All I'm saying is that since this movie TECHNICALLY poses Sharkboy and Lavagirl as real people in the real world, we can only assume that Max has become an ethereal godlike being who's dreams have become so powerful and potent as to affect the real world.
From this, we can see that MAX HIMSELF is the reason why everything is going on, and is this the reason behind the actions of both the aliens and the Heroics group. He is both the antagonist and the protagonist of the movie.
I really hope there's a third film that comes out expanding on this, because it sounds dope as hell

I just want to point out that this movie got a 71% on rotten tomatoes while Skyhigh, which in my opinion was a wonderful movie only got 73%. I think rotten tomatoes needs to update their opinions on unlikely kid hero movies.

The cgi was like early 2000 game graphics and its barely even as good as those
So this movie basically has the same plot as the 4th Spy Kids movie: a parent must stop being part of an organization that saves the world because of their family, a big problem appears so they have to go back to action, the main kids go to the organization HQ where they get locked up for their safety, the entire organization gets defeated, the children escape but the adults try to stop them, an old family friend helps them, and at the end they realize the bad guy was the leader of the organization. It even has the same villain twist where if you play with the name letters you discover the villain (they just spelled it backwards instead of an anagram). Yikes.
And featuring the main characters of the past movies as cameos.
At least spy kids 4 had some merit

The only explanation I can think of is that their powers weren't as easy to control when they were kids, but now they can manage their powers more. Lavagirl probably found a way to keep herself cool in specific parts of her body.

When I first heard about the sequel I thought that the daughter of Lava Girl and Shark Boy would be the main character, y’know, their daughter, the fetus that Lava Girl and Shark Boy made. I wasn’t really looking forward for this but this movie was lower than my expectations and I didn’t even have any.
How this is called Shark Boy and Lava Girl I have no idea. Not only are they side characters but all members of their family are side characters. It’s NOT a Shark Boy and Lava Girl movie it’s a random little girl with no super powers movie.

You know Robert Rodriguez is like the Reddit 50/50 of the film industry. Sometimes he makes great movies like Alita: Battle Angel or From Dawn till Dusk and then sometimes you get stuff like this...
Alita being good definteily isnt a popular opinion. Also who made Dusk Till Dawn is debatable, Directing was Rodriguez, but script was written mostly by Tarantino

Does this all imply that Max from the original movie is just an omega level reality warper? Like he can literally just imagine something and conjure it into existence with little to no effort. Why is he not the leader of the heroics? HE LITERALLY CREATED TWO OF THEIR STRONGEST MEMBERS IN HIS SLEEP
They could have made this a better coming of age story where the kids apprentice under their parents. A cool father daughter film with Shark boy teaching his daughter how to use her powers would have been better.

The name is We Can Be Heroes. I see the trailer sometimes on Netflix after my little brother finishes watching some animation. It makes pretty clear it is a movie about children of superheroes; why do everyone keep seeing it as a Sharkboy and Lavagirl sequel? Maybe it was marketed as such on news?
It's cause marketing for the film was heavily like from the maker of spy kids and shark boy and lava girl. Trailers immediately showing the two most of their fight scenes. Then quick cut to the new kids, so it seemed first off more like a sequel next gen type of movie about sharkboy and lava girl.

Sure the stretchy kid can't reach that far but we have a girl who can float. When they finally got someone down the hole they couldn't bring her back up so Wild Card had to teleport down there anyway.

This movie genuinely feels like they had a just a generic kid super hero movie about 85% finished then some exec realized that nostalgia pandering was super popular so they decided to throw in sharkboy and lava girl in last second because money, I guess. That or maybe there was a SbLg sequel script that got scrapped at some point but they already made the costumes and got Lava Girl's og actress so they just put them in this so they don't go to waste.
