- Sobre essa Musica Slash afirma que Paradise City foi escrita na parte traseira de uma van alugada, quando voltavam de um show em São Francisco com a banda Jetboy. Toda a banda estava bebendo e tocando violão, quando de repente ele veio com a introdução e logo em seguida, Duff McKagan e Izzy Stradlin começaram a tocar junto com ele. Slash iniciou sussurrantemente uma melodia, e então Axl Rose cantou: "Take me down to the Paradise City". A banda continuou escrevendo a letra da canção no restante da viagem, e Slash fez os últimos reparos no riff criado.
