"couch potato phenotype" oof. He didn't have to call me out like that so accurately. 😩😆😆
Meeeeee toooooooo
I kinda assumed I may be on this for life ala “maintenance” doses - like my thyroid medication. I will be very interested in your upcoming interviews with those who have successfully stopped taking the meds. Thank you for all your content! Thank you for giving us the information you gather!! It is so needed! And Kevin is a rockstar. Whenever I see him pop into frame I just get so happy! ❤
Looking forward to the interview.
I'm sure that I will be on this medication for life. I have no problem with that possibility. Tirz is correcting a deficiency I have that is contributing to me weight gain. So be it.
Me too
Thanks for another informative video. I remember when I first started on this journey, my doctor said, "you can't stay on this for life". I think it will be a LONG time until I get to my maintenance weight. Surely more than one year. Can't wait to see your interviews. "HI KEVIN"!!!!!! He is such a cutie pie!!!
Well said. Thanks for the other video here too.
Thanks for sharing all your weight loss information. And researching information we don't hear or think about.🙂
Great points.
I have A Lot of time for Dr Giles Yeo.
And I too am very keen to watch your video on interviewing people who have successfully maintained their weight after coming off GLP-1s, thank you!
I love your videos! Thank you for helping me through my journey 🎉 your puppies are sweet too!
This is an incredibly relevant video. Thank you so much for the information and your well articulated exploration of the issue. 😉😊
You're very welcome!
I love your videos and I so appreciate all the hard work you do to get the word out to us. You are an inspiration to me and I love Kevin too!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for all the research you do so I don’t have to!
Thanks, always interested in maintenance
You are so on point. I just said this when they classified migraines as a disease..more expensive meds. Ubrelvy is $1300 for 10 pills
I just love Kevin. What a cutie.
Kevin has ‘dumb-dog ear’, lol. 😂
Kevin: *“SO* embarrassing.” 🐕 🤦🏼♂️
Who could afford to stay on this for life? The price needs to come down for this to be a reality.
I've done a little bit of research on this and this is my take away (I'm not in the medical field so I might be wrong). If you are insulin resistant the you have damaged the mitochondria relating to this mechanism. The glp1s do the work of that damaged mitochondria. This CAN be healed by losing weight ( very difficult unless we are on glp1s) but not always. It depends on how it was damaged. That particular mitochondria can be damaged by a variety of things, hormone disfunction, radiation therapy, others that I can't remember but the biggie was ultra processed food. I'm surmising that depending on how it was damaged initially will result on whether you have to stay on the glp1s permanently or not. Like I said, I'm not an expert so just a working hypothesis really
Love this!
🧡🧡
❤
I lost 5 stone on carnivore (70lbs) then it stopped for 12 months not changing anything then put 20 lbs back on ….i think it was menopause, now on mounjaro so fingers crossed
i am thinking of quiting glp-1
Many can do it! Just remember they recommend 6m to 1 yr of maintenance before tapering off the med❤️
It’s not easy. Three months in I’m still nauseous and spending $300 a month. I ask myself if this is worth it. I guess I just don’t think I have any other options.
@@FitFlavorFun its tough after lowering doses hunger comes back.anyway im micro-dosing now. 1mg per week (semaglutide)
@@suspectsez4203 indeed.thanks for sharing your experience. It helps a lot
My Dr. is pushing hard for weight loss surgery. Could you do a video about that?
I've lost 50# on Wegovy, but she says WLS is the only way to go for long-term maintenance.
I have about 90# more to lose.
But many people regain much of their weight back after surgery too. And the after effects can be troublesome too (acid reflux et al). I’ve also been pushed to have bariatric surgery but the Mounjaro seems to be a healthier option for me.
@CynthiaMiller-px9yb Thanks for your perspective. I agree. I would prefer to stay on GLP-1 for life rather than have irreversible surgery. My Dr. says it would be better to have gastric sleeve than stay on quote "dangerous and expensive medication".
It's one or the other for me. I don't want to go back up to class 3 obesity and struggle even on Wegovy.
Yes I will
@@blacksquirrel4133that’s annoying because gastric bypass surgery is also dangerous. My husband almost died from his. And he can’t absorb nutrients either because the surgery removes part of the intestine that absorbs nutrients. He has to get infusions regularly
Are people gaining weight cause they go back to old habits? Just wondering even if your making better food choices and continue your exercise routine? I'm 19lbs from my goal weight I started GLP1 4 weeks ago
According to the study ppl gained even staying on maintenance calories and exercise but I think there is more to it
@@FitFlavorFun so I'm in it for life
The medication is what makes it easier to do the healthy habits. Off the meds the hunger goes way up and you are working against your brain that wants to gain weight and survive just like that video talked about. The brain is really able to up that hunger. I have lost 100 pounds before and gained it all back plus some. My husband had gastric bypass surgery and gained it all back plus some. It’s not just about “willpower”. If it was only willpower that was needed none of us would need this medication
