I am Russian, I can tell you that 2014's sanctions I felt much more vividly, at that time ruble went from 32 to 66 and we had no domestic production to large extent, so most things became twice more expensive. Today 80% of consumed items are either made in Russia/China or EaEU.

Russia is resource-rich, technologically capable, and adheres to conservative principles that keep people more focused on producing things of value for its community and country. Europe could've made it part of its community, but its pride wouldn't let them, and the USA refused to let Russia get too close out of fear. The fear was that Europe if intertwined with Russia, would inevitably become something more powerful than the USA, rob them of their reserve currency status, and create a situation where "Eurussia" was the new global superpower. However, now it has to contend with something worse: a unified Russia and China that are making their own club.

Then it downgraded own currency and exchange rate became $1 = ₽100. It means for exactly same good country already earn in 10 times more. Now country can sell own good of $0,5 and earn ₽50. So, it sell more and earn more at same time. It is exactly what Russia did.

Inflation arrives in chains where is used foreign goods (as example you produce bus, everything is local made except engine, so yep, price for bus will be increased because of engine only). But in case of -Russia- large country it is temporary effects, because on next stage arrive local company which propose locally made engine, of course cheaper than foreign. So, after temporary inflation you get a) deflation b) new industry c) more money left in your country, less needs to buy foreign goods.

The two countries had wars in the past, but for all that, the Russian people have always treated the Germans well. Russia has provided you with affordable energy. I received euros for this, and then I paid the same euros for the products that you produced and sold. These are jobs in Germany, a growing economy and production, and the prosperity of the population. It was beneficial for everyone. What about now? The Nord Stream was blown up, and Scholz chews snot and is silent. Did you get rid of cheap Russian gas and stop being dependent? No. Now you are even more dependent on the USA.

Das sind Arbeitsplätze in Deutschland, eine wachsende Wirtschaft und Produktion, Wohlstand in der Bevölkerung. Es war für alle von Vorteil. Und was jetzt? It's no wonder that imposing sanctions on the country you were trying to colonize will make it more independent. The reason why Russia is improving so much is because it gradually liberates itself from the exploitation that existed after the collapse of the USSR. The whole collective west lives because of stealing from others. It's ridiculous how much prosperity they stole. Russia was always supposed to be a strong economy. One of important things that still needs to be done though, is to change the humiliating constitution that was written by USA, and nationalize the central bank in Russia which is owned by USA. Without that, i can't imagine Russia becoming fully independent. And i have to remind you, that the reason it wasn't done before is because Russia sincerely tried to become friends with the west. As always, it is easy to decieve Russia, but impossible to destroy it.

Except that China and Russia are friends, and they work together of necessity. Tucker Carlson is incorrect. If China is the enemy, then so is Russia. However, China doesn't want to be an enemy. They peacefully build infrastructure for trade and prosperity. They lift others out of poverty as much as their own people. No one is less deserving of enmity and vitriol. They deserve admiration.

This is funny. Cyrus does not understand that GDP is mostly not an indicator of a healthy economy but of the economic activity. The economic activity (and growing GDP) may lead to a wealthier nation if you produce iphones, pharmacy, modern machines or even just pump & sell oil (Russia’s case) but won’t if you use labor force, material, transport and infrastructure for making shells or tanks.
Sanctions work. Just slowly - there are shortages in chips, spare parts for the critical equipment, from atomic stations to planes and trains, lack of medical equipment, foreign (generally, more advanced) medicine, etc. - just they affect ordinary people, not the elite. So, the Russian leader can honestly say that they don’t work. Definitely, not for him.

I'm Russian. I apologize in advance for mistakes. The sanctions were visible only in 2014, but after this year the sanctions are not even visible. The funny thing is that no one cares about them anymore. Russia has calmly adapted to the fact that products, etc. disappeared from stores. Our country has been trying to develop its domestic economy all its life, and now we are developing even more. The only thing is that the villages really live in poverty, the sanctions are noticeable there. However, to be honest its always been like that. Also prices rise, but sararies don`t. That`s all.
