next one has a unique paint scheme too.

  • @rogerolander458
    @rogerolander458 4 года назад

    Are you sure about that epoxy fill? As a rule epoxy doesn't bond (or bond well) to plastic - I hope you aren't setting yourself up for a future redo if the hole plugs start popping out under the strain of thermal expansion and contraction down the road.

    Nice job. Glad to hear you are going to build a 750 SD STOL. Any chance you can do an update video on your neighbors V8 Velocity? Did he get it flying?

    • @KitplaneEnthusiast
      @KitplaneEnthusiast  4 года назад

      Len had to remove his gearbox on his engine fro some work. I keep asking if I can film an update video and he wants to wait until he gets the gearbox back, which of course is taking a lot longer than he anticipated. I do plan on more updates on his airplane all the way up to the flight tests. So as soon as he will let me, I'll start filming updates again.

      @@KitplaneEnthusiast Thanks so much. I myself want to build a Z-750-SD. I would like to update the landing gear with a shock system. No one has done that yet. I love the Velocity. I look forward to seeing how that LS V8 turns out. Also watching Peter's Raptor as well.

    You could use paint blending like TRANSTAR 6363 Melt Away Edge Blender - 15 oz. Aerosol it works great for cars paint

    • @KitplaneEnthusiast
      @KitplaneEnthusiast  4 года назад

      I know that there are ways to blend paint, but I've never experimented with that and I'm afraid I'd just screw it up and make it worse! It's actually easier for me to just repaint the entire tip.

    • @pierreandrews1279
      @pierreandrews1279 4 года назад

      If you could paint the aircraft you could do the blend so easy to do i show it to a guy last week and could not believe it how easy it was try it on a piece of painted metal and paint it a spot a different color and blend it you will be amazed
