Have to agree with you wholeheartedly.! Have you watched his clips on stringed instruments.? They are great. They are called guitar town with Steve Earle. Like you, I'm so happy to see him clean again.! He has been very underrated in my opinion. He can put his heart into his songwriting that even some of the "greats" can't do. He will alway's be at the top of my A list. I don't agree with his politics but I certainly respect him and his opinions. And as Marty said, "my old friend the blues" is one of the greatest ever written. Stay well and keep listening to Steve.!
I'fe been a fan of Steve's for years and years, we grew up a little bit down the road from each other in Texas, as a recovering addict myself, I find great inspiration in his story. I've seen him many times over the years, he's coming back to Minneapolis in July, his music cheers my heart!

I am not a fan of Marty's look, but it is unfair to condemn with pop country lightweights who are more show than substance. Marty's look is a throwback to rockabilly and Elvis, and he has the talent to carry it. He is also one of the most important people trying to maintain the traditional country sound while not completely alienating the mainstream . His show gives exposure to more marginal artists like Steve and other alternative/outlaw artists. He's legit.
Marty is just Marty, I kind of like the retro look and the nudie suits. But above all, I agree with you. He's done so much and he is true to his roots.!
