positive feedback/show that you care through time off, personal attention, and not treating humans as machines..empathy and proving that you are capable of working and not lazy will naturally make them want to work harder, let them know that you have an abundance of responsibilities and you must delegate..show that you are human, invite them to do your job, acknowledge and listen to them, let them always know that despite your kindness that you are firm in your expectations and will not tolerate disrespect and whining, because you must lead with or without them. As someone working at an understaffed place with new leaders still learning we have had to learn as a team how to delegate among ourselves. Our leader has family issues and has been unable to communicate with us. It's a little different though when your products are human lives. It forces you to care enough that we all are leaders with our own big headed ideas..teach everyone to lead and have a voice, put heart into your company. I once worked at a real factory, one manager respected by many died and was replaced by a man who only cared about products and money. Who do you think was more successful at getting the output? The first was so loved that people worked for pennies and pushed themselves out of respect, I once suggested at a meeting a raise for increased productivity, everyone laughed. He was that good at treating people with respect that they didn't care about their lack of money. My ex-mother in law still is there and the atmosphere is dead, cubicles to keep others quiet, good hands leaving, and misery is not any way to make a dollar. Only those without a heart can imagine people as parts of a factory. We were always the robots not yet purchased, one was just more obvious. But that is business, right? Wake Up to the new enlightenment where people are realizing they have worth, they are a bitch to control and cover their ass like a pro.

Nice Thoughts. Delegation in business is like a sharp knife which needs to be handled carefully. If not handled wisely, it would hurt us. Though there are many VA companies, hiring the right one and monitoring them is necessary. If not it would definitely affect the growth of any business. I have hired Habiliss VA for my small business. I monitor them carefully to make sure that my delegation is fruitful.

Another way to put it, IMO, "if you have enough time to do it more than once or fix it, then you have enough time to do it right the first time!"

Hello sir. I have a question , how can we avoid human error( intentional or unintentional) when automating the business process especially those that are completely cash based? As most small businesses are cash based and the owner fears that if someone else is delegated he may steal or do fraud.(eg in a general store)

We always appreciate Brian's practical advice. We have a show that helps local businesses work through problems and delegation is always a challenge to new business owners. Here is how we helped a local Winery with a similar issue: ruclips.net/video/HkEU10p95Zw/видео.html
