- After continuing our road trip through South India from Thanjavur in Rusty, The Roaming Rickshaw, our next destination is Madurai in Tamil Nadu. After eating some more traditional Indian food, we explore the stunning Meenakshi Amman Temple and are lucky to witness a unique ceremony taking place involving an elephant, before exploring the local market nearby.

There is an ancient marvels architecture in single mountain whole temple curved...

Karaikudi is about 80 kilometers from Madurai. It has ancient houses and major tourist sites. Chettinad cuisine is very famous here. If there is a chance to visit Karaikudi next time.

Hello, we started in Chennai and eventually made it back to Chennai. But unfortunately we filmed this in February and left India in April so we are no longer in the country. When you are in Madurai, you should try mutton biryani, jigarthanda (drink), mutton chukka and other non veg specialities. Find a top restaurant (you can search on the internet or ask the hotel lobby/locals for recommendation) and ask them for their best dish.

You are coping very well with heat. I just remembered a Japanese boy who travelled in an autorickshaw in India and got to meet Rajnikanth sir to take a pic at his home. He made a poster out of that and took the rickshaw back to Japan. Its on RUclips too.
