THANK YOU for this resource! Since going online for distance learning, figuring out how to get my kids meaningful practice they can actually edit has been a challenge. This helped so much! THANK YOU!
But I did all of this but when I add in google classroom the text boxes are not showing. It is not editable
I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW GRATEFUL I AM FOR THIS INFORMATION!! I have been looking for 2 weeks for exactly this solution and have tried so many different sites that want to host your materials so that parents have to have sign-up, too! And then want to charge you to access your own documents! Thank you!!!!

This is such a valuable tutorial! I've been searching to find out how to do this and am so glad that I found you. This is going to help my students learn in an easier manner.
Thanks so much for creating this video! I have had so many questions in my TpT store about converting a resource to digital. Your video has been my go to answer to their issue since I do not have time to convert everything to digital. I just copy the link to this video to help them out. It has been a life saver. I even sent it out to all the teachers at school since we are doing digital learning this fall. Thanks again!
OMG this video saved my life. I kept trying to do this because I saw another teacher doing it and could not remember how to do it. Thanks a million!
Game Changer!!! This is the only video on how to do this that makes perfect sense to me. Thank you
Thanks! I had never heard of the snipping tool! I was taking a screenshot then having to change it to a jpeg, open a Word Document, insert the pic and save it. This will be so much easier! I always loved and used PowerPoint, so Google Slides will be a breeze!
Thank you so much!! I've been making Google Forms for every assignment. This is so much easier!!!
I love you for this! I can now cancel the free trial to Adobe. I had given up all hope that there was a free way to add text boxes to my pdf worksheets. This is perfect. Thank you so much!
Bravo! I have been looking for tutorials/someone that will show me how to do this for at least a year. Thank You! Now, I'm ready to check out your store on TPT.
Suzette West you are so welcome! Happy to help!
Wow! This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks
So helpful and concise! Thank you for posting.
Thank you SO much for posting this! Still trying to get the hang of Google Classroom and I have so many great PDF's that I couldn't use. This video was an absolute lifesaver, thank you!!!

I already knew how to do this, but I watched your entire video because I wanted to know how to make an excellent explanatory video. Well done!
I've only just watched the first 30 seconds and I already love you!! Thanks
WOW Thank you so much for this !! I've been trying so many different things in order to make my PDF workbook fillable and savable. I didn't want to pay for Adobe and you just saved me so much money, time and frustration!! Forever Grateful! This will now be my go-to technique. Thank you thank you thank you
You are so welcome! Happy to help! Let me know if you have any other questions! contact@naomimeredith.com
OMG! i love you so much ... This makes so much sense to me ... Now all the parents of my Spec Ed students will be more supported! This is just fantastic and not at all difficult to do ... don't need anything else to add. So clear.

Yesss I needed this. Thank you so much!!
Tx Naomi. 1 BIG TIP for making txt boxes faster: 1) insert the top row of txt boxes by pasting 1 at a time; 2) hold down ctrl & click on all the top row of txt boxes to select them; 3) CTRL + C : to copy the entire row of boxes; 4) CTRL + V : pastes an ENTIRE ROW of boxes at a time; 5) move the ENTIRE ROW into position (repeat 4 & 5 as often as you would like)
OMG!!!! I love you. I was trying to insert my cute worksheets in google docs and they didn't transfer cute. This is the best!!!!!!!

This is brilliant. I am a college prof who uses Google Slides in class rather than PowerPoint, but I never thought of this: taking advantage of the text box option within slides, which is not in Google Docs. I never even thought of re-sizing the slides! Duh :>(
I often use Google Docs instead of Slides because I can fit more text on them -- when I have a textual specimen, for example.
Thank you so much. Your instructions were very clear and easy to apply in my own teaching!
Thank you so much. This was the easiest tutorial to follow and I will be able to use so many of the resources I already have.
Thank you so much! You just changed my whole way of making documents... for this online learning time and for after!!!!

Thanks!!
You just made my life 1000,000 times easier! Thank you!
Thank you!!! Just subscribed. I’m going to binge watch your videos as I learn how to do remote teaching and set up google classroom.
Teacher Inspiration Station thank you! I’m working on the Google Classroom Set Up videos this week so stay tuned. I appreciate you!
Naomi Meredith Great! I’ll be on the lookout for those. 😄👍🏾
Thank you for sharing how edit a pdf on google slides. I also learned how to change the size of a page.
It's nice to see a female teacher present tech skills. I loved your explanation and it was an easy tutorial to follow. With distance learning in place, we really need this so students that have no book at home and need a worksheet can have one. They can write easily on the worksheet. A good tool for math teachers! I have a lot of ideas .
Thank You!! This is very helpful!
This is super helpful. Thank you SO much!
Thank you for sharing this technique. You have included so much good advice.
Wow, thank you for sharing this useful tool!
Thank you so much. You just saved my lesson plan!!!
Thank you so much for your video! It has been very helpful. I am new to G slides and am looking forward to giving my students meaningful work that they can do online.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
Thank you!!! This was so amazingly helpful.
THIS WAS EXCELLENT. THANKS SO MUCH. GREAT WAY TO DO THIS.
Thank you! Thank you!! Exactly what I needed. You are a lifesaver!! :)
Yessss I knew there was a way. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for this video! Excellent instructions!
Thank you so much! I so needed to see this video. This seems so simple. Gracias!
I really needed this!
Very cool.... now the work begins... Thank you for sharing...
Thank you!!!! You just saved me a ton of time! This is amazing!!!! You are my new best friend!
Thank YOU!! Over a year later and this vid is a salvation!! THANK YOU!
~diane (subbed to your channel by the way). :-)
Super helpful, thank you!
Thank you so much!!!! This is going to be so helpful this fall!!!
Love this... this help me soo much thank you.... what are your suggestions when the sheets have lines for students to write on??
If it’s a lot of lines for a longer response, I will make the textbox filled in with white and place that on top of where it goes on the worksheet. That way kid won’t obsess about getting the text to fit perfectly on the lines.
Thank you so much for posting this tutorial! Very easy to follow. How do I make the image larger once it is in slides? It is really small.
I just stumbled upon your channel, and with everything going digital, you don't know how helpful this video has been. I am a novice at Google classroom, do you have any tutorials on it, Forms in particular? Thank you!
live2teach I don’t have any videos right now on Google Forms, but I have a Getting to Know Google Forms product in my store that would be helpful to help you learn and even for your students to create them in the future. Here is the link! www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Getting-to-Know-Google-Forms-Mini-Lesson-Scavenger-Hunt-2965679

@@sjm1608 Do you mean edit an image with text boxes as in the video? As I understand, she snipped the PDF and saved it as a PNG image. Then she used the PNG image as a background in the Google slide.
RogueReplicant No, I was referring to the the pencil tool on the top right that does the same thing without all of those steps. Students can edit a pdf, png, jpeg, etc. on a mobile device by clicking on the pencil tool to edit the document and edit immediately without the teacher having to do any extra editing. However, if they are using a computer then you would need to edit the document as in the video. Most of my students use their phones. That’s why I suggested another option as well that doesn’t require additional editing. Both methods work. Hopefully that makes sense.
Going digital has me freaking out, I have so many resources that I want to use but didn't know how to make the digital and interactive. I am feeling better and will be referring to your videos many times!
Thank you! I’m glad that I was able to help you out and make you feel less stressed!
Thank you! This was very helpful!!
Thank you very much! This will come in handy.
great tutorial, thank you so much!!!
So thankful for this video!
I LOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE you and your sweet face. Thanks for being a helpful teachers. Teachers supporting teachers! YAHOO!
I need your help! This is all new to me. I was able to create a slide that works but at the end of your video you mentioned to make sure we make a copy for our students vs. sharing to put in Schoology so that it isn't the same one. Do you have a video that shows us how to do that? I just don't want to mess it up. THANK YOU SO MUCH! This video was so easy to follow.
I love this add and thank you for this resource!
You’re welcome!
Thanks a million for this video! How do you keep the students from moving the text boxes you insert for them to answer questions? Thanks!
This was sooooo helpful, thank you! Question on making a copy so student's can actually edit/add their answers. Do you have to make a copy for every student and assign individually?
Jenna E You are welcome! I would suggest Google Classroom if possible. It will automatically create copies for each of the students in your class (when you click that option.)
Thank you so much for sharing this Google instructional practice. Awesome
You’re so welcome!
You are amazing!! Game changer!!! Thanks.
Thank you soooooo much!!! This is so helpful!!!
Thank you, it helped so much!
Thank you SOOOO much!
What can I say? You just saved my life!!
This is what I've been looking for, something simple. I am having problems as my image is saved as a bmp file as that is my only option and it will not upload onto google slide. Any ideas of how to fix this problem?
Thank you! This is super helpful! We’re using Seesaw instead of google classroom, for K/1. Do you know how to make sure every student has their own copy, if I’m just sharing the link?
Jaclyn Jensen I actually have a video here on my channel about how to make a PDF shareable in Seesaw! I would check it out. In Seesaw, when ready to assign, you will click the whole class or individual students you want to assign to in Seesaw. You typically don’t share them the Google Slide link if you want them to edit on top of it. Definitely go check out my other video and it will make more sense for Seesaw. :)
Thanks for this great presentation.
You Rock! Thanks for this,
YES! Thank you!
Hi, I am having trouble with resizing in presentation....also. can you annotate on this..example a math worksheet where they write answers? or circle answer...Last
how do I assign in google classroom.....Thanks in advance to all your help...Very new at all of this .
Thank you very, very much!!
This is great. Any way for the students to be able to draw an answer?? For example, if doing a math "worksheet" and they need to write numbers or fractions to show their work?
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I cannot thank you enough!
exactly what I have been scouring the internet for --thank you
I followed your directions, clicking page set up to custom and typing 8.5 x 11 since the original pdf was portrait. The slide is small, maybe a 1/3 of the page. The text boxes do work but it is too small for the students to read the slide. I must be doing something wrong? Please help because this sounds like a life-saver. When I assign the google slide to the students and click on it as an attachment, the whole slide is still too small to work with, even though the text boxes are fillable. Thanks in advance for your reply.
Joanne Dicke Make sure when taking a screenshot of the original PDF, you make that PDF as large as you can on your screen. Also, ensure that you are inserting that screenshot as the background as your slide. That should make it fill up the space and be large enough for students to work with.
I am clearly a novice and wonder if you might be able to explain how do the text boxes stay in place without moving around the page? Is there a specific way to save the slide? THANKS for your assistance.
Thank you for your information.
Bless you for sharing this -
Thank you!! Can I ask why you delete? My drive is full of stuff so want to understand more about clearing it up. But if you delete this you loose the resource?
HI. Great help! I followed the steps and added text boxes to a worksheet. When I added it as an assignment in google classroom, it appears when they would click on it that it won't allow them to type a response on it. I am not sure what I did wrong.
Jessica Hoover Good Job! That’s amazing! Make sure when you are assigning in Google Classroom, you click the tab ‘Classwork’ first, then ‘Create’-Assignment. You can add your worksheet there and ensure you click the button ‘Each student gets a Copy’. That should fix your issue! Also make sure the share settings of your original document are ‘Anyone with the link can view’
Great video. I am new at making a PDF editable. I am working on a macbook. Can you recommend a snipping tool. There are so many. Thanks!
Thank you!
Hi, once I make it a copy how did I get it from my google slides onto schoology. This way students don't see others comments if I made it a copy right? Thank you- First grade teacher in need
Wow! Thanks for egtting back to me so soon. I was using the snipping tool. Should I be doing something different to make a screen shot? (I'm not sure how to do that). The other thing is when I'm in the snipping tool and trying to snip, it won't let me scroll down to get the whole page when snipping a portrait doc. Any suggestions?
Joanne Dicke If you’re on a PC, snipping tool is the way to go (like I showed here). On a Mac, screenshots are different. And you’re correct, once you cannot scroll. Open up the PDF page as large as possible, and take a screenshot from there.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Absolutely life changing!! Like wow, life just got so much better with digital teaching. So then they do the work right there and then it sends back to you somehow so that you can review it???
Jocelyn Dewe If you assign it in Google Classroom; yes! Make sure to check out my 3 part video series here on my RUclips Channel all about Google Classroom. I’ll show you how to set it up, assign work and view work. Sounds like you’re ready for it!
I have a question about students submitting a copy of the fillable pdf. Do they need to save it to their drive first, or after filling it in can they just click on turn it in? Thanks for your help!
Juliann Witt They need to make a copy that will automatically save to their Drive. If you can, I would suggest setting up a Google Classroom. It will automatically make a copy for each student (saves it to their Drive) and you can access their work in there. I recently added 3 videos here on my RUclips channel about Google Classroom that can point you in the right direction and next steps.
So helpful!
Beautiful! thank you mam!
Hello. I love this video and folllowed step by step but it is so small. When I go to snip document I cant see it all so I have to minimize to 50% to snip all of it, but then the slide is very small. Any suggestions?
Thank you for sharing!! I do have a question, though. I got lost at the end. How do I make a copy of the editable worksheet for my students? You said not to share.
Stephanie Scott Definitely! Check out one of my newest videos I just posted about Google Classroom, Assigning & Viewing Student work. This is the platform I like to use where it gives the option to automatically make a copy for each student.
Thank you so much! I am noticing that the version that goes on to Classroom is blurry. Any clues how to correct this?
Michelle Koczor Make sure when taking a screenshot, the PDF is made as large as possible on your screen. It also depends on how the original PDF was made and saved; it could result in loss of pixels and make it blurry.
Thank you so much Naomi! Is there any way to lock down the text-boxes so that they don't move around when my students enter their answers?
Ha! I was just thinking the same thing. They delete the text box by accident and then don't know that they can make their own text box, so they just skip the answer!
that's great. Do you know how to make pencil control path using powerpoint?
Is it possible to lock the text boxes in place? I use Schoology? Or do I need to use a different program?
Melanie Foster The text boxes will stay where you put them, but kids are still able to move the text boxes. They will also grow when a lot of words are typed in them.
THANK YOU!!
so when the students get their copies, are the text boxes non-changable in size for them? Or do the text boxes stay the same size and they can't change them? How do you do that?
Laurie Elliott They can technically still change them and the size; you can’t lock them at place. Thankfully though, this quick little fix prevents major editing changes to the entire document.
How do you make a copy? Thank you for this tutorial?
