    How exciting to see the elephants in the wild. I can just imagine how nervous you were when you saw the tiger scratching marks.

      Difference between tamilnadu and Kerala are hard to be found. Only difference is that our state has more temples and Kerala has more churches. Apart from that language culture hospitality lovable people and nature all are very much similar 😂😂

    Sighting a tiger in Thekkady is very difficult due to the jungle terrain though there are 30 in that reserve according to last census.
    Bandhavgarh, Ranthambore and Tadoba-Andheri are the reserves which will guarantee one or multiple sightings.
    Thekkady is a haven to spot elephants and you can see them year round in the lake shore and especially during dry months.

    • @TheRoamingPickels
      @TheRoamingPickels  2 месяца назад

      Wow that's very interesting 😊 thankyou for the info

    • @Abraracourix
      @Abraracourix 2 месяца назад +1

      @@TheRoamingPickels No worries. Tigers are difficult to spot in the jungle terrain and unlike lions which are pack animals, tigers are solitary hunters unless they have cubs.
      Nagarahole in Northern Kerala/Karnataka has better odds of spotting a tiger but even that is a hit or miss and that reserve has 100 tigers and semi jungle terrain. The dry vegetation reserves look like Bandhavgarh and Ranthambore are guaranteed sightings due to the terrain as well as high density of tigers.
      I grew up in Madurai and have been to Thekkady umpteen times while growing up in India and never seen a tiger. It’s a great place to spot hundreds of elephants.
      That walking tour though, is a doozy 😀 Best to take the boat tour which is what most people do and it’s cheap and goes around the lake and you will most definitely see herds of elephants coming for water and more during dry months. You can also see the Indian Bison, like ts of deer and other animals but tigers are really rare to spot and I hardly know anyone who has spotted it tiger in that reserve.

      Not tamilnadu, it's Kerala.
      South India has 5 states Karnataka, Kerala, tamilnadu, Telangana and Andra Pradesh.
      Goa and pondicherry the union territories are also in the south of India.
      You can also include maharastra in the south but I don't know if maharashtrians like it or not 😊
