    Pad see ew sauce
    3 tbsp soy sauce
    1 tbsp oyster sauce
    2 tsp thick soy sauce
    1 tablespoon brown sugar
    2 tsp rice vinegar
    1 tbsp water
In a bowl, mix the sauce ingredients together.
In another bowl, Marinate 1/4 lb of sliced protein with 2 tbsps of the sauce and 1 clove garlic, set aside for 10-15 minutes.
In a large wok, heat up the oil until smoking. Add the meat and cook until almost done. Add 2-3 cups of veggies (I used baby broccoli and bok choy) and cook until any liquid has evaporated. Add 1 egg at the bottom and scramble with the meat and veggies. Toss in about 3 cups or 1/4 lb of noodles. You can use fresh or dried here (cook it through first until al dente), eyeball depending on your preference. Toss with the sauce and mix mix mix until done!

    Kicap Manis (Kee-Chap Ma-nis)
Kee = like how you would say key
cap = chap like a chapstick
    Maa = like mama
Nis = tennis but only nis
This is how you pronounce it! Hope it helps 😇

Half way through the video I went back to watch/listen again and I was still puzzled AF. So I came to look at the comments and I read this, so what is Kicap Manis???

love this ! being thai, pad see ew is a staple in this house but my mom’s never added bokchoy before , it looks super yummy though ! and instead of adding vinegar to the sauce for cooking my family always serves pad see ew with optional vinegar and thai chili powder at the table to adjust for each person. almost like how you add the chili onion crunch ~

I discovered Pad See Ew from a Thai Restaurant in Dallas and I know that the Broccoli derivative is tradition, but have you ever heard of it with cabbage. Sliced like the noodle. Not replacing the noodle, but replacing the broccoli. I bet that would be excellent.

"Kecap Manis" (the word "Kecap" is from the English word "Ketchup" - so we say it like KETCHUP MAHNISE ) is actually an Indonesian condiment. It translates to "Sweet Soy Sauce". It's owned but the Heinz Company, same company that owns American Ketchup. lol

Love love LOVE pad see ew. I think kecap manis is used in Indonesian cooking. I laughed when you jumped back as the meat hit the wok. That's so me even though I have a million aprons around - now I have a million stains on all my nice clothes. Hahaha! BTW, those sheets of noodles can be used to make cheater banh cuon. That's how my sister-in-law does it since we're too lazy to sit around and babysit each pan while making it. Just heat it up in the microwave to separate it.

Put Dawn or Palmolive straight on the spots on your shirt (first rinse out as much as possible with cold running water in the sink) . Add the detergent and let sit for an hour at least , or over night. Wash and LINE dry. If some spots are still there, repeat with the detergent. Most if not all should disappear!
