@jen Don’t hoard like you’re a Doomsday prepper tryin’ to ride out the Zombie Apocalypse, maybe? 🤔 🧟♂️ 🧟♂️ 🧟 I mean, there’s stockpiling, and there’s *STOCKPILING.* 😯
I think having a 90 day+ supply of multiple strengths of the medications would be. If your supply starts to look like a pharmacy that's stockpiling. At least that's how I would measure it 🤷♀️
@@Chipster724 this type of stockpiling is what this video is about. 90 day supplies of multiple doses of the same medication is absolutely stockpiling.
Normally you stay in the same dose for those med for years if not for the rest of your life and if no shorter , my pharmacy called and said my 0.5 wegovy wont be available for the next 3 weeks, i don't think will be fear is someone have 2 months just waiting when I will be out of my shot
Ali, I gotta say that content-wise, you’re kinda on a roll lately. ✨ Would just add that even so, PACE yourself, and maybe not release multiple vids in a day too often. And if you do shoot multiple in a day, BANK some of ‘em, for days when you’re under the weather, or when ‘life gets in the way’. 😖 Don’t want y’all to get burnt out. Also… MORE KEVIN! 😊 🐕
I was called by CVS and they told me they were now doing 90 days supply. I was able to get 90 days on my 15mg. But, this was the only one that I had refills on. I’m good through December. ❤love
@@valeriemartini6315 congrats! I have been afraid to move up to 15mg because I keep hearing that one is in shortage. 😬 I might give it a try next year.
@Pink I’ve seen 15 be pretty available where I live… 10’s been the tough one to get here. And, of course, is the one I’ll be needing. 😢 But it’s all very regional and case by case.
We need this to happen soon. Stockpiling gets worse towards the end of the year with people worried about resetting deductibles and expiring coupons. It’s heartbreaking to see pictures of people with stacks of boxes for dosages they’re not currently on, while others can’t find their meds. Seriously, if you’re no longer at a certain dosage, don’t pick it up. Leave it there for someone else.
I have BCBS, and what Ali mentioned is true. I have been on 12.5mg for a few months. For some reason, my stomach decided it hates that dose, so I went into the doctor, and she lowered me to 10mg. So, I called the pharmacy today. I can only get one box at a time now. It's sad, and I will miss only going to the pharmacy every 3 months, but I understand. Plus, maybe my body will get with the program next month and I can go back to 12.5mg. My fear is that I'm going to gain weight, but my stomach was hurting so bad that I will find a way to make this work. 🙏
My prescriptions are managed by express scripts and they track all prescriptions. They do not allow stockpiling. I can only do 90 days at express scripts, cvs and Walgreens. Due to shortage Walgreens and CVS stopped doing 90 days....Express scripts only do 90 days.
My insurance does not cover, I purchase Zepbound ($550) monthly and compound(because of the shortages). The only way I can stockpile is to buy compound and save my boxes. Is that stockpiling too? If so then oh well, until they stop compound, I will continue to order it 😅😅😅😅
I would never stockpile. I ran out of 7.5mg six weeks ago and titrating up to 10mg was OK’d by the doctor but everything was unavailable… when it suddenly arrived I gladly took it without going back to a lower dose. But month-to-month is normal for me, albeit regularly stressful in terms of waiting.
I dont blame people for stockpiling. If the medication was financially accessible, i dont think this would have been a problem. People are afraid they wont have access to their life saving medication. I feel like the price is the cause of the scarcity mindset. Just my 2¢.
I couldn't stockpile meds in my house like that. Seeing the volume taking up space would drive me nuts. The 90 day supply my prescription normally gives me already feels like a lot
I’m shocked that people have still been allowed to stockpile. This is supply chain 101. Having buffer waste in the system. Because of peoples selfish greed, there have been so many people that couldn’t even start Zep little alone find their monthly dose. That’s why I had to go on Wegovy even though my insurance covers both. 😡🤬. I thought we were a community😢.
Some ppl stockpiled in sheer abject terror of being caught out on the shortages. Up to a point, it makes sense. BUT at the same time, you’re absolutely right, stockpiling makes the shortages WORSE for everybody else. 🤬 And some ppl got REALLY gratuitous with it. Just how many boxes in reserve do you really NEED? (And btw, ppl posting pics of their ‘fridge stuffed full of meds, almost no room for food’ is just tacky. It’s *bragging,* basically. 😒) So yeah, given the fairly widespread abuse, it’s not too surprising that insurance and Pharma are starting to shut this down. “And this is why we can’t have nice things.” 🤷🏽
I had a dose change and the insurance company refused to fill my new dose because I had literally just picked up my old dose the day prior. So I need to white knuckle it for a month because apparently pharmacies and insurance companies know my body better than my doctor and I. I hate this system. It’s so frustrating to deal with.
Interesting. My PBM requires I fill 3-month supplies using mail order. If I want a 1-month supply, I need to fill at a local pharmacy and I can only do that three times. They want me to use mail order only.
I'm glad to hear about the death of mandatory 90-day mail order. I live in Texas and the last thing I want is temperature controlled medication making its way slowly to me in un-air conditioned trucks and sitting on my doorstep in 110 degree heat. When 90-day supply stops, mandatory mail order stops and I get to go to my pharmacy where the med has been safe in a fridge. 🙂
No wonder Walgreens pharmacy stopped by 90 prescriptions. They now will only do 30 days. However, they will not let me stay on 2.5 any longer than 30 days. They are pushing me to the 5mg.
Who’s pushing you? No one but you and your doctor should be makin’ that call.😟 If it’s your pharmacy doing that and it’s at all possible to fire your pharmacy and switch, I’d consider it.
I am not in the US and we could only get Mounjaro via the vial ( not compound) . We are now going to the pen. Funny that the same dose in a vial vs the pen is double the cost . So it's for private script only meaning no Govt discount for weight loss but ok for diabetes they get a discount. We can no longer get compound Mounjaro either. So they are basically locking you into a price range and delivery system. Totally fed up! I am trying to lose weight because I want to keep my self out of the hospital, I am trying to lose weight because I don't want to get diabetes, I am trying to lose weight because I want to reduce the pressure on the health system. I happily will pay a reasonable price but I feel that I am being sw%%$%ed for trying to do the right thing. The companies and fed govt don't give a sh^&^&t about preventative care. And I will say it again diabetes is a preventable disease so is obesity but one gets all the $ assistance and the other doesn't. It's total BS.
The photos shared of fridges filled with multiple boxes with the tagline “I’m covered for 6 months” is difficult to see when I’ve been delayed in getting mine. It’ll be more difficult for those of us in rural areas or other medication deserts Takes a few to ruin it for all
