Geoff Mann, RIP. A great singer, artist and poet. At the time I had the Limahl haircut and beads a la Clive Mitten

Saw them supporting Pallas at Hammy odeon though by then Andy Sears was had just taken over, he was never really a patch on Geoff, I actually wrote to Geoff can’t remember where I got the address from, but to my surprise he replied. Twelfth night really underrated band.

Only with Geoff. After he left very average with the other singers.

I think Andy Sears is a superb vocalist, as is Mark Spencer. Geoff was a brilliant frontman, though.

Listening to this on February 25th, 2022. At this point in time, Russia has invaded Ukraine. Geoff Mann is totally right in saying that war is organized murder. He was a prophet. Rest in peace, Geoff Mann. 1956-1993.

This was their pinnacle IMO. Never caught this line up live and stupidly passed up opportunity to see Jan Six but was lucky enough to see Geoff Mann supporting Pallas at the Marquee :)

This started as an instrumental if I remember , I saw them a few times at Brunel university and reading top rank and at the greyhound pub down the Fulham palace road , they were great gigs

I was very luck to see TN with Geoff Mann in July, 1983 at the Marquee in London. I'd never heard any of their songs, just went because they were talked of as a prog rock band. They were *incredible*, a great live band. So great to see this clip of their masterpiece, "Sequences". RIP Geoff Mann, you are sorely missed.

@@dougmphilly I think Geoff was a sort of Peter Hammill of the 80s - great raw vocal, excellent lyrics, witty and charming character.

Thanks v much for sharing this. I taped this recording from the friday rock show and listened to it over and over again. My tape ran out just as the wah guitar solo was starting. I havent heard it for 20 years but even the intro is stuck in my head. Really taking me back. Thanks again.

Thank you for posting . it has been so good to re live these moments. I have just listened to “We are sane” as well and the poetry and emotion in these songs is brilliant.
Geoff mann was the real deal.. & TN were the best of them in my opinion. Saw them many times. He Seemed to have had more poetry and humility than fish and I couldn’t quite believe it when he stepped out of the limelight (as it were)
    Good post.

I thought TN were the best of the so called "New Prog" bands . I saw them with the late great Geoff Man (rip) a few times including the final gig at the Marquee in London around 1983/84 (a double live album was released )
The band lost momentum with Andy Sears . he was a nice bloke but not a patch on Geoff in any way.
