просто перекрасила и косметику сделала - а понтов .....
Okay, really like how that blue turned out.
Fun. That basket for the clothing shoot though... 🤣 One pair of my jeans would overflow out of that. Looks over functionality there. 😆
Ikr?! Plus, open shelves in a dusty laundry room? Why put the homeowner's through all that extra unnecessary work? They have a growing family. Who the heck wants to _add_ to their chores list? Thought this was meant to help them? Plexiglass doors, they don't dirty as fast, they're strong & you get the same open feel. This designer skipped out on the function. Instead she focused only on the form. *sigh
The entire chute itself isn't functional because of where it's at.
I literally laughed out loud when I saw it. Comically tiny
@@volcrazy89 It is functional because it gets the clothes to the lower level. What isn't functional is that a nitwit put a cabinet there.
They said it was for the clothes of their 2-year-old……
"Oh wow it's a tight space." lol I have a stackable washer/dry combo that's in my bathroom.
I also have a boiler in
I have a 700 sq foot laundry room with 22 washer dryer units…. 3 blocks away from my house 🥲😂
@@daniels8763 😂😂😂😂
Fun couple & beautiful makeover. The designer is super creative. The laundry shoot solution is hilariously underwhelming tho 🤣. It's like Ta-da!...tiny lonely basket
That laundry room is not a tight space.. that’s a lovely sized laundry room. Beats having one in a closet for sure.
The homeowners attitude and dynamic is so likable! Happy they enjoyed the results 😊
@Laura Brown spam
For the laundry shoot I would probably have removed that tiny shelf, put in a divider in that cabinet in the middle and add one or two shelves to the left side and added a laundry bag with some attachments so that it would catch everything and you could remove it once you are ready to do the laundry
I LOVE this idea!
That’s a great idea!
I feel like the couple was hoping for a more creative/functional design than what the designer presented :/
Yes! I was thinking - where are the laundry hampers going to go?
This! I was expecting this, but nope. No, just a small basket 🧺
Overall this was a really nice transformation from the dull and drab before. That being said, I also can’t wait until open shelving is no longer a trend. It just looks so much more cluttered and busy now.
loving this type of videos and the way the designer shares her details of the process. More like this please, its so pretty but that basket did make me chuckle lol.
Having a room for it is such a luxury
In the UK they have their laundry room IN their kitchen?! That always baffled me, all that dust around your food? Why & yuck.
@@Digitalhunny oh funny! Sounds pretty weird indeed. Some people in The Netherlands have theirs separate from the kitchen. Pretty common for people that own their house. I have a washing machine in the bathroom 🤣
@@Digitalhunny Yeah a lot of times they have washer/dryer combos under their counter like a dishwasher. I've seen those in the US, as well, but not as common.
@@rschool1669 Same. I have one of those combo things in my bathroom. I can't believe she was talking about how small of space it is. Many people don't have laundry rooms at all plus for a laundry room it isn't even that small, TBH. It has a sink and quite a bit of shelving. Many laundry rooms are basically the size of a closet.
@@volcrazy89 sounds very practical! I'd like a combo! I don't have a dryer, but since we don't really need one, I don't mind. Only when it's winter and the laundry doesn't dry and I have alot of bedding it's a struggle
Friendly reminder not to simply push your dryer against the wall. Even if it’s flush mounted to the duct you need to be able to visually inspect it now and then. If there’s a hole or break in the duct and lint begins piling up (happens faster than you might think) it can turn into a fire hazard, especially with high voltage electricity wired on top of it. Dryer lint is extremely flammable.
Most of the design changes are lovely but putting a bunch of tschotkes on open shelves is so much visual clutter in a small space.
Dust collectors from the garage area!
Facts and that would drive me crazy 🥴
Omg. I can't believe that's how you actually spell that! I wonder what language that is!
@@kebert2thumbsup Yiddish
@@sfowler1017 I did wonder if it was Yiddish. But that spelling. Yikes! To quote Georgia Hardstark "SPELL IT LIKE YOU SAY IT!" 😂
i love the couple and the designer but honestly i think a purely utalitarian room for laundry is a lot more appealing. maximum room to get things done and minimal maintenance to keep it clean.
It’s situated between garage and their main living area though, so it makes sense to spruce it up because you will pass it everyday. Aesthetics can be nourishing - uplifting one’s mood is also a valid maintenance ;)
Super cute couple 😆The husband had me dying inside with his amazing fun energy and the space came out great! Bravo🥂
Designer did such a great job bringing the top cabinets forward - such a great idea to solve the depth issue with washing machine cabinetry
I thought that was a smart move as well! I think it would've been nicer if the cabinets were extended for more storage instead of drilling the cabinets onto the blocking part.
The colour of the washer and dryer is very aesthetically pleasing. It makes me want to do my laundry😂
The need is decorate with plants in this room is totally unnecessary and useless even if they are fake. They will only get in the way.
That is just for staging. They did say that the couple could swap the decor with some practical use items /decor of their own choosing.
She really made space look alive.
AD, more Room Refresh videos by Pro Designers please.
I would love to have this "tiny space". My laundry is literally a closet only big enough for the washer and dryer. I do like that mine is upstairs
My laundry room is tiny as well. Washer, dryer, sink on one side, on the other heater, water heater, and cable box. I don't complain because it's my first laundry room.
Me too!! I don't even have a laundry!
Cute couple! So glad they love their new laundry room.
I feel like he liked it so much more than she did. His reaction was so happy and cute!
Would love to see more of these videos as a series! There are so many out there that look the same (boho to transitional style) so it would be nice to see other design styles and tips!
I love watching these videos but the countdown is kind of pointless since the steps shown were out of order and not following the timeline anyway??
I would have gone with netting that had snap fasteners at the bottom to retrieve soiled clothing. The rug is going to be bare headache to keep clean as it is a highly trafficked area. A large lazy susan for detergent, et al....6/10.
The room needs a place for hanging items that don’t go in the dryer and for hangers where permanent press clothes go after the dryer.
More mini-reno videos like this please.
Love the transformation! Every new change looks and feels so well thought out and well-executed. Worth every penny! Mandy Cheng & her team did a helluva job in so short a space of time!
I would have preffered the first option for the peel and stick wallpaper
Wooowwww if she can do that in a laundry room, imagine what she could do in a kitchen or a hole house. Great job is really a great lesson on how good you can make a place look better in the afternoon
Huge improvement! Although everyone is thinking that the tiny basket for the laundry chute is too small. But very nice overall!
lovely couple
"Small laundry room" its huge!
When she showed the basket i bursted in laughter, the home owners were not satisfied 🤣😂😅
That was cringe to see the basket lol
Wow...Such a likably pleasant couple...I loved their excited enthusiasm at their reveal!!! Mandy Cheng r0cKeD this quick renovation...
Great video and great results. I definitely like the couple. They're s chill. However, I can't be the only one whose blood was boiling when I saw all those people wearing shoes in the house.
The room looks, so much, bigger. 😲
The couple is so adorable!
I gotta find that kind of rug. It’s the first time I’ve seen that.
She's so talented
LOVE THIS SERIES 💕Keep’em coming
11:56 can move stuff around so those grass vines don't cover the only (laundry) functional thing in that cabinet which is the dryer balls!
The transformation is beyond wow❤❤❤!!!
are you kidding? this transformation is insane and i love it
Gorgeous makeover and such a cute couple! 😊
aw cute couple too! we love to see it
This couple is adorable!
❤ amazing job! Love how the person used shelves to create more space.❤
It's so awesome I love the colours the details everything they just got lucky
Hopefully this inspires this couple to add ....ANY color...to their other rooms! It looks great!
a coat of paint, and changing the taps is something they could have done themselves.
the hardest thing here was bringing those solves above the washer and dryer forward
What a cute couple.
I am in desperate need of a laundry room refresh too, this was helpful!
love this series
'It's great, cut the tags' hahahahahahahhha best quote of the video!
That’s a great sized laundry room. Mines literally a closet in the hallway lol
Great Series. Congrats AD
Loved this! So simple but inspiring!!

What's wrong with the laundry room as is? Most people would love a laundry room like this!!!
Exactly, lol. It wasn't bad at all. I don't even have a laundry room. My washer/dryer is in my bathroom, lol. Not to mention many people that live in apartments don't even have washers or dryers and have to go to laundromats.
And they reduced the amount of storage. And I want my laundry area to look sterile, it's where I clean my clothes. Hang a picture and put down a tray or cup for your keys and done. 5 minutes and $20 later...
Stop whining.
1st world problems
@@genericuser6023 stfu. Nobody is whining. Just discussing that this laundry may have been bland color wise but it certainly is a great space. Some people don't have a w/d, some have them in kitchens or even bathrooms. Move on!
Excellent job!
Why did it annoy me when she called the paint color turquoise instead of teal lol. Great makeover but agree with the comments: that tiny laundry basket 😭
Also: had to chuckle at her keeping the detergent where she couldn't reach them. Why not move them to the opposite side where she could 😅
Loved it!
Awesome!
Love this!
this series is insane
I did like the way the white made it look simple and clean
Nice, i love it.
Amazing designer! More videos with her, please!!!
Great couple. I’d have cut down the doors to leave coverage on the bottom shelf for practical item. Also, not a fan of dust catching tchotchkes.
Mooore like this!!
wow!
What are they storing in the drawers under the washer and dryer? That is where ideally they would put the detergent and other cleaners.
It would have made more sense to get them new deeper cabinets over the washer/dryer also helps with storage....
Or stacking washer dryer on top of each other and do a cabinet next to it. Now it's just a lot of wasted space in an already cramped room
The basket in the laundry shoot is very small. She could have chosen a long rectangular basket with handles.
My engineering intuition is telling me that the laundry is going to miss that basket in 99.8% of cases
god this is better than MINE even before they redid it. i can only imagine Mandy's cringe face if she walked in here lol
She did more than others and actually make it vibrant and not boring. The only thing I feel she couldn’t fix is the dirty laundry shoot. Instead the bottom shelf should’ve had some nonporous protective layer from the dirty laundry and a netted system so the laundry can flow into that space but won’t fall on your face when you open the shoot doors.
amazing........yet,....it seems to me ...that...the the tiny cute straw basket wasn't made to lend down the chute.....discovered on site ? so with that awsome make over ....happy couple will find the inspiration to upgrade the basket ( probably thought to hold towels by the sink or ober the machines?) to a more practical less decorative...maybe taller washable recycled plastic..bin type and i say that innovatrice decorator positively rocks... NB:sure she will ask for open cupboard preview ..she improvised really well...it is so good...yes.
Looks great. Although, the basket while a nice idea isn’t practical. You could only fit a few pocket squares before they would start spilling over. The design and paint color is beautiful but it’s just a tad dark for me. I think switching out the fixtures was a great idea and it didn’t occur to me to have nice fixtures in my laundry room. I’m currently redoing my laundry room and think I will switch out my fixtures, too. Keep up the good work.
Jesus is your way to heaven, Believe in him and you will be saved from hell.
Yes
1. Love these DIYs done with a time frame. 2. However, I don’t necessarily understand the turquoise + red and white + white and black, all together. 3. Still, glad that the couple is happy🙂.
What an amazing transformation 😍😍
a whole room dedicated to washing their clothes and it's still not good enough
Right? lol
Its interesting what type of problems people have, right?
I still think the washer and dryers are too bulky for the space but great otherwise.
great, though i would remove half of the plants stuffs.
Looks great but, those plants are gonna die within a week! And that tinny basket thoughhhhh
Must be so hard for the privledged. Give it a bit of paint and it's better than most peoples
What kind of color blue is that..
I wanna paint our room same that color.
The home owner said she stores detergents in the cabinets above the washer dryer but its too far away.
The Solution?
The designer decides to make them closer but open. She then places little decorations instead of detergents.
The detergents would look awful there now ..lol
Designer created a problem for the owners ..lol
Looks like a fail tbh
Exactly what I was thinking. Open shelving? For all the things you need to store away in a laundry room?
What’s with all the blue masking tape around the door frames etc? It’s not necessary. I’m a professional painter and never use that stuff to protect doors/window frames. I use a wide brush and carefully use the edge of the brush.
How can we apply to be part of the project?
The home owners are simply _gorgeous_ people. The design is nice. HOWEVER, open shelves are _always, more_ work for the homeowner's. Keeping them neat, tidy & free of dust IN a mega dusty laundry room? Not worth the extra work. To get the same open feel, maybe glass doors? Save that poor family the time & energy. They'll need it, to keep up with a growing toddler. Plexiglass doors with brushed gold knobs. They don't dirty like glass (nearly as fast). Plus, they're strong & you get the same open feel. This designer skipped out on the function. Instead she focused only on the form. *sigh
EDIT: That is NOT turquoise! _That_ is cobalt blue. (Crayola agrees with me, look it up. LMAOO)
Haha, I'm the same with correcting people on colors! I'm even worse with grammar.
Yeah if it's open shelving it should just be like a couple of long shelves that span the walls, not a bookshelf-type thing like that. Also, all that useless stuff like the decor and fake plants are going to get dusty AF real quick. I was thinking about clear doors, too. I don't see them a lot in laundry rooms but they always seem to work well in kitchens so why not? It would definitely keep the dust off, and since they appear open it makes the room look bigger. Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed it definitely wasn't turquoise. It doesn't look cobalt blue either, though. It looks more like a mix between the two.
Drink a shot of tequila every time she says “space”
6am here, but I'm still game!
Why not stack washer and dryer and put a cabinet next to it?
Seems counterintuitive to waste space in such a small room
I think it can be a bit more accessible switching clothes over if it’s unstacked & they still got the cabinets, but overhead. There’s even a wall of storage right there. The room is small but dedicated for laundry.
You had me until the laundry shoot fix 😂 they coulda done that themselves
Jesus is your way to heaven, Believe in him and you will be saved from hell.
@@brearegans7980 f jesus
Where to fold the clothes ?
Where do you put the keys we talked about?
In the little hanging basket on the wall. The designer said that the flowers she put in it were just "fillers."
Wish someone could renovate part of my house too
Anything on trend will never be timeless. It is just passing through.🥴
Nice job and colors. The basket should have been the width of the shelf to catch clothes, but why complain about a cool feature? The designers always over style it, of course they need the soap and rags etc in there.
