Future Trunks and Mai should have stuck around in the present. I like the story they gave him, he feels hopeless because of all he's lost but from the example of others he pushes forward and achieves the impossible. Just wish we saw more of him.
Future Trunks was so cool, that he managed to be a fan favorite with a Jean Jacket and a fucking BOWL CUT.

Trucks is such a cool character! Despite his entire introduction sounding like a fanfic he somehow nails everything in the android/ cell saga!

Xeno Trunks actually picks up from where super leaves off the Supreme Kai of time finds him gives him a scolding for all his time travel then offers him a job and a new home to make up for his mistakes asking for his help agnist demons messing with timelines across the multiverse resulting in him founding the Time Patrol which consists of wariors of lost timelines like his own to battle foes like Towa and Mira. He comes into his own here as a leader and makes up for his past short comeings alot.
To me XenoVerse Trunks is best Trunks

Minor correction: It's a VERY common misconception that Bulma's family name is Briefs. They don't even have a family name! Briefs is just her dad's one and only name. Family names are actually really uncommon in the Dragon Ball world. The Son family is one of the few exceptions.

Just to clarify, while both Xeno Trunks, and Future Trunks are Trunks, they are NOT the same Trunks Xeno is apparently from an unseen timeline that does much of the same things as Future

Wait, does the premature vanquishing of Cell mean that k;lling baby Hitl3r is a neutral good act?
I'd argue no. Cell was programmed with a mission from birth, so his alignment was set at his creation.

If you took a baby Cell (with normal programming) and a baby Hitler then tried to raise the two to be good, it would be much more likely for baby Hitler to end up good than baby Cell because baby Cell is an artificially made creature with programming from his conception. Cell was born and made to be a killing machine that would hunt down Goku, and we even see that the DNA of Frieza, Cold, and Vegeta can influence his behavior separate from the programming (Ex: the Cell games since the pride of those three and Goku's love for fighting made Cell want to test his new power, as well as kill two birds with one stone by killing Goku testing his new power). Hitler was not born hating Jews or wanting to commit mass genocide on them. However Cell was born not only with evil programing, but the DNA of evil creatures that is shown to actively influence his behavior separate from the programming.
In comparison to baby Hitler, to get a good baby Cell; one would not only need to reprogram Cell to be good but would also need to actively find a way to prevent (at the very least) the DNA of Frieza and King Cold from being included so that there's absolutely no evil influence in him. But, what do you reprogram him with? Just basic free will? Only do things that help people? And even then, is all that hassle worth allowing an extremely powerful creature that suddenly may have its own free will to choose what it wants to do and would be extremely hard to stop if it decided to do something you didn't like?
Cell was an embryo, so no.

Seriously the ending of Trunks' story in Super is the kind of backstory you give a villain who goes on a rampage because he has nothing left. The writers did him so dirty the only way they could have done him worse is to just kill him and then have the heroes go "nah let's not wish him back, he deserves rest." Whoever was the brainchild of the Goku Black arc HATED Trunks with every fiber of their being.
Trunk is definitely one of the most pure good characters in all of DBZ, and is one of my favorite characters in the series. Now I want to see Gohan done and see how good he is.
And the names for the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and Cell were perfect.

It's an old name, but do Rocky Balboa. The fact that he would start on the good end of the wheel despite starting as a mafia leg breaker makes him genuinely interesting.
To be fair, Rocky was also really bad about the leg breaking. He was scolded for not breaking fingers once or twice
I still love that Goku is the Epitome of Chaotic Good while Trunks never fluctuates from the Good spectrum unlike Vegeta who got out of the Evil Spectrum after a lot of BIG Evils he's done somehow through the eventually wholesome Rivalry with Goku gets Redeemed to Good

I find what you said about Trunks being sidelined in super and him keeping up in Z to be the opposite of what happened.
In Z Trunks only wins on fight at the end of the arc, and two at the end. And every other fight he’s in involves him being owned.
While in Super he’s able to actually put up a fight and even overwhelm his opponents. Sure he doesn’t win any of the fights. But none of the heroes won any of the fights in that arc.
The black saga was essentially hyperbolic time chamber without hyperbolic time chamber, send goku and vegeta to nearly die then bring em back for that good ol saiyan bloodline to boost their power. Then repeat. And yeah I agree trunks got a lot of good moments both in and out of combat. He has a lot of depth

Characters across timelines are interesting, but now that you've done Trucks, it'd be interesting to see Gohan.
That's like a 5 minute video if you mean Future Gohan. Gohan does his best to protect the world in the face of overwhelming odds: Lawful Good. Gohan spots a possibility of Earth having another defender, and takes on Trunks as his protege: Neutral Good. Gohan bores out Bulma: chaotic neutral. Gohan chops Trunks in the neck, knocking him out, and protecting him from the overwhelming might of the Androids: I'm saying Neutral Good, but I'd hear an argument for Lawful. Gohan makes a heroic last stand against the Android menace, losing his life to defend his world: Lawful Good
I've always felt a stronger connection to Trunks than I have other DBZ fighters tbh. I grew up with DBZ Kai, DBZ Abridged, and Tenkaichi 3 at sleepovers. I've always been more of of a story centric lover with Dragonball, and I found Future Trunks (and even the DBZ Abridged Goku Super Saiyan scene) to be the most interesting character in the show, especially when comparing his Super Saiyan Transformation scene with Goku's; it's heart-wrenching, painful, and you can hear the anguish in Trunks despite the amazing power that he suddenly gains access to. Future Trunks will always be my favorite DBZ character, and I pray that the series respects him more as a whole.
This is a common misconception, but Trunks' second name isn't briefs... Actually, he doesn’t HAVE a second name. Neither does Bulma, nor does Bulla, or even Briefs himself. Briefs is his FIRST name.
In the world of Dragon Ball, second names are apparently EXTREMELLY rare as stated by Videl while commenting on the fact that Gohan's second name is Son, the same second name as Goku, which is how she found out Goku was Gohan's dad.
In the case of Dr. Briefs, he doesn’t have a second name (or a first name, i should say), his full name is JUST Briefs, the same applies to both Dr. Wheelo & Dr. Gero, who ALSO don't have a second name.
That may explain why everyone's names are so weird. Nearly everyone has a different name because they only have one. That's why they jave bizarre names like Boobs, carrot, bra, lunch and assorted other silly names.
this is the same reason, why Mr. Satan's First Name isn't Hercule. Hercule is only the dub name and Mr. Satan is an alias (like Batman for Bruce Wayne). His real name is Marc, but a lot of people make this mistake.

This was great. Trunks is such a great character too. I'd like to say I have a personal theory about Trunk's power up. I don't think it's God Ki. I think what's happening is that Trunk's dedication to this world allowed him to absorb the hope of others. The Spirit Bomb into Spirit Sword shares the same energy color. I'd like to dub the form Spirit Super Saiyan. I believe the form is given power from the hope of the planet, all on his shoulders.

I had forgotten how much Terminator 2 and Alien had influenced this arc.
Also, you forgot the Nat Horny of Krillin sparing Android 18.
Beerus would be a fascinating character to examine.
I know this isn't going to relative to the video, but I just wanted to say thank you for coming to GalaxyCon in Raleigh. It was super cool meeting you Stu and the crew and I hope you come again next year. I admit this was the largest GalaxyCon we had so far in the large scope of Actors and VAs and in vendors I've been too.
But back to the video, I'm happy to see Trunks getting his own D&D Alignment video as he's one of my favorite characters for being this Sci-Fi part of DBZ. I've enjoyed all the DBZ alignment video being put out and I would like to see the Picolo/Kami if and when that comes out.
(Also sorry if I called you the wrong name, I know a lot of RUclipsrs and I didn't get an appropriate amount of sleep for that trip. It was only afterwards the name came back to mind)
An important thing to note is that Trunks wanted to train with Vegeta, but he was rebuffed and basically told "You go train over there, I don't want your loser to rub off on me." by his not-dad

If you wanted to do another dbz xharacter Gohan or Bulma would be good.
Gohan go through multiple philosophical lifestyles, and flops commitments.
Bulma has a varied history as well. Swapping back and forth constantly from compassionate to vicious, greedy to giving, and so forth.

Would have been interesting and less depressing if when Xeno destroyed his timeline if the Earthlings that had survived up to that point could have been transferred by the grand priest to the newly restored Universe 6 Earth.

Black & Zamas took care of Enma, King Kai & everyone else who could take the "rol" of God of Creation (usually Supreme Kai's species), so there could be no God of Destruction.
-> It is implied that (future) Grand Zeno "deleted" EVERYTHING [including lost souls], given that was basically what remained of fused/undead/inmortal Zamas without his physical body.
I guess another Super Wish would be required to "undelete" the souls of mortals killed by Black & Zamas (then a "normal" wish for the mass_teleportation of souls into a container that fits in the time machine), then they are just another normal mass_ress wish from being alive again [wherever that container is moved & open].
But... is unclear if ANY wish made by dragons can overcome time barriers (even trying is probably also punished with hakai/deletion)

I think one thing we can all take away from this is he starts at True Neutral, and then just goes up and the big argument is if he's Lawful or Neutral Good, because no one disagrees he's up there in the good alignment, just which part he belongs in. While you can argue about Goku and Vegeta as pure blooded saiyans, Trunks and Gohan are full on kind hearted heroes. I think there were two times he ticked down just a tad....and it's ironically from Vegetas influence.
I think almost any Dragon Ball fan would agree Trunks is one of the mots kind hearted heroic characters, always looking out for others and trying to help them.

Honestly it would of been better for Trunks if Super just made Xenoverse canon, making him basically a time cop of sorts trying to ensure no villians change the past to their own benefit.

Trunks traveling through time is NOT Lawful Good. Time Travel itself is strictly forbidden by the Kai.
The only reason Trunks was given a pass was because he did so to save his world... and because Whis and Beerus are easily distracted by food.
I'd put all of Trunks's instances of Time Travel under Neutral Good at best, Chaotic Good at worst.
Wouldn't killing Cell before he wakes be Lawful Evil? He is a world ending monster, but Trunks is still killing someone in their sleep before they even commit a crime.
Also killing King Cold, is it Lawful Good because he gave him a choice of whether to fight or retreated, or is it more chaotic and less good because he seems to toy with him? His behavior prior to that point indicates that Trunks would have killed him anyway, unlike the other Z-fighters.
Planet Earth is Trunks Castle (legally speaking), regardless of the timeline.
-> You could argue that Mr. Briefs is the defacto King of the World (industrially speakkng), making Bulma the Princess of Earth.
The moment Freeza & his father step on the dirt of Earth, they were infringing is home.
He did gave them the choice to leave when he manifested his super-saiyan condition (they were supposed to be killed by Goku that day, he was balancing the protection of future history vs. present people).
Still think gohans body would have gotten more of an emotional impact from both trunks and goku

Trunks' rage mode in Super is proof that the whole concept of the show goes to hell when the power levels get so outlandish. You either arbitrarily power up weaker characters to keep them relevant (rage trunks, beast gohan, orange Piccolo, fucking No.17) or you toss interesting characters to the wayside and instead bring in boring new ones. Or I suppose you just ignore the power scaling entirely and do whatever you feel like (see the whole damn ToP).

Future Trunks should have been ale to stay in the main timeline, who cares if there would be 2 of them now? it would give us a cool rivalry between both Trunks, he could have been in the ToP and been boosted to God Level to match everyone else

I remember when the Black arc started I legitimately squealed. F Trunks has and will always be my favorite character in the franchise, and I was so happy to see that more was getting done with him. And then, the ending happened. Now, I can excuse the mopeyness. He fought so hard for his future, and after finally saving it, a bigger threat rolled up and made it hell again. He can be a little mopey, as a treat. But erasing his entire timeline and just depositing him and Mai off in a different one (especially after an ehh final blow that was more magic of friendship than anything the show had done so far, and that's from someone who likes the sword of hope) just infuriates me. I don't know how involved Toriyama was in that specific regard, but I'm still not happy about it.
Nick Landis and Scott Frerichs put Trunks in the best way. He is a total badass when he has the situation under control. However the moment he loses it, shit hits the fan and becomes... a total screw up for lack of better term.

Chaotic Good. He is doing good things but messing whit time is a last resort crazy plan.
Trunks has possibly the worst hand dealt in all Dragonball. He's John Connor, Kyle Reese and Marty McFly if he was given the original Pinnochio treatment where his honestly good actions just bite him in the butt over and over. Super did Trunks dirty (no pun intended). Trunks is one of the most good characters in the story.
What alignment is Ainz Ooal Gown and the floor guardians from Overlord?
They probably didn't know. In Japan, Black, particularly when using the English word, isn't associated that strongly with any race. It's just the color over there, like the Black Ranger. And yeah, Funimation knew when they reached this part, but decided to just keep it. I hear the VA for Trunks had to do that line quite a few times to stop laughing as he said it.
I think you should look into the xeno / capsule Corp versions of the characters for fun and maybe if you want to cover them in a video I would start with capsule Corp Vegeta or Xeno trunks from the mangas or anime because it's just easier to get through all the material that way

Ok I think the ending of the Zamasu saga would've been a lot better had they gone the route of merch. Toei knows that Future Trunks is way more popular than Current Trunks and that C Trunks won't ever reach the same level of popularity. Meaning F Trunks merch sells really well, issue is that F Trunks is stuck in a different timeline which limits how much merch they can make. Hell the Zamasu saga was probably made just so they can make more F Trunks merch.
And what I'm about to say is what I though they where leading up too but didn't. But after the future was destroyed, what if F Trunks stayed in our timeline rather than going to an alternate future. If they keep him in the current timeline they would be able to make plenty of merch as F Trunks would be a character in every arc moving forward meaning he'd probably get new forms regularly and also new cool moves and moments all of which would allow for more merch opportunity.
Its still not a great ending, but the upside is that F Trunks becomes a mainstay character for future story. Like imagine F Trunks fighting in the TOP or battling against Cell Max. We could also see something goofy like Fused Trunks.

The Super Future trunks timeline needs the existence of Goten and a child may to work
while neither of those things existed in the og future trunks timeline
How is the Gohan death scene barely canon?
In the manga we don't even get a panel of the fight 17 and 18 just rush him and we cut to when Trunks finds him. His fight was so one-sided the artists didn't bother.
I feel like I must have forgotten what this channel (and apparently the Internet at large) defines as Lawful, because I would've assumed Trunks would be Neutral Good. But I'm pretty consistently seeing people put him at Lawful Good, which doesn't feel quite right to me.
I dig trunks, and I really enjoy Xeno Trunks. I still don't fully understand the hair color change. Like if there was a reason for it or not.

However, it also reminds me of one of the many things that bothers me about Goku. At no point did Goku ever think to teach Trunks instant transmission so Trunks could find the Namekians and get a new guardian for earth and a new set of DragonBalls while using he Namek's DragonBalls to possibly wish back all the fallen Z Fighters and restore order in his future.....
I mean on the one hand you're right, and wow I never actually thought of that until now, on the other; besides the one week between Perfect Cell forming and the actual Cell Games, when would he have the opportunity to do so?
Because he goes out of commission during the Android 20 fight and doesn't wake up until shortly before 17 fights Piccolo. And the first thing he does after that is take Trunks, Vegeta, and Gohan up to the Lookout and everything that happens after that separates them again. Not saying Trunks might have picked it up during that week but how long did it take Vegeta to actually learn it in the Moro arc, legitimately asking as I didn't read it but know what happened
@@stormhawkdude Future Trunks didn't come for the Moro arc but like Trunks did and presumabely does stop by at times to say hello. He could have learned Instant Transmission then since getting places fast is practically required in his dark future.
@starkiller1289 no I mean Vegeta learned Instant Transmission during the Moro Arc to meet up with Goku and Moro on New Namek, I don't know if we know how long Geets was on Yardrat to know how long it takes to learn I.T.
We know Goku was there for over one Namekian Year because that's how long it was between Namek blowing up and when the technical beginning of the Android Saga with Freeza and King Cold showing up for revenge and they get curb stomped by Trunks, but that's not accounting travel and healing he may have needed once landing on Yardrat after Namek blew up. Did it take months for Goku to learn Instant Transmission or could Trunks have learned it in the 10 days between Cell absorbing 17+18 and the fight at the Cell Games? *That's* my question
@@stormhawkdude That's a good question while we don't know the time frame it takes to learn I.T. we do know that Geets learned Spirit Fission and presumably other soul focused techniques presumably learning I.T. takes about a month. If you can sense energy that's probably half the battle right there since you can't use it under duress it probably requires a clear mind or certain mindset as well.
