    It would be super helpful if the screws didn't strip so easily and if the holes that the screws go in were the actual correct size. Worked on putting mine together today and it was a nightmare. Even after drilling the holes slightly bigger (which I shouldn't have had to do) the screws still were a huge pain to get in and several got stripped in the process. It's definitely not as quick and simple as shown in this video unfortunately.

    • @thezphase4074
      @thezphase4074 2 года назад +3

      Yup. I am starting on section 1.1 and the screws do not seem correct. I have not got one in. I think I will measure the holes and than head to my local hardware store to find more suitable screws for this.

    • @anunpopularstance
      @anunpopularstance Год назад +1

      No kidding. I can't get one screw in. The connection piece holes are at least 2 sizes smaller and the screws aren't self tapping. At least provide self tapping screws if you're not going to correctly size the holes.

    • @LifetimeProductsAssembly
      @LifetimeProductsAssembly  2 года назад

      You can try to apply more pressure on the screws but with this particular situation it is okay to drill the holes a little bit bigger so those screws can grab the bracket. @@LifetimeProductsAssembly or you could provide self tapping screws instead of the garbage provided with the kit. Apply more pressure? Sure and watch the threads strip off ensuring your foundation isn't structurally sound. There are several ways in which you could have designed this kit and you picked one that is terrible. Don't hire engineers who also minored in gender studies next time.

      Our sheds come with a plastic floor, but it's crucial to build them on a proper foundation. The foundation is crucial to the functionality of the shed and it is important for it to be done correctly. If the foundation is not level it will cause multiple issues with the build and performance of the shed. We recommend a foundation of either pressure treated wood or concrete for your shed. If you have any other questions, please reach out to our customer service experts. They can be reached at 800-225-3865 or by email at customercare@lifetime.com. Customer Service hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm (MT).

    Holes for drainage? Do you expect to get water inside the shed?

    • @LifetimeProductsAssembly
      @LifetimeProductsAssembly  3 года назад +2

      Not necessarily. There a couple reasons why we use drainage holes. One being that the holes are for the foundation and not the shed itself. This will help the water drain out of the foundation when it gets on it. The other factor is that it will help the shed breathe in humid areas preventing rotting from moisture.

    What type of metal is this? Will it rust?

    • @LifetimeProductsAssembly
      @LifetimeProductsAssembly  2 месяца назад

      This is made of 16-gauge galvanized steel. Any metal that contains iron, including steel, will bond with the oxygen atoms found in water to form a layer of iron oxide, or rust, so upkeep is important. We recommend using a rust treatment for extra protection a couple times a year, especially if you live in a high humidity climate.

    • @JerseyLeft
      @JerseyLeft 2 месяца назад +1

      @@LifetimeProductsAssembly this is why it can be helpful to place on blocks a couple inches above the ground. If your property ever floods it can sit in the water, and if the galvanized coating was nicked or worn away, that exposed steel will oxidize immediately. I leveled 4"x16"x8" CMU then slightly buried them so the step into the shed wasn't a foot tall. I was hoping this kit didn't require a subfloor of particle board or the like, but I should have known better.
