SERIOUSLY, its so annoying when tech benchmarks say they're getting 80fps on like a mobile CPU with frame gen. Like dawg, no you're getting 30-40fps. Don't sugarcoat it!
@@fayzaanriaz796If you are wondering for Linux, yes the anti cheat gets in the way some times. But if the developers want they can make their game support Linux properly like THE FINALS, so it's not that there is something wrong with the OS. Call of duty specifically cannot be played currently
im so hyped getting my 7900xtx in a week finally going full amd and getting steam os after playing with other distros for to long now i can have the best linux drivers on 1 of my 10 operating systems on my pc phahahahhaa, nice work love the pcs
Yeah but you can emulate virtually every console on this. Given the sheer quantity of fantastic games out there, this PC could last a lifetime. I've been rocking a crappy PC for over a decade playing all the great titles of the past
This is the video I was waiting for! I love my Steam Deck and am a couch gamer so I am looking into a 4k60 gaming pc running Bazzite (or maybe someday SteamOS). Most video’s are about very compact machines that aren’t necessarily trying to max performance so thank you very much for this video ❤
My backup PC might be a good test for this OS. It's a RX 7600 XT 16GB paired with a 5700X3D on Windows 11 and gets good performance at 1080p. Sounds like a weekend project incoming.
CPU seems a bit of an overkill. GPU at 100% and CPU 10-20% @5.2Ghz except in a few cases like compiling shaders. I wonder if it might work better with just 8 cores instead of cores with two threads each. Pretty impressive CPU, and why it's hard to find at a reasonable price just now. Are there any games which really benefit from this, MMO's where it has to render lots of characters perhaps? Nice machine BTW.
Tbh, you want your gpu to be the bottleneck. If the gpu is the bottleneck you can adjust your graphics settings to get the performance you want. If your cpu is the bottleneck there's very little you can do about it.
I really should consider using Bazzite. I like the Steam Deck options, it's an immutable version of Fedora that I use and I normally use Flatpak anyways.
a1rm4x's RUclips channel a few weeks back went through Black Myth Wukong and explained a few things why it doesn't perform as well; his system I think is a AMD 5950 and RTX 4090. Thanks for showing this system off; I just have a 7800x3d and 7800xt, not as powerful but somewhere up there, heh.
I put Bazzite on my Legion Go and really dig it, I am seriously thinking of deleting my Windows partition and just using Bazzite exclusively. and am seriously thinking of building a Bazzite steam PC for my living room as well.
curious when containers in a virtual machine will be used for games, no installation, just perfectly optimised for a virtual machine -one click and you are running it, does not matter on what specs, like the old emulators that run virtual roms, does not matter what OS you run or what the actual hw configuration is as far it exceeds the optimal requirements that will be soon specs of a potatoe pc... even the n100 can run crysis now
For all your Bazzite builds, do you ever test if the PC can wake up from controller inputs? I've heard only the official xbox controller with microsoft's special dongle can do it so far, and I have had no success over bluetooth or dongle with a kk3 max from gulikit. The true console feel requires this, but the best I can get so far is wake-on-lan. Probably gonna get a little mini keyboard to use anyway, though that doesn't really solve the issue.
9800x3d has been un-obtanium here since 2 minutes after the official launch... yeah, you can buy the CPU, but at a hefty premium (a.k.a. €200,- over recomm. retail), even from "normal" stores... And the weeks before the 7800x3d was sold-out...
How do you optimise your peripherals for Linux? I'm trying to use Steam Deck in Desktop mode but the basic adjustment for the mouse doesn't feel right. I was hoping Steelseries had drivers for linux perhaps, but I don't seem to find them, nor other solutions are coming up
"....had drivers for linux...." That's how Windows works, not Linux, not MacOS, not ChromeOS... Windows. If your hardware is supported on Linux it'll be plug and play. "Piper" is a well known app for configuring supported mice.
I clicked on this hoping for a Valve version of SteamOS that I could install on one of my boxes. Bazzite is NOT SteamOS. I presume you made that statement in your title by mistake?
How does it work exactly? The code is written for the Windows operating system, isn't it? The programs don't support Linux natively, or am I on the wrong track? Because otherwise it's obvious that the games are slower than in Windows, there has to be a virtualization or emulation layer in between. It's like with all the Arm laptops. Most programs are written for Windows and have to be emulated or virtualized. Can someone who knows exactly explain this to me?
I would love this to be compatible with INTEL / NVIDIA chips. So I can use my old i9 9900k + rtx 3080 htpc i have running windows + steam big picture and change it bazzite
Î am so interested to test this myself on R7600+RX6800 @3440x1440. But the Main Games (ofc not the only games i play) i play are modded or Sim Racing based, so use Wheel, shifter, shifter knobs with extra functions, pedals, two sets of mkb, 3 monitors, VR and so on. I am not in need or look for a "more simple" OS or convenience. Convenience makes things often worse in my opinion. Depends heavily on the topic of course. I guess this is not for me then? I do not like Windows, but i do not hate it or have big problems with it. I use WIndows since 3.1 and had every Windows except 2000 and 8 (ok, 3.1 to XP was also more of a thing my Parents brought home :D) I just want to get rid of that and use Linux more. I guess the Steam OS would be something for a PC that is mainly used t oplay some vanilla Videogames on Steam and other launchers. Thats my takeaway at least. Moreover i would love to have a similar software as Adrenalin, since i need to set custom Fan curves, undervolt the Card and OC it. I need a tinker OS. I guess Steam OS is not for me then. At least thats what it feels. Performance looks absolutely great here though.
Awesome system! Unfortunately you cannot use its full potential as a living room PC when you hook it up to a 4K UHD screen, thanks to the political decision of the HDMI forum not to allow HDMI 2.1 features like 4K 120 or VRR on Radeon systems on Linux. :/
Need advice for an issue im having with Bazzite. I installed it on a pc and it will boot into Steam perfectly fine but the issue is that I no longer can access the motherboard Bios. The screen never comes up, and if i spam the Del key I just get a black screen from Bazzite and it wont boot at all which then causes a forced reboot.
Now i really like the content this channel produces but i am worried about so many "steam deck os" titles when thats not actually true. Right now its not a huge problem but if valce ever makes an official release for everyone it might be. Hopefully nothing bad comes of it.
Imagine what it'd be like to get this sort of performance on these games at the same resolution and settings natively on a steam deck or a similar gaming handheld with at least four and a half hours of battery life in the distant future. Hopefully in the next decade.

Best thing about Linux is that smooth frame time graph. It's soo smooth
I think that's the X3D CPU. The minimum frame times are always higher with those vs the standard. Its why they excel in VR games as well.
@@fredsas12 it's Linux as well. Stutters are more frequent on windows but overall FPS can be higher usually.

Why 7000MTs? UCLK has to run 2:1 at this setting. Might get better performance at 6000MTs with a UCLK to memory at 1:1.
