I have a question for you if I can add lift up 2inch plus my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo can’t use 4x2(“don’t have cv axle and etc”)? I felt like match for me I love it 🥰
I want to lift my Jeep WK2, so I'm considering a simple Rough Country 2.5" spacer lift kit, or a full suspension+2.5" lift replacement like this one. Since you've driven both types of kits, as well as stock suspension, would you say that this Dobinsons suspension is harder, or softer than the stock suspension (for on-road comfort on potholes or speed bumps, etc)? Also, how much ride comfort do you lose by going with the 2.5" Rough Country spacer lift kit? I imagine you must lose a bit, since it pre-compresses the springs a bit to get the full 2.5" lift... I just want to make sure I'm not sacrificing that much ride quailty/comfort to get the lift. Thanks!
Hey! Comfort was a major concern for me too. The spacer stiffens things a little bit, but I’m telling you it’s nothing. It’s a good compromise for the look because you’re not giving up much. My spacer was just the 2” front level. The Dobinsons lift I like better than the stock. But what’s cool about Dobinsons is you can pick what springs you want with the kit. Soft/medium/HD. If you want like stock squish. Go with the soft. I am running medium springs so that I can carry all my gear. It supports up to 400 extra lbs. so they are a little stiffer and great off-road. But even on road over speed bumps it has the right about of squish and recovers right away. I don’t miss the stock suspension. You won’t be upset with either. But…. I don’t know how the RC 2.5 spacer feels but I wouldn’t imagine too bad.
I wanted to get a trailhawk but im not sure if they automatically come with air ride suspension. Im not sure if you would be able to delete the air ride for a coil conversion? Looks sick btw man.
Pretty sure all the trailhawks come with quadralift air suspension. However, I've seen on another channel (can't recall which one) where they converted it to coils (seemed pretty straight forward too). I just wish someone would make a longer travel air suspension so that it could still raise and lower with the stock system.
@@rictor8252you are correct, trailhawks have the quadralift. Funky WK2 is the channel that converted his ql to coils. It’s basically this job but taking out the air springs and putting in the coils. Then there is using alfaobd to turn off the air suspension codes it’ll throw.
Haha 😂 feels great off-road, nice and sturdy with still enough squish. Not too stiff not too soft. I went with the medium springs. Holds all my gear without a mast sag.
i see you also had to zip tie your wheel speed sensors to the spindle, i couldnt figure out for the life of me how to get the clip on the backside out of the hole lol. how do you like the dobinson vs RC? i just did the supreme suspensions lift which is v similar to the RC on mine.
I’ve never ran the RC lift but I haven’t heard too many good things about it. I’ve seen where a strut just completely collapsed after a year. I’m a little harder on my Jeep with the amount of off-roading I do so I shelled out for the Dobinsons and I love it so far. It feels better than the stock ride. I may go to a stiffer spring in the future but it’s awesome for now. From what I’m told the RC lift is more for looks and can’t take a good beating. But I’m not sure from my own experience.
@@GrandExploration it's just a spacer plate same as the ones you had on the stock struts. I also did the ones in the back for the shocks and springs. Supreme Suspensions is a little bit more expensive but you don't have to cut the bolts or turn the hat 180° like the RC so that alone was worth it to me lol. I'll dm you the link on insta
Being our first time and having to go buy some new parts like strut mounts since mine were stuck to my old spacers and! Trying to film. It took us two days. But if we had to do it again without complications it would take a good part of the day. Anywhere from about 6-8 hrs roughly. I would say.
@@Wk2. awesome man. Yea I just forgot which ones they were. I’ll get back to you later today with the answer to that haha. But whatever lights you go with just make sure the bulb is not round or forward facing. You want a bulb that faces 9-3 it works best with the projector setup of the wk2 fog. Otherwise it will be dim
“That’s what he said.” 😂
Wonderful, thank you so much!

Are you asking if you can do the lift on a 4X2?
Is this a diesel model? It looks amazing it’s not very exaggerated but looks awesome in the same time 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you. No it’s actually the 3.6.

@@GrandExploration Awesome, thanks for the pointers!
Hey, can you leave the part number of the front shocks you used.
IMS-29-50732
It’s the only one available for the 2015

I’m not sure if the trail hawk does. But yes there are conversions. I know for sure that Dobinsons does a coil over conversion for their ims lift

Nice write up fellas. Can I borrow big man for my install? Haaa.
How’s the Jeep feel off road?

What are the rocker-panel guards?
Those are from off-road animal.
How much time did it take ? Looks dope
It was my first time doing something like this so it took the better part of 2days. With the experience now I would say a full day.
You know things don’t always go as planned with this stuff.
Facts
I have a 2015 high altitude 4x2 will that fit mine?
I believe it should. If you go on Dobinsons site, it will give you the opportunity to enter your vehicle specs and it will tell you for sure.
Im trying to do a lift on my Cherokee what lift did you use man yours looks sick though it inspired me to do mine haha
Nice. This is the Dobinsons IMS full coil over suspension lift 2.5”

But I heard that RC has come out with some better stuff now.
You know I noticed it was zip tied when I bought the Jeep so I just re zipped it again hahaha
I can’t say I’ve heard of the supreme lift. What is that?

How does it ride?
Haven’t gone off-road with it yet but on road it feels real sturdy. Little stiff but that’s what I needed.

@@vict1036 thank you!
Safety Suggestion, Never put your body on top springs that are compressed
That would require us to have common sense my brother haha. Thanks
Nice!
Nivomat shocks on the rear?
No sir not on mine
But dobinsons had an option for Nivomat
Thanks bro 👍🏽
You bet
🔥🔥🔥
What size tires?
275/65/18. Yokahoma MT comes out to a 32.5
Awesome! Looks amazing I’m going to lift my wk2 soon this year. I have a 2.5 coil lift from rough country.
Also could I ask what leds are you running in your fog lights? Im thinking of going with the yellow on mine as well

Thanks man! I appreciate the info! Keep up the good work! Your wk2 is badass!!!
bro, you should got one with air suspension.
it would have taken 20 minutes.
Air suspension has too many problems. Coil over is the way to go for off-roading. A lot of people switching their air suspension for coil over
Will it fit Durango Suspension?
Not sure. I know they are similar but that never crossed my mind
