Man I'm seriously loving your channel. Your videos are informative for the beginner, novice and experienced alike. I've been binging all of your videos for a week now. Love your oranges, grapes, peppers, trees, demos, comparisons. Just excellent.
I've been painting professionally for a few years and now teach classes, and I must say, you certainly have good tastes when it comes to broad strokes. I think there is real merit to an artist that can paint with a style that is somewhat random in appearance up close, and then when you step back to that six foot space......bam!!.......A beautiful landscape. Very well done!
C 'est vraiment bien la façon dont vous expliquez. Je vous remercie aussi de ne faire aucune avance rapide. Tout ce que vous dites et dans toutes vos vidéos, aident beaucoup et donnent envie de peindre. Alors merci. MLS
Missed this one before. This was exactly what I needed to know for a landscape I’m working on. Thank you for such a great demo!! Mine were looking like big brown blobs of 💩, but I couldn’t figure out how to fix them 😄.
Hi Jason. Greetings from Norway. I am a beginner oil painter. I love watching your videos. Could you do a simple and easy landscape demo for us? From start to finish. I really hope you will continue to post videos. Your teaching style is very good. Have a great day.
Thanks for watching and for the nice comments! Yes, I will try to do a landscape demo in the near future. It's hard to do a full painting, because it makes the video so long. Meanwhile, there is a kind of landscape demo I did with pastels. You can watch it here: ruclips.net/video/J1FYk3GGiPI/видео.html
Thanks. FYI, I've heard that, as a guideline or rule of thumb, rocks should/can be painted with at least 3 sides. That is, other than round rocks as you pointed out. David
Thankyou Jason for your Rock demo, I have found it very useful. One comment would be if a insert photo of the rocks you were working from would be useful displayed say top right. 😎
I would love to have seen a photo of the rocks you are painting, in the beginning, to understand better how you are deciding where the highlighted and shadow parts are.
What medium or mixture of medium you used with the paint? What brush are you using? And thanks for all your information! I love your videos and your knowledge helps me so much!
Thanks for watching! My typicla medium is the traditional mixture of 1/3 each of linseed ooil, turpentine and damar varnish. I use a variety of brushes. I have videos about both mediums and brushes on my channel that you might enjoy. :)
Hi Jason. Your videos have been very informative. Would you consider doing one on painting water and reflections in your style? Also, please ignore the comment someone else made on a previous video. Something to the effect of "less talk, more doing." Your descriptions are never too lengthy or confusing and I doubt their opinion is shared by others. Nobody is forcing you to share your knowledge. I want you to know it is valued and appreciated.
Mr Walcott, you are, so far, the best teacher I've found on RUclips. Brilliant. Thank you.
Wow, thanks for such a nice comment and for watching! :)
I second that.

I did show a photo at the beginning of the video. I maybe should have made it visible longer. Sorry for the confusion! Thanks for watching! :)
Is this oil or acrylic paint? Being a beginner, it is important to know this.
These are oil paints. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Jason.

Yes, do a water demo, pleeease !
It certainly is coming across clearly what you're doing. This looks just like rocks and water, only different.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Screen was blacked out. Only audio
Should show the image for reference more often.
