What I find interesting is that the prequels and their actors received a lot of hate and criticism at the time of their era (1999-2005) as the prequels were compared to the original trilogy. History just repeats itself. However, I do believe that the criticism of Disney Star Wars has been justified due to poor writing and direction. As for the hate on the actors... I say leave them alone it's not their fault that they have a poorly written role to act out for everyone to see.

Maybe, but part of why big star wars project have failed is because there is such a massive gap between trilogies. There are literal generational gaps between each film, which is sets an unreasonable amount of expectations, and one of the reasons why disney movies were so medicore is their obsession with looking like og star wars, which in turn made them bland.

How is this promising? The only promising thing about Rey SkYwAlKeR was that we didn't get anymore of her after the sequel trilogy. That atleast gave me some tiny hope that disney wanted us to forget her and eventually remove the sequels from the cannon.... but this, Nobody wanted this.

Assuming this actually gets made, it's going to fail spectacularly at the box office. Since 2012, we want to see the continuation of George Lucas' story, not some cheap (when it comes to integrity) knockoff from deluded hired guns of Disney. The sequels should really have ended with Ben surviving instead of Rey, and living with his decisions. Trying to be the person his family wanted him to be, building a new Jedi academy to keep the balance, while also being wanted by the resistance and first order remnants. This, is when he meets Anakin, the only person who understands him
No Sith academy. That is as horrible of an idea as anything anyone can say Disney has done

Resistance's problems mainly stem from the fact that Season 2 was catching up to events before Episode IX's release date, and the crew had no idea what was going to happen during development. Reminder that Bombastic defended the broken mess that was Outlaws. This channel has no integrity, they sold themselves out and will praise anything.
Actually, this might be kind of interesting. Though, rebuilding the jedi order is not really original at this point. The movie being set 45 years (Approximately ~49 ABY) after ROTJ, I cant imagine that many of the the Jedi we know and love would be active. So, that would require an entirely new cast. Im always down for new star wars content. With the Mandalorian and Ahsoka approaching the creation of The First Order and The Resistance, the sequals are going to receive their much needed extra context that they couldnt add to those movies.
Now im honest excited! We'll see how this goes.

This movie is NOT coming out in May 2026, that has already been pretty much confirmed to be the Mandalorian and Grogu movie, and this movie isn't even coming out in 2026 by the looks of it. It has been over a year since this film was announced and they still don't have a script with the film's second or third writer looking to leave the project all together. If you ask me, this seems very unlikely to happen, or if it does, it will at least not be any time soon, although I have also heard that it is put on hold for now. Not to mention, no one wants this movie anyways, so I am happy it is having so much trouble because it should even be made. Disney and Lucasfilm or wasting too much time and money on this film already that will have no return, only because Kathleen Kennedy wants this movie to come out and somehow redeem the sequel trilogy and therefore her legacy, but what Kathleen Kennedy doesn't realize is nothing can fix her legacy and this film is only going to make her legacy look worse and more embarrassing, especially since the director for the film has only ever directed documentaries and one episode of Ms. Marvel and has an agenda like everyone else Kathleen Kennedy hires at Lucasfilm, so it is really hard to say this movie has a chance to be good or "promising" from that.

Tbh i was hoping that the way of the jedi amd sith would end. Instead of jedi it would be the way of the skywalker. And the new dark side users would be something completely new. I think the new light and dark should reflect new philosophies while maintaining its good and evil roots.
The only way I see this could at least work, is if they include the Yuuzhang Vong invasion, but something that big will require at least a trilogy
So were getting what should have already been. But only way way way worse.

I am one of the few people who defended reys abilities in ep 7. Luke went from farm boy to blowing up the Death Star in the space of a day, a girl with force sensitivity could pull of something crazy like a duel against someone whose got shot and just stabbed their own father. A person who was physically and mentally wounded.
However episode 8 and 9 were an insult to fans.
Mandalorian season 1 and 2 pulled me back in. Phenomsl. Then season 3 got hijacked by KK and her goons and it was back to square one.
