Yes and no The original and prequel tirologies broke grounds with some of it's shots, but frankly the newer ones can't shine a light to shots like the beach shot in Rome (I think that's what it's called in English?) or some of Trakovski's works
I've counted: 38 shots from the Prequel Trilogy 23 shots from the Original Trilogy 64 shots from the Sequel Trilogy 10 shots from Solo 27 shots from Rogue One 15 shots from The Mandalorian 8 shots from The Book Of Boba Fett
I know the feeling. Every time I see that scene where Obi Wan and Anakin collide with each other as the lava explodes behind them, goosebumps every time.
I love how all different eras of Star Wars have beautiful cinematography in their own unique way. The Original Trilogy showcases the beauty of practical filmmaking, letting us see how beautiful and realistic a great filmmaker can make practical sets to be, showing the great passion they have for their work with all these large and great-looking sets. The Prequel Trilogy showcases the beauty of early day CGI, which was revolutionary and although not fully developed yet and not necessarily aiming for complete realism, gave the feeling of a mythological painting when we see all these unique worlds, complementing the great sense of wonder in Star Wars. The Sequel Trilogy showcases the beauty of modern filmmaking, with a nice blend of practical and computer effects, showing how far we've gone in filmmaking. The Disney+ spinoffs showcases the beauty of future filmmaking, with the revolutionary technology of virtual LED sets being utilised instead of a green screen, blending the good things about practical and CGI effects, both perfecting computer effects from the early days of the prequels while also having a greater sense of realism, making us excited for the future of this technology.
And The Clone Wars, Rebels and The Bad Batch have showcased the beauty of the animated photography. Honestly, the work they have been doing is marvelous.

The overcoming of oppression. The willingness to sacrifice. Those are the reasons these beautiful scenes truly have meaning. What a great video🥹
This hit me in the feels without remembering that most of these shots hit me in the feels when I first watched them. I suppose the music has got something to do with it.
14:34 the music and the imagery from this moment on…. I swear, it hit hard. I just felt like letting out a big old ‘’YEAH’’. I feel like this part encapsulates exactly what Star Wars makes me feel, and I thank you for it ^~^ That was epic.
To whoever edited this masterpiece, and whoever did the mashup and rescoring of the soundtracks, I hope you’re getting full studio jobs in the near future because y’all KILLED this
2:55 Anakin's Betrayal playing and then at then most emotional musical moment we cut to Vader's helmet being put on for the first time, this made me gasp. IT'S SO GOOD! There was so many moments where I was truly filled with happiness, nostalgia and even a slight sense of melancholy sadness, (with admittedly a few tears) while watching this. Thank you so much for making a great video that can bring us all closer together.
Maybe I missed it but I didn't see THE shot - the Star Destroyer endlessly flying overhead at the top of the first film. One of the most iconic shots in cinema history. And in general I would have liked to see the OT better represented. I know it can't match the sumptuous, richly-colored visuals of modern movies, but there's more that deserved a place here. The trench run, Hoth, the asteroid field, combat above Death Star II... etc.
You’re goddamn right. That’s THE shot. The 4 shots that encompass Star Wars to me are the opening shot in 1977 Star Wars, Luke looking at the binary sunset, Vader vs Luke on Bespin only lit by the carbon freezing chamber’s lights, and the lightsaber clash in front of the Emperor’s face in Return of the Jedi.
Looking at these incredible shots and locations, I can’t help but dream of a videogame with incredible visuals where you can go anywhere in the vast galaxy of Star Wars in different eras and either relive the incredible stories or create your own with other fans of this incredible saga.
About 3 months ago, I finally decided to watch the clone wars series and since then I have watch all 9 episodes, animated shows, all video game walkthrough, numerous comics, audiobooks etc. From Rakatan empire to legacy era, I am exploring it all. Really digging the high republic comics. Can't wait for Rouge Squadron, Andor, Bad batch season 2, Ahsoka, Mandalorian season 3, high republic phase 2 quest of the jedi, EA's fallen order sequel and of course KENOBIIII!!!!!
damn you street-shitters are finally starting to find some good tastes in media? good for you but pls stay away from star wars, you street pissers have already ruined marvel and alot of other anime fandoms, don't pollute star wars for us now
As a person who absolutely HATED episodes 7-9, I do have to admit that the cinematography and landscape is absolutely stunning. Wallpaper worthy. But I still think that the Mandolorian has the best gritty visuals, the original trilogy has the best space visuals, and the prequels have the best landscape visuals.
The Sequels story is no more "shit" than Luke and Leia kissing only to find out they're Brother and Sister the very next film in the Originals and it's less "shit" than Anakin mass murdering kids on two separate occasions in the Prequels..why would Padme marry a child murderer ? Why wouldn't she tell anyone like Yoda and Obi Wan "Hey, I just thought y'all should know that Anakin murdered a bunch of sand people kids that had nothing to do with his Mom's death..just thought y'all should know."..
@@darthtrip7188 I won't go in depth into this, cuz I don't really care, but the main reason the Sequels have less quality is cohesion. Critique the Prequels to hell, George Lucas went into Ep1 with a plan that carried all the way into Ep3. Ep 7 8 and 9 all had different directors (technically 2, but they didn't agree with each other). So when The Last Jedi made changes to what J.J. Abrams wanted, instead of just going with the changes he spent a huge chunk of Ep 9 just retconning those decisions.
@@annacollins8999 I have no problem with the cohesion of the Sequels/Sequel Trilogy. One of many things I hear among the complaints is Luke being much more like the Original Trilogy Luke in The Rise Of Skywalker than he was in The Last Jedi but I don't know how those people didn't realize that Luke had already changed for the good by the end of The Last Jedi. Palpatine showing up out of nowhere is really the only thing that seems off. Nothing story wise changes besides Palpatine showing up in The Rise Of Skywalker and Rey going from being a "nobody" in The Last Jedi to being a Palpatine in The Rise Of Skywalker. And the same could be said in the Originals when the story changed from it being said that Darth Vader murdered Anakin Skywalker in A New Hope to Anakin Skywalker being Darth Vader and Luke's Father in The Empire Strikes Back..when there were no hints that Vader was Luke's Father in A New Hope..and all they used to explain this was a lazy "from a certain point of view" line. And Luke and Leia kissing in The Empire Strikes Back and her using Luke to make Han Solo jealous to her saying "Somehow I've always known" after she found out Luke was her Brother in Return Of The Jedi. Also her saying she remembers her Mother being "very beautiful" and then Revenge Of The Sith (the third Prequel) showing her Mother died like a minute after Luke and Leia were born. Those should be much worse cohesion problems but I have no problem with the cohesion of the Original Trilogy either. The Originals/Original Trilogy and the Sequels/Sequel Trilogy especially the Originals/Original Trilogy are of overall higher quality than the Prequels/Prequel Trilogy. The cohesion of the Prequel Trilogy of Anakin being a good guy Jedi to a mass child murderer back to good guy Jedi back to a mass child murderer and the entire ending of Revenge Of The Sith being rushed just for the sake of getting everything as close to the start of the Original Trilogy as possible are also much worse cohesion problems. The real reason people are hating on the Sequel Trilogy is because the lead protagonist is a female and seemingly most Star Wars fans don't know what kind of Star Wars films they want. They complain and whine about The Last Jedi being different and not having any fan service and they said they wanted fan service and then they got lots of fan service in The Rise Of Skywalker and they still complained and whined.
@@darthtrip7188 Dang, that's a long read but you are spot on. I agree with everything you said. Everything people complain about with the Sequel Trilogy could be complained about with the Original Trilogy and Prequel Trilogy. If the Prequels came out today or if Return Of The Jedi came out today, the obnoxious fans would rip those movies apart. Oh and yes, the Prequel Trilogy is definitely the weakest Star Wars Trilogy.
@@darthtrip7188 As a SW fan, of course I know that the previous films/tv shows/even some legends books aren't perfect. My gripe with Sequels is that they repeated the mistakes of the OG like Rey being a Palpatine last second reminds me of Leia being Luke's sister last second.

I may sound like a baby but this made me tear up seeing Star Wars the very thing I’ve grew up with and how it has shaped me as a person. Thank you for making this I really appreciate your time and effort in this
From an artistic point of view, every star wars film has unbelievably well composed and beautiful shots Frames just like paintings… Together with this music, its the best one can have
It must be said that the Disney Star Wars films, with modern filming technology LOOK stunning. Imagine what George Lucas' films would have looked like if he'd done them in this day and age.
It amazes me how much of an amazing culmination of a tribute like this was to gather all three generations of Star Wars and remind some of the older fellows of their childhoods. Not only that, but from this comment section, I can say that there are indeed good people of this fandom that acknowledge what makes all three trilogies, including the Sequels, good amongst all three of their flaws. TL;DR Thank you for posting this. This was a good Star Wars video for the community. One day, the rest of the fandom generations may grow to respect one another and their tastes. :)
The last jedi is the movie that has gotten me to notice and appreciate when there’s great cinematography in a movie. God the shots in that movie are just so well done and well composed. It’s honestly inspiring. Like I almost want to do cinematography because of it looks fun.
Tho the cinematography is fantastic. The storytelling is just worse. I couldn't possibly believe what they did in luke's story arc that they had to drag down together every original character as possible. I hate it. Really.
EVEN though we all don't enjoy the writing and characters of the sequels not as much as we love the originals, or the prequels, we do have to accept the cinematography, CGI and the calming surrounding that fits Star Wars, was absoluty amazing. The sequels are definitly a part of Star Wars.
8:46 I'm a prequel guy, but THIS is my favourite shot in all of Star Wars. The way it slowly trucks to the left. Not to mention the music that's playing during the scene too, just amazing.
It may not be able to make its fanbase happy to save its life, but at least we can all agree that cinematography is *ALWAYS* one of this galaxy far, far away's strongest suits. Right? *(puts up a flame shield to prepare for the incoming essay-long rants about the Sequel Trilogy's cinematography being an ABSOLUTE FAILURE)*
That exactly the as many criticize Disney for ruining the saga, then with The Mandalorian, The book of boba feet, and now with Obi-wan Kenobi, they are fixing their mistake... Maybe? P.D: The cinematography of this franchise is amazing :D
The visual experience is one of the few things I actually don't dislike about the new trilogy, it's just it doesn't feel as if it has the substance to back it up which is more frustrating than anything. But I don't want to focus on that! It looks pretty nice, and has many of the same aesthetic themes that made the others so good
2015-2017 what a time to be alive! I remember being a kid during that area of Star Wars magic. Once a year come December it was Star Wars season and my dad and I got so hyped. We’d wait in line for hour after having bought our tickets in October. We were all dressed up in costumes and it was the perfect amount of content. Just a year of waiting and then a solid movie. It sadly changed when they released solo in may during infinity war and then cancelled that plan entirely. But even tho that time is over and I’m an adult now I’ll always look back on the great time where no one would yell at me for enjoying something and everyone would get excited. It’s was a great time to be a kid who loved Star Wars
A channel that's just devoted to the amazing shots of film without having to elaborate on their opinion or anything is just absolutely sublime. Totally subscribed.
You may like some parts of it, you might not like the others but without any question it is the most beautiful thing out there....and you captured it perfectly.... somehow 16 minutes felt so so short

I can’t I can’t. Whoever made this is a very amazing human being 🙂↔️🫠🥲🥲🥲
One of the greatest poems of all time
What a beautiful and epic saga.
I don’t know why… but everytime the original theme starts my eyes fills with tears
From an artistic point of view, every star wars film has unbelievably well composed and beautiful shots
Frames just like paintings…
Together with this music, its the best one can have
The coolest shot I’ve ever seen in any movie ever is at 1:20. So epic.
Which is that from
As always great work. Star Wars is amazing
16 minutes pour prouver que Star Wars est la meilleure franchise cinématographique.
The best franchise ever. Always having great cinematography, especially The Last Jedi.
The last jedi is the movie that has gotten me to notice and appreciate when there’s great cinematography in a movie. God the shots in that movie are just so well done and well composed. It’s honestly inspiring. Like I almost want to do cinematography because of it looks fun.
@@vadernation1233 same here, it was also one of the first films to really get me interested in writing and character development.
@@thenewdoc4599 "Writing and Character development" Bruh are you fr?
@@arunrajeev2634 yeah, Luke and Kylo's arcs are awesome in that film
Tho the cinematography is fantastic. The storytelling is just worse. I couldn't possibly believe what they did in luke's story arc that they had to drag down together every original character as possible. I hate it. Really.
I'm glad that the shots across all of Star Wars media are things all of us can appreciate
This is a masterpiece. There is truly nothing like Star Wars
When any shot from The book of boba fett appeared I got goosebumps and even a few tears dripped.....beautiful video and an even more beautiful saga.
Happy 45th Anniversary to Star Wars!
My 12 year old son and I just had an awesome moment watching this front to back and chatting about the beautiful cinematography. Thanks.
EVEN though we all don't enjoy the writing and characters of the sequels not as much as we love the originals, or the prequels, we do have to accept the cinematography, CGI and the calming surrounding that fits Star Wars, was absoluty amazing. The sequels are definitly a part of Star Wars.
Remember, you guys: Star Wars is good. I feel like we forget that sometimes.
Dude the music just seems to sink up with everything in this video. Incredible job. Will be rewatching the saga this week.
rogue one has some of the best cinematography in the entire franchise
I find this video to be the best in the Internet
I teared up near the end, they just started flowing. Star Wars is great, but the music makes it!
Beautiful
This was breathtaking
Greig Fraser is quickly becoming one of the best cinematographers of our times. Every movie the dude shoots is so damn beautiful.
You edited this beautifully, it was yours and now it's also mine. Thank you for sharing this. I got all the feels.
Thank you for watching!
It looks pretty nice, and has many of the same aesthetic themes that made the others so good
@@paul5x 100% agree. The VFX of the new trilogy is stunning, I just hate everything else (except for Poe Dameron, he’s a cool guy)
Of all the sequel's faults, the cinematography was never one of them. If anything, it tricked me into liking them lol
@@georgesikorski9891 if you like them like them. Don’t let internet people convince you otherwise
I fucking love star wars
My favorite has to be Anakin on his speeder with the suns in the background. Sickest shot of all time
The best shot in the entire series will always be the luke and vader part in the chamber. so iconic.
I think something that we can all agree on, is that Star Wars is the master of establishing shots.
Gorgeous. Great job showcasing all these, ESPECIALLY with the music flowing with it.
A channel that's just devoted to the amazing shots of film without having to elaborate on their opinion or anything is just absolutely sublime. Totally subscribed.
Disney has amazing cinematography
Light. Darkness. Peace. Violence.
Balance.
Beautiful.
That was Fr beautiful
You made me cry
Sometimes I forget that Star Wars has great visuals…
Very fun to see an overview like this. Brilliant close. 😁
Absolute kudos for the most impressive Star Wars video ever made.
No matter which star wars, the visuals and soundtracks are always straight fire
Despite the flaws some we of the movies or shows have , I’ll always come back to this franchise and enjoy it.
No matter your opinion. You have to admit that every single one of the star wars movies have each had their share of stunning shots
This is the best star wars video i've ever seen
Star Wars has always been defining cinematography, and I will always be a fan of this saga.
6:34 that shot has cemented itself as my favorite frame in All of Star wars. Steve yedlin you are incredible.
You may like some parts of it, you might not like the others but without any question it is the most beautiful thing out there....and you captured it perfectly.... somehow 16 minutes felt so so short
