Sweet Child O'Mine is one of those songs that sound great regardless of what decade you're in. It sounds just as good now as it did in 1987 when I first heard it.
pretty bullet wow, was it really 87? I was somehow thinking of the 90's. I remember watching it on mtv so many times when it 1st came out , forgot how long it's been
I was pregnant when it came out and it was around 1987 or 1988,,that's the only reason that I remember the year it was released. I was as big as a side of a barn at that time and I remember looking up at MTV while it was playing. My friend and I were practically drooling while it was playing. Axl Rose was so hot at that time and the band was so good.
This is the Guns & Roses I will always remember and treasure but I gotta say, I've seen the new line up twice now, and as much as I hate to admit it, the new line up isn't exactly bad either and Axl's voice has never sounded stronger or has better range. With age has come maturity as well and his stage performance is more stable and consistent as well. Still, the line up of Axl, Slash, Duff & company is what I will always remember as bringing real "rock" back to the fore front. Thanks for posting this! Great memories.
+Jim Davis Sorry I missed your post Jim. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Doing the best I can to do the things I love. Thanks man. Have a great week.
+MrMike9158 Mike, it looks like the new lineup is now the old lineup, with the reunion coming. I wonder whether you'll be missing the old-new lineup when the reunion happens.....
My daughter and I took photos at the Gun's & Rose's Denver concert in 1991at the Denver Coliseum. ..or Bear Stadium as it was called back then. Ice Tea opened for them and Metalica followed..quite a show. AXL did one song then was gone for a long time..maybe it was close to a half hour. He had his problems but the rest of the show was amazing. We were there as a team to cover the show, yet we we're fans of his and his group. I sm sure glad I went or I never would have enoyed the music of the 80s and 90s as I did. I had seen the Beatles at Red Rocks and then these guys....she saw Motley Crue , KISS, Mega Deth and coutless others, but tonight my late daughter's daughter saw Alice Cooper , Poison AND Motley Crue. ..... the music plays on for this family. :) Thank you so much for the video.
I lost my mind at 17, half a world away from "the love of my life", when I heard this for the first time. I wish I could have such an intense emotional experience at my age now to today's music. Dig deep kids.
We fuckin' rocked in the 70's & 80's. This crap they listen to nowdays all has the same beat and zero raw power. Like when you went to a concert and feel your jeans blowing back against your legs w/the music. Powerful.
guns n roses are back! I'm so excited to watch slash, axl,Adler back on stage.axl sounds amazing!! it's been way to long but it was definitely worth the wait.
My favorite band since I was 3 yrs old ... i used to rock to this and still love it 30 yrs later ... there will never be a band like them ... the music is eternal
When my son was actually just delivered this was on the radio in the birthing suite as he opened his eyes for the first time, the emotion just swept over me and cried my eyes out. He is now 24 years old, but I still get emotional every time this plays.
My son was born in '75. I heard this song first coming from his boom box. A lot of time has passed since then, but this song is just the FIRST of MANY I would hear first through my son. In fact, 41 years later, he's STILL turning me on to new or forgotten music! LOVE that kid!!!!!
When slash starts his phenomenal riffs while playing the guitar, it seems so smooth and silky, that I tell myself, oh, I can do that? "NOT!" In my dreams. Some of us know by now that Slash is one of the greatest guitar player. Then, Axl, with his high pitched unique vocals, makes this classical song so fantastic,( along with the other members of the band).
This IS the original full version video, not the full song, but full version video, for those who complain at the comments, check at the vevo sweet child o mine video and you´ll notice the diference
was my dads song to me before him and my mom divorced and he went to the navy we would listen to this together before i would fall asleep. my dad passed in 2013 and just listening to this song helps me
I was at a party in Los Angeles in 1989. I was not into metal or the scene. I was with a buddy who was. This song playing and I was standing around by myself and all of a sudden this beautiful girl was standing next to me. I looked like a nerd and she looked like of one the girls in this video. We talked for a long time, she was nice. I asked her out and she said yes. She told me where she worked and gave me her number. I never called her. I was an idiot. Every time I hear this song I think about that girl and wonder if she was the one.
Dude I have 15, and I will tell you something, u lost maybe a beautiful future with that girl, yes you was an idiot because you lost maybe a wonderful family. Dude you give me a lesson, if I see a beautiful girl and she began talk me I will call her in the future... you make me cry like
+DonDraperism , I do agree with Ross Gellers comment "everything happens for a reason". I think we are all here to learn life's lessons. Some can be easy, hard, loving, hurtful and mean. Bottom line we try to learn, listen. feel and think about what the lesson has shown. You sound like you really regret what you done and perhaps if something similar would happen to you again, you had already learned that life lesson, and call the lady. It's the what ifs that drives me crazy, I have a large list. Sometimes it was just what is meant to be.my friend. we shall never know.
I know looking back that it seems like a dumb move not to call her but who knows where she would have led your life? maybe your 6th sense was protecting you!
Mark, please don't think I'm being pernickety - I'm a massive '85-'93 Guns fan - but I'm pretty sure Alanis Morissette 'Jagged Little Pill' is the biggest selling debut ever. I remember reading in a reputable music-magazine, around 10 years ago, that it had already, then, sold over 30 million copies. I can believe it, 'cause it crossed over, men as well as women bought the album, young boys and young girls both bought her album. I can't imagine non-rock-loving mum's in their 40's buying 'Appetite', but, obviously, many bought 'Jagged Little Pill' thanks to 'Ironic' etc.. But, yeah, you've gotta be right, 'Appetite' must be the best-selling rock / hard rock album ever, especially by a band, as opposed to a solo-artist... Wikipedia says 'Appetite' has sold around 28 million copies... I read recently, somewhere more reliable than Wiki, that's it's over 30, but it's still behind JLP.
mark james Yep. Granted. Hold my hands up, there. You're spot on. JLP was her third album. But, I'm still sure I read somewhere that JLP was number one on some list... may've been ''the biggest-selling album by a FEMALE artist, but of 'original' material.''... Pretty sure 'The Bobyguard' soundtrack by Whitney Houston is the biggest-selling female album in history, but it's not her own material. Who can forget her classic-cover, that mega smash-hit.. 'I Will Always Love You' from 'The Bodyguard' starring Kevin Costner... I know that Adele's 21 album, with 'Someone Like You' is definitely the biggest-selling BRITISH female album ever... may've sold more than the men as well, but don't quote me on that.
She's got a smile it seems to me Reminds me of childhood memories Where everything Was as fresh as the bright blue sky Now and then when I see her face She takes me away to that special place And if I'd stare too long I'd probably break down and cry Oh, oh, oh Sweet child o' mine Oh, oh, oh, oh Sweet love of mine She's got eyes of the bluest skies As if they thought of rain I hate to look into those eyes And see an ounce of pain Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place Where as a child I'd hide And pray for the thunder And the rain To quietly pass me by Oh, oh, oh Sweet child o' mine Oh, oh, oh, oh Sweet love of mine Oh, oh, oh, oh Sweet child o' mine Oh, oh, oh, oh Sweet love of mine Oh, oh, oh, oh Sweet child o' mine Oh, Sweet love of mine Where do we go? Where do we go now? Where do we go? Oh, oh Where do we go? Oh, Where do we go now? Where do we go? Oh, (sweet child) Where do we go now? Oh, Where do we go now? Oh, Where do we go? Oh, Where do we go now? Oh, Where do we go? Where do we go now? Where do we go? Oh, Where do we go now? No, no, no, no, no, no Sweet child, Sweet child of mine
At Camp Liberty we had a Thai bus driver that played GNR nonstop! It was our SIGNAL that we were going on or returning from VACATION! Happy thoughts : )
GnR was a breath of fresh air in the late 80s. They had an edge to them that the other mainstream metal bands just did not have. Axl and Slash created a sound that will last generations!
I've always 'dedicated' this song to my second born (She's 26) & without doubt this is the song she will get up & dance to wherever & whoever she's with!!
Thank God this was my High School era! I guess everyone feels that way in the era they grew up in but I truly believe growing up in the 80-90s was one of the most innovative and ground breaking moments for music if not just pop culture.
6 days before I gave birth to my 3rd child in 1990 walked into a bar somewhere on 61/67 in Jefferson County, MO somewhere around Imperial or Barnhart I think, well to make long story short. there was this head bangings band, with the big long hair, black eyeliner, and leotards, big platform cloggy lookin shoes. man these guys were hot. they rocked out to "Sweet Child of mine." i danced my ever living ass of till I cramped. Dancing with the father of my child, he was swaying and singing. to my big fat belly, well actually our child. I was elated with the music my man and my soon to be baby boy .and I would love to thank that band for giving me a memory of my life wished I knew your name. it was around the 14th , 15th of August 1990. Thank you, so absolutely headbanging awesome real rockers. just wished I could remember name,e of your band. and thank you Axle Rose for that great song, and yes, to Axle.... I am one of those. St. Louis, missourian😜😝😛😎😆😘😃😙😝😎😵
i must mention here the incredible bass line Duff complimented Slash and Izzy with at the opening; that is one of the most beautifully written supporting bass melodies i have ever heard. I started to believe this more and more when M. Dirnt said the same during their induction into the H.O.F. These guys are special.
This song was on the second CD I ever bought when I was about twelve years old. I heard this song at least 300 times and it is never boring. I like the intensity of the vocals and the guitar solo so much and it should be one of the major reasons why I started to play guitar. Sheryl Crow should watch this again and decide whether to record a new cover version :).
Oh, man. . . damn near thirty years, and the memories are just as sharp as a razor blade. For years afterward, I couldn't even be in the room if this song played, or Journey's "Faithfully", or "Livin' on a prayer." But this was- is- the song that always brings her memory back as clear as broken glass.
How many tracks released this century can evoke memories with an opening like Sweet Child o' Mine. More to the point, how many "stars" can take their stuff on the road and sound as good without the studio. I may be 63 but I've grown up in the greatest part of the last century for music.
Still love this song !! GNR's Rock Legends. Those were the days of awesome music. Rock, soft rock, even Rap and Early hip hop. Today's music cannot hold a candle to them.Too bad they couldn't overcome their obstacles. Still love their music
I had the great opportunity to give a ride in my limousine to Slash from Guns and Roses a couple of years ago. I picked him up a hotel in West Hollywood and took him to his home. Very nice, but very serious person!!
School speed zones should be eliminated or raised.. To depopulate these unworthy living breeding artificial music loving bastards!
+ALSILVERU2 EDGY
Hey, I'm a kid but I love old music. Everyone says that I must have come from the past.
same here 12 almost 13 and I love this type of music just to bad I wasn't around to go to a concert
Me also.
Ouch! I just cut myself on that edge!
Sweet Child O'Mine is one of those songs that sound great regardless of what decade you're in. It sounds just as good now as it did in 1987 when I first heard it.

80s not 70s pal
Richard Vert 80s music has its place. Modern music has its place. 80s was edgy, nowadays is about being ready to party and to be creative.
***** yes it was I was there and it was Bitchen...
Hi guys I was there I lived it loved it and still do enjoy it it's good music dance till the sun comes up yeah baby
Richard Vert Theres a few from the 90s that were unique. But I agree mostly. Gimme DIO, GnR, Metallica or Poison anyday.
Came home from work one afternoon....took a nap..well sort of.....the opening bars of this song immediately woke me out of my stupor....great music!
This version is awesome. I am 63 years old and still groovin'!!!
This is my favorite song, out of all of Guns & Roses's songs!!!

I miss these days.... Will it ever come around again ?

It’s 2017 and I’m still listening to this
2022
She's got a smile it seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything
Was as fresh as the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that special place
And if I'd stare too long
I'd probably break down and cry
Oh, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Sweet love of mine
She's got eyes of the bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I hate to look into those eyes
And see an ounce of pain
Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place
Where as a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder
And the rain
To quietly pass me by
Oh, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Sweet love of mine
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Sweet love of mine
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Oh,
Sweet love of mine
Where do we go?
Where do we go now?
Where do we go?
Oh, oh
Where do we go?
Oh,
Where do we go now?
Where do we go?
Oh, (sweet child)
Where do we go now?
Oh,
Where do we go now?
Oh,
Where do we go?
Oh,
Where do we go now?
Oh,
Where do we go?
Where do we go now?
Where do we go?
Oh,
Where do we go now?
No, no, no, no, no, no
Sweet child,

At Camp Liberty we had a Thai bus driver that played GNR nonstop! It was our SIGNAL that we were going on or returning from VACATION!
Happy thoughts : )
the greatest rock band of all time...end of discussion...Appetite for destruction is a damn classic...
I don't usually listen to heavy metal...but this song has one of the best heavy metal guitar solos ever.
Guns n Roses heavy metal? Hahaha!
This is hard/glam rock!
OK...heavy metal, hard glam...all the same to me.
GnR was a breath of fresh air in the late 80s. They had an edge to them that the other mainstream metal bands just did not have. Axl and Slash created a sound that will last generations!
Dreamy guitar playing.
slash going back to GUNS AND ROSES *****************************************

6 days before I gave birth to my 3rd child in 1990 walked into a bar somewhere on 61/67 in Jefferson County, MO somewhere around Imperial or Barnhart I think, well to make long story short. there was this head bangings band, with the big long hair, black eyeliner, and leotards, big platform cloggy lookin shoes. man these guys were hot. they rocked out to "Sweet Child of mine." i danced my ever living ass of till I cramped. hi. Wildman. 😄
I named my cats Axl, Slash & Duff.
Who else was watching and listening to this on MTV in 1988!
Are you lost your mind? this 2018 no 1988 don't smoke that shit, you are still high.
i must mention here the incredible bass line Duff complimented Slash and Izzy with at the opening; that is one of the most beautifully written supporting bass melodies i have ever heard. I started to believe this more and more when M. Dirnt said the same during their induction into the H.O.F. These guys are special.
Maybe the video is uncut, but the song is cut, the intro is missing a few bars and the solo in the middle is half missing too.
Wow, really, would never even known until saw your comment - sounds perfect :) thou
do any of you care about the fact that this fucking shit ROCKS !!!! why are u tearing the details apart when the finished product is perfect?
This was his best of time's tune til he kinda ....... slid down hill ........ LOL.
kiki campbell Why doesn't anyone just revel in the MOMENT? Damned fine song and nothing else matters.
That's Slash playing awesome guitar
Slash is awesome thou, he also was on English programme Top Gear so funny & sound guy! :) Greetings from Ireland
This song was on the second CD I ever bought when I was about twelve years old. I heard this song at least 300 times and it is never boring. I like the intensity of the vocals and the guitar solo so much and it should be one of the major reasons why I started to play guitar. Sheryl Crow should watch this again and decide whether to record a new cover version :).
anyone else get the high pitch bleep noise at the beginning of the solo?
Yea, I did too. Must be something with the audio.
yeah.
Slash was changing from rythem to treble on his guitar. They all do that.
FlySoHigh420 that wasn't it at all, trust me. It was on a different level of audio
Not the guitar, audio glitch of some kind.
cuando valia la pena escuchar a guns n´ roses
this song always makes me want to play guitar hero

You truly never forget a good song
First time I heard this song I was in love with Guns-n-Roses. Now I am a totally
country girl. This song is awesome and so are all of yours.
Always my favorite Song by the guys their Awesome I remember the first time they hit the scene on MTV w / this cool Song ( 80 ' s ) Rocks !!!
They helped us break out of that 80's sound. Thank you GNR.
Oh, man. . . damn near thirty years, and the memories are just as sharp as a razor blade. For years afterward, I couldn't even be in the room if this song played, or Journey's "Faithfully", or "Livin' on a prayer." But this was- is- the song that always brings her memory back as clear as broken glass.
probably my fav track--off their best album--by them. i will never get tired listening to this classic.
Slash and his solo is still the best solo till this day I'm 22 and to the day no other solo can beat that!!! OMG in heaven
actually like the solo from White Lion's wait better, but this is def top five.
Takes me back to my early teens watching this on MTV. Nice.
this is one of the best music videos out there
How many tracks released this century can evoke memories with an opening like Sweet Child o' Mine. More to the point, how many "stars" can take their stuff on the road and sound as good without the studio. I may be 63 but I've grown up in the greatest part of the last century for music.
Great video! thank you for your post... loved this
Favourite song of all time from my favourite band of all time.
Still love this song !! GNR's Rock Legends. Those were the days of awesome music. Rock, soft rock, even Rap and Early hip hop. Today's music cannot hold a candle to them.Too bad they couldn't overcome their obstacles. Still love their music
Houvir Guns é muito bom. Adoro relembrar essas músicas...bate uma saudades.Tempo bom q não volta mais! 25 anos atrás.
I had the great opportunity to give a ride in my limousine to Slash from Guns and Roses a couple of years ago. I picked him up a hotel in West Hollywood and took him to his home. Very nice, but very serious person!!
....sure
Awesome! Never seen this version before
Thers another version I have it in my house if you wanna come take a look at it 🤔
Best guitar lead break of all time.
This has to be the pinnacle of Guns N Roses , the whole band were on fire, and clicked , a great song and video, its such a pity they are gone
This song has passed the test of time, love love it!!!!
