Great drawing! You really baffle me every time you draw comic characters. Why spend 70 dollars, if you could spend - I don't know - 10 dollars and get a metal mechanical pencil that doesn't roll either and has the weight you're looking for~

I think this really goes to show that the best pencil is just the one you’re the most comfortable with. Me personally I don’t like wooden pencils because you have to sharpen them, which creates a mess. Mechanical pencils don’t need sharpened and keep a fine point the whole time you use it, so for me they’re better suited what I do. I even just go to my local Dollar Tree and buy a 4 pack of mechanical pencils with rubber grips. The lead button is also on the grip right next to my fingers, so I don’t even need to shift my grip to get more lead. I can also replace the normal eraser with a triangle shaped eraser cap, and I can’t suggest eraser caps enough because they last longer, they have points that let you erase fine detail, and they’re easily replaceable and not hard to remove when almost unusable like the normal erasers. This artwork not only showed each pencil has its pros and cons, but it looks frickin fantastic. Excellent job
I would just like to note that mech pencils come in different sizes (.5mm, .7mm, and 2.0mm) The 2mm can be sharpened well. Many have the sharpener in the head. While you can get different hardnesses in mech pencils, they are not as common or varied. I love mech pencils, and finding a holder/body that fits and feels good, can change the drawing experience greatly. Wooden pencils are very common and have a lot of variety and robustness as a drawing tool. I think it comes down to personal preference. If you haven't used a mech pencil I recommend that you try one. The 2mm is basically the size of wooden leads and I recommend that size :)

I don't have 70 dollars to spend on one pencil... My conscience would utterly kill me. I liked the feel of the right hand side but the left seemed darker and I liked that. I can't hold the 70$ pencil so I'm taking your word on the feel but in the long run, I just can't see paying that much for the weight and dimensions. Nice art BTW.

Honestly, i like the 1$ cuz it's having texture and looks dark and nice. Tho your skills are what making the drawing very nice. Maybe awesome, no words to express the artwork.
One thing is that the H in HB means that it is a hard cored pencil and that the B means that the shading would be constantly a metalic black instead of being more of a metalic sliver
Well for me is not worth $70, But you now what is worth $70? Your work, man oh man. You are fantastic my brotha, I love watching you draw and color. I can stay up all night watching you draw and color. Best wishes for you man from San Fracisco Ca.
Great drawing! To my eye, the $70 pencil side looks clearly better, but it seems like you can get most of the benefit (heft, balance) of that pencil from one of those Pentel and the like metal drafting mechanical pencils that are like 10-20 bucks. I would get that plus a set of complete wooden pencils at all the various grades and still be way ahead. Am I missing something?
I think if you're a perfectionist and you want to get into art, but you're not used to switching from pencil to pencil the concrete pencil ($70) might just be right for you. Now if you've been into art for a long time and you can deal with switching from pencil to pencil, you can literally have all the different and unique types of pencils just for your art, go for it. but the $1 pencil's use may be good for shading or far distances at night.
One of the best pencils I ever had was a tiny golf course pencil with super thick lead. It was probably a #2 HB, but the bigger diameter lead made shading large areas super easy.
Simply amazing. You inspired me to start drawing again, after half a year of not touching my pencil and paper. Even got me into coloring my drawings. I do have a question though. Whenever I start to color my drawings (I do have a set of promarkers) the bleeding causes me headaches 😅. What paper is the best to use markers, in your opinion. Thanks in advance.
The $70 pencil looks lighter but smoother. Very cool that you did one on pencils. I would choose the cheaper ones lol I did my very first marker mashup video where I pit the Firefly cheap alcohol markers with the Copics. :)
From the artist's perspective, who is actually drawing, getting to feel the difference, and not just see, the $70 can feel amazing But as an spectator, left side just wins, i like the harder strokes better, and also, its 1/70th of the price
To tell you the truth, I couldn't see any difference between them worth talking about. :-) Over the years of being an artist myself, I've bought many various 'rich to the pocket' pens and Pencils. Mostly, I find it's down to personal taste. ( I won't even start on the many kinds and makes of paper I've been through :-}) I love to use graphite, and watercolour paints and Pencils. However, I will try most mediums, that's how you grow as an artist. I also love finding a real gem of an art medium.. Great drawing. Cheers! 🇬🇧😀
Can you do a drawing like this where it’s split and one side is colored normal and the other is in a negative?! I think that would be cool to do. Awesome video, as always!
I like using both wood "#2" HB and mechanical pencils. But there's no way I'd spend $70 on a drawing utensil Why spend that kind of money on a mechanical pencil anybody can get at Walmart for a few dollars. Which work fine. Or a box of standard #2 pencils.
I'm not gonna lie. The $70 pencil side looks smoother to me and lines cleaner. I wouldn't pay $70 for any pencil but I think the issue was simply that it was a mechanical pencil versus a wooden pencil. I would have loved to see this drawing colored with markers too.
Hey man, love your content! I have a few questions about your art supplies. After watching so much of your videos, I bought the 48 box set of Windosor and Newton Promarkers, and completely fell in love with them. However, the occasional spitting the markers do have been driving me crazy, and has ruined a couple of pieces. Do you have any tips for alleviate this? Also. Out of curiosity, is there a place that you can recommend where I can get the complete set of Promarkers for a decent price? And finally do you have any recommendations for a marker rack? And sorry for so many questions! I've traditionally been just a paper/pencil cheap artist, but your stuff has really inspired me to branch out. 😅 Anyway, thanks for listening to me. Again, love your channel!
I think the stand I use is Spectrum Noir pens stands.. Regarding pens I buy them individually never in sets.. And the spitting, I've only experienced this with 2 pens, An Indigo blue and Purple.. I used the Chisel side when this happened... or if I could, got a hold of the brush variants.. It does suck and i really dont know why some do that. Sorry I cant help too much
@@ADCArtAttack oh no, thank you. I still appreciate you taking the time to message me! I thought that might be the case with buying the pens. I'm not hurting for the money, I'm just cheap. 😅 I'll look into the marker stands though for sure. Thanks again!
Color me intrigued. I'd love to try out that $70 pencil, not sure I'd want to actually drop $70 on it, though. Both sides of the drawing came out fantastic though.
I think the 70 dollar one looks better but is not worth 70 compared to the one dollar one. BTW ADCArtAttack, great drawing. Absoloutely loved it. You adapted to each different pencil really well
No prep, random meeting between Batman and Spider-Man with both on top of their game that day, Spider-Man wins 9/10 times if they're both going all out. If Batman is able to prep for the encounter he may be able to devise a way to win.
If Batman had no prep time and neither were willing to kill, it'd be Spider-Man coming out on top. While Batman is very creative with his nonlethal takedowns, I think Spider-Man would overwhelm Batman with his acrobatic, flying-all-over-the-place fighting style. If Batman had no prep time but was willing to kill (but the Webhead wasn't), Spider-Man would win. He faces unpowered humans with high tech every day who try to kill him with every punch. If Batman wasn't willing to kill but Spider-Man was and Batman didn't have prep time, I... don't know. Spider-Man is brutally efficient when he goes for the kill but Batman faces superpowered beings every day and most of the time beats them. If both were willing to kill and Bats had no time to prep, Spider-Man wouod dodge all gadgets and go in for the killing blow ASAP, which would be hard for Batman to counter but I think Bats would still deal a good amount of damage before going down. If Batman had prep time and neither were willing to kill, it would be a tie. As creative as Batman is with taking people down with his tricks, he isn't willing to kill and Spider-Man is used to fighting normal humans with insane tech... but now he doesn't have to worry about dying, so he can focus more on atopping Batman than dodging lethal blows. If Batman had preps ready and wss willing to kill, it'd be trivial for him to counter everythibg Spider-Man threw at him and then kill Spider-Man. If Bats had prep time, wasn't willing to kill, but Spider-Man was, it'd be close, but Batman probably would win. As said before, Batman tangles with all sorts of supers trying to kill him on regular occurences and comes out on top... most of the time. If Bats had prep and both were willing to kill, I once again have trouble answering this. Both are unstoppable once they all go all-out, so it's just a matter of who runs out stuff first (Batman) or tires out quicker (Spider-Man). If BOTH Batman and Spider-Man had prep time and were willing to kill... it'd be the end of the world, with a stalemate since everything to counter the other would be nullified with a counter. I magine that Batman would bust out a mech and Spider-Man would wear one of his Spider-Armors to even the odds. ADC, can you draw Spider-Man in his Spider-Armor vs. Batman in a mech suit?!
@@kobe8135 ...Probably not. Most YTs see comments within the first 2~ hours mostly, after that the chance of being seen drops bigtime. But he might still see this! Here's hoping!
Great video, Awsome drawing. I think the left side $1:00 pencil, you got more of a darker look when wanting so. Mechanical pencils can sometimes scratch the paper & you won't get darker like you can with a regular pencil. PS, how is your jaw??? & do you talk this fast when you are at home with your wife? lol respect mate, Mel from Oz 😉
I generally have a fast speech pattern.. when around english people I speak much faster, I try to slow down for these videos and with my wife as shes German. My jaw was fine after a days rest.. thank you for your concern
@@ADCArtAttack Both my Mum and Dad are German. They came to Australia when they were about 4 years old. Mums 75 & Dads 71. I talk really fast after a can of Red Bull, it's like I'm on speed when I drink energy drinks lol 😂 xx Mel from Oz.
I'm perfectly happy with my 3.00 mechanical pencils. I feel in your video the mechanical was smoother but, the cheap pencil was heavier and was more perfect for batman.
If you want a sharpenable mechanical pencil, look into drafting pencils (aka lead holders). The leads tend to be thicker (2mm) that you sharpen in a vertical mechanical sharpener. You get the feel, weight, control and reusable lead of a mechanical pencil but can still get super sharp points, dull points, varied line thickness, and side shading.

Whenever I start to color my drawings (I do have a set of promarkers) the bleeding causes me headaches 😅. What paper is the best to use markers, in your opinion.
Thanks in advance.
I wouldn't buy a 70$ pencil...The price is too much. I am satisfied with the 1$ pencil.
The $70 pencil looks lighter but smoother. Very cool that you did one on pencils. I would choose the cheaper ones lol I did my very first marker mashup video where I pit the Firefly cheap alcohol markers with the Copics. :)
"I dont like them too long but i dont like them too short either" wise words from a wise man..😂
“For those beyond my borders” ha ha ha. Well done.
I like that rather than saying “HB” he says “hay-ch bee”.
From the artist's perspective, who is actually drawing, getting to feel the difference, and not just see, the $70 can feel amazing
But as an spectator, left side just wins, i like the harder strokes better, and also, its 1/70th of the price
Bakuzan one of them is 0.5 dollars so it is 1/140 the price
Nice way to starting my day... sick.
The video did make me feel better already, and I learned some tips! ;p
I still want to see you get thrift store art and add things to it.
I prefer the £1 pencil from looking at it but I'm not sure about the feeling of actually drawing it.
What kind of markers do you reccomend?
To tell you the truth, I couldn't see any difference between them worth talking about. :-) Over the years of being an artist myself, I've bought many various 'rich to the pocket' pens and Pencils. Mostly, I find it's down to personal taste. ( I won't even start on the many kinds and makes of paper I've been through :-})
I love to use graphite, and watercolour paints and Pencils.
Mechanical pencils are my favorite. Not worth $70 but I'd use it for sure
Awesome video 😎
I have a question ?
Is not the same thing a pen or mechanic pen?
Is not all is in the mine (graphite)?
I like using both wood "#2" HB and mechanical pencils.
But there's no way I'd spend $70 on a drawing utensil
Why spend that kind of money on a mechanical pencil anybody can get at Walmart for a few dollars. Which work fine.
Or a box of standard #2 pencils.
If anything I think this proves you don't need expensive art supplies to create great pieces of art.
Typically that's my aim for these videos :)
I'm not gonna lie. The $70 pencil side looks smoother to me and lines cleaner. I wouldn't pay $70 for any pencil but I think the issue was simply that it was a mechanical pencil versus a wooden pencil. I would have loved to see this drawing colored with markers too.
I’d like the $70 pencil if it wasn’t so pricey i like that smooth effect it gives
Anyway, thanks for listening to me.
I'll look into the marker stands though for sure. Thanks again!
i love your drawings keep up the good work
Color me intrigued.
You adapted to each different pencil really well
I actually really like the drawing of Batman. Good stuff.
💖💕❤
Hello ADC Artattack,
I have a question. Whitch color maker is the best voor a best result for a drawing?
Slippery slope! You'll need an $80 eraser to go with it now!
Cool 🔥🔥
No prep, random meeting between Batman and Spider-Man with both on top of their game that day, Spider-Man wins 9/10 times if they're both going all out. If Batman is able to prep for the encounter he may be able to devise a way to win.
A pencil for 70 bucks? Dude, not even my drawing tablet cost that much! :D
The real question is, will he respond?

And they usually less than $20..
