Hope everyone is having a great week. For those that do not know, we recently started a second RUclips channel dedicated to True Crime Stories from around the world that will be fully narrated by myself. We will begin uploading to that channel right after the holidays so if you would like to head over and subscribe so you do not miss the premiere upload then here is the link ruclips.net/channel/UCUzkafj3xTDZl8lGz3Sf_WA

I really like your videos. I like the blend of you explaining the backstory and I even don't mind when you cut into throwing opinion out about the interrogation. My favorite interrogation videos are ones where you get to see the core the interrogation but the RUclipsr who puts out the video edits it so you're not having to sit through 3 hours of nothing to see 45 minutes of something that I appreciate and I know that means that you have to work at that and it takes time and effort on your part so that's the kind of thing that separates your channel from the pack

I would love to take a deep dive into the psychological effects of spontaneous confessions... I've watched 1,000's of interrogations and the one thing I can't fully understand is why suspects - who could otherwise play the innocence card quite easily - seem to forgoe their own need for self preservation and spontaneously confess to the crimes with little to no nudging or "reward". It blows my mind why or how people who could walk out of the door of the interrogation room just choose to confess out of the blue for trivial rewards like a cigarette or a fast food meal. I've watched a man confess to slaying his wife for a Newport 100.. Seriously there HAS to be some mental dilemma that can be explored further because it is more than just a trend ... Lbvs

I’m not a psychologist but it seems like in a lot of these, the interrogees confess for the relief of burden. It’s a weight lifted off of their shoulders to share the truth as opposed to the mentally exhausting task of lying and trying to hide all signs of guilt. The cigarette or burger or phone call offers the suspect to receive a reward before giving an admission. Being kind to the suspect via gifts seems like it relieves a disproportionate amount of tension because it’s a positive but indirect reinforcement that telling the truth is a good thing
