    21:30 I think you are talking about kolonya (it's made from lemon and contains about 60% - 80% alcohol)....it's used as refreshment and also as a hand sanitizer, for example, after a meal. You can used it on your hands and face (but make sure to avoid the eyes because of the alcohol!!!!). If you go into any supermarket you can find many different brands that produce kolonya...buy it when you get the chance, it's smells awesome and is a good reminder of your time in Turkey.

    I visited Hagia Sophia in 2019 when it was still a museum with all the decos of an orthodox Christian church. Beautiful 😍
    Erenler Hookah is an interesting place to have Turkish tea and coffee ☕️ and see how the locals enjoy their hookah.

      @@TheRoamingPickels add Cermberlitas Hamami for Turkish Bath too. It was built in the 15th century and is still in use.

    I’m Turkish and even i fell for the shoe polishing scam when i was new in Istanbul. Dont feel silly :) My advise if you visit again Turkey, dont enter every phone shop. Enter only the shops which are official Turkcell, Vodafone or Türk Telekom shops. The other small ones are unfortunately scamming sometimes tourists bcz tourists not knowing.

    Live in the Anatolian side. Kadikoy/Maltepe is the best part of lstanbul. Sea view, great weather, green, cosy and relaxed

    Nice Vlog and ahahaha that you give the Shoe shier money is realy sad , but its mostly only in Istanbul a scam in other Citys I dont see and hear about ;) . Wish you good and safe trip can recommended the Vlog from "Berry Istanbul tips " she is living in Istanbul but comes from Mexico and makes Videos abou everything ( Scams, Restaurants, sightseeing places etc.)

      Yes, we felt very silly after we got scammed but lesson learnt for next time! I have heard about her vlogs and watched a few since our time in Istanbul, very interesting 😊

    You should visit Sarıyer district. You can go there by metro and then with a bus. And you can turn back with ferry so you'd get to see whole bosphorus too.

    51 AUD for a basic sim card is just straight up a scam. I feel ashamed seeing lovely tourists being taken advantage of like this..

    The more difficult one is when you are asked to take their photo and then they drop the phone and ask for ridiculous amounts. Its difficult to refuse someone who asks you to take their photo.

      We stayed in Sisli (we think that is the name of the suburb, near Taksim Square). We are no longer there, but have since learnt maybe it wasn't the best choice of neighbourhoods?

    Rice with orzo (pasta) and Turkish noodle (Eriste) definitely try to travel Aegean or Mediterranean coast warmer is better Istanbul looks cold

    You're in the wrong neighbourhood. Go live in Kadıköy side instead of Tarlabaşı where drug dealing events occuring often. Just a sincere recommendation from an Istanbulian.

    Its 1:30 hr. in flight from Istanbul to Erbil city in the north of Iraq , I hope you can manage it to visit it at march or April before the summer , woundful diversity , mountains in the north , deserts in the west , marshes in the south .

      We obviously had to check out the main tourist sites, but judging by the majority of comments, it seems our Airbnb definitely wasn't in the tourist areas 😂

      Absolutely, not sure how we are going to get back into a normal routine... We have actually finished up in India, after 9 weeks we were ready to move on. We are now in SE Asia (Vietnam) and loving it!
