Just getting started with mine. The kit is heavy at over 100 pounds, yet the FEDEX guy took it off the truck and walked it to the door by himself. I had to drag the box inside. With the screw complaints, I ordered enough #10 self tapping stainless screws ahead of time. The kit is pricey vs. wood, but makes it easy to get a base completed. I plan on using 2 x 12 ground contact instead of osb or plywood for the flooring. Packaging is minimal cardboard. My flashing has several dents. One C channel is also dented. I would expect 50% denting due to weight and the cardboard packaging used. I'll still give it 5 stars to save the hassle of building a wood foundation from scratch. BTW, the build videos from Lifetime are a DIY game changer. I have an 8 x 10 shed on order the covers assembly.
OMG! this is just so perfect for me. I am a renter and need a new bird avery. But I cant put a cement slab down. This idea will suite as long as I throw down some bags of heavy weight rocks inside the frame, will be just so perfect!! Thanks all the way from Australia!

It would be super helpful if the screws didn't strip so easily and if the holes that the screws go in were the actual correct size. Worked on putting mine together today and it was a nightmare. Even after drilling the holes slightly bigger (which I shouldn't have had to do) the screws still were a huge pain to get in and several got stripped in the process. It's definitely not as quick and simple as shown in this video unfortunately.
Yup. I am starting on section 1.1 and the screws do not seem correct. I have not got one in. I think I will measure the holes and than head to my local hardware store to find more suitable screws for this.
No kidding. I can't get one screw in. The connection piece holes are at least 2 sizes smaller and the screws aren't self tapping. At least provide self tapping screws if you're not going to correctly size the holes.
You can try to apply more pressure on the screws but with this particular situation it is okay to drill the holes a little bit bigger so those screws can grab the bracket. Hello. I purchased a lifetime shed recently. It is the 8 by 12.5 ft resin storage shed sold at costco. Would i be able to use 12 ft long lumber to build the foundation even though the shed is 12.5 ft long?
Ultimately did the platform measure 8x10 when all is done ? Why I ask is my shed manufacturer is suggesting that the platform be 92" 3/4 x 112" ( approx I'm going by memory ) Thanks
My platform only measures 94" wide assembled. Full sheets of osb/plywood measure 96"x48". So explain to me exactly how you claim to fit full length boards without cutting them down by 2 inches?

Exactly. This was my only solution. I thought it was going to just fit perfectly and of course I was given the pleasure of cutting 2 inches off each board by hand with a circular saw. Not ideal.
Greetings and Salutations The she shed I want doesn't come with a floor base (frame) it's metal..... Can empty paint can(s)/plastic milk jug Apply in this situation?? ✌️
Our sheds come with a plastic floor, but it's crucial to build them on a proper foundation. The foundation is crucial to the functionality of the shed and it is important for it to be done correctly. If the foundation is not level it will cause multiple issues with the build and performance of the shed. We recommend a foundation of either pressure treated wood or concrete for your shed. If you have any other questions, please reach out to our customer service experts. They can be reached at 800-225-3865 or by email at customercare@lifetime.com. Not necessarily. There a couple reasons why we use drainage holes. One being that the holes are for the foundation and not the shed itself. This will help the water drain out of the foundation when it gets on it. The other factor is that it will help the shed breathe in humid areas preventing rotting from moisture.
For us, a leveled surface is considered 93 1/2” x 118 1/4” (2,38 m 3,00 m). Make sure your foundation is this size. To know how much gravel you need, we'd recommend contacting a local landscaper to see the amount of gravel you would need.
Unfortunately, we only offer the 8x10 foundation kit on Lifetime.com. For all other shed sizes, you will need to build a foundation out of concrete or lumber. Refer to section 1 of your manual for the instructions on how to build an approved foundation.
That is not the only reason why you would use this. Termites, carpenter ants and heavy rain are all very common in some states.. it will help with the longevity of the structure.
Yes, you technically could put an 8' x 6' shed on this foundation. The foundation will be larger than the footprint of the shed and you will want to make sure that you drill drainage holes in the plywood.
This is made of 16-gauge galvanized steel. Any metal that contains iron, including steel, will bond with the oxygen atoms found in water to form a layer of iron oxide, or rust, so upkeep is important. We recommend using a rust treatment for extra protection a couple times a year, especially if you live in a high humidity climate.
@@LifetimeProductsAssembly this is why it can be helpful to place on blocks a couple inches above the ground. If your property ever floods it can sit in the water, and if the galvanized coating was nicked or worn away, that exposed steel will oxidize immediately. I leveled 4"x16"x8" CMU then slightly buried them so the step into the shed wasn't a foot tall. I was hoping this kit didn't require a subfloor of particle board or the like, but I should have known better.
