14:08 I just realized when Silver threw his ring, he wasn't doing a cool, flashy attack. He was taking Trunks to an alternate time in the future/past, a time where the results of their battle wouldn't have a real consequence on anyone's existence.

I realised something today.
Trunks orginated in a Manga (a Japanese comic) but they went with the Video Game version of him
Silver originated in a Video Game but they went with the Comic version of him

Fun fact: Silver in this video was voiced by Bryce Papenbrook who voices him since 2019 in Team Sonic Racing but he was credited as "Esu Onsti" (a reverse of "It's no use") to not wanting to go through legal troubles with Sega.

Maybe it was the voice direction or change of circumstances (both within the media context and outside of it), but he sounds so much more lively here.
Late but another fun fact: one of the Archie sonic writers disagreed with the result, saying that “the inclusion of the time and chaos emeralds were unfair” and that “trunks could nuke silver from orbit”

If Trunks just found out what Silver was trying to do to fix his time, maybe he’d be a bit sympathetic.
It’s what he did after all.
Maybe he could help rebuild.
There’s also the fact that Silver possesses a Time Stone, it allows its User to utilise and manipulate time in all of its fashions. (Stopping, starting, forwards, Backwards and skipping time). It can do this WITHOUT causing paradoxes (grandfather and the like) (Source: Archie Comics and Sonic CD). Theoretically Silver wouldn’t be able to corrupt any timescrolls at all since any action he does would be considered as “Canon” despite past events denying its existence. He could potentially fuse timescrolls together or even destroy them (each scroll represents a timeline that has split from the main course of what has already happened before, if too many of them appear it would instantly vaporise all of time and space across every timeline in EVERY Universe. So the fewer of them that exist, the better.) So it’s both good and bad for Trunks and the Supreme Kai of Time to know about the Time Stone and the danger it could potentially represent if it got in the wrong hands. It’s like Toki-Toki, but can be actively controlled.
Trunks pulling a gacha in the middle of a fight to the death is the funniest concept I've seen in a long time.

I love how on all the Dragon Ball vids they do they use the VAs from TeamFourStar. These guys are INCREDIBLY talented and deserve recognition for what they do!
TFS is like the second most recognizable voices for these characters.
Honestly I think the only better Trunks voice is the official VA, and even then they’re so close in quality it’s debatable

It's not easy to imagine trunks to lose to a hedgehog.
But this hedgehog has psychokenesis, which can redirect most of trunks' ki attacks.
I think we can all learn a valuable lesson from the past three Dragon Ball deaths:

I mentioned this back on Blue Beetle vs Cable, but as soon as I hear that any character has basically the power of the Speed Force or something similar, I know they get a massive power boost in Death Battle.
technically, it's just death battle not doing their research, DB characters already showed incalculable speed as kid buu's attack engulfed earth faster than kabito kai's IT reappear and both goku and vegeta was able to react to and outrun it. and they try to use the argument of "in DB, you need to be stronger to ignore time ability", wrong, jiren was stated that he surpasses the concept of time, not just time based ability

Which I doubt they could because odds are there is someone out there that read the Super DragonBall Heroes Manga and watched the promotional anime stuff and somehow played the games as well read Archie Sonic and would probably have more info. Personally, I expected a double k.o.
Though they said Silver's speed is incalcuable, so are DB characters when it comes to speed and I'm not talking about Heroes which is...goddamm that's all over the place.
@@Violent_Wolfen there has been no character shown yet with truly incalculable speed in DBZ. Unlike sonic where it's clearly stated. DBZ speed gets calculated again and again something that is not possible with a person who has LITERALLY INFINITE SPEED DUE TO TIME MAKING IT IRRELEVANT THAT IS EVEN FASTER THAN TIME ITSELF.
Double KO wasn't possible frfr because the sheer strength and abilities of both characters someone is gonna die. But more often than not due to silver having counters to literally everything and the power to back it up silver wins

The way the VA for silver yelled chronos control was probably the greatest thing ive heard in term of VAs in DB

Goku Black's Kamehameha, Reverse Flash's "Sorry, was that important?", Vegeta's Final Flash, and Aquaman's final punch vs SpongeBob were also super good moments for the VAs

Honestly I fully expected Silver to lose. Trunks just sounds way cooler and more powerful than Silver, but when the difference is explained it seems pretty understandable why they came to that conclusion.
That's the funny thing about Vs battles
When comparing characters directly, the one character who looks like they would be least likely to win on paper may also be more likely to win (like Cable vs Booster Gold for example)
@@sketchydude8431 yeah. I've come to understand that the first person to go all out is almost always the loser of the fight, since they went all out to beat the other fighter who wasn't.
@Alex sorrow DBS Trunks, and it's no real contest.
The chaos emeralds could maybe destroy a planet, as seen in Sonic Unleashed
Meanwhile, characters like Goku could nearly destroy the universe 7 macrocosm universe just through the Shockwaves of his punches. And Trunks fights opponents far stronger than this, such as Super Saiyan Rose Goku Black in just his super Saiyan 2 form, Or even merged Zamasu, the same Zamasu who could hold his own against a super Saiyan blue Vegito.
He even outclasses him in speed, as while Silver could scale to sonic in his ability to outrun a black hole, Goku's Shockwaves were able to scatter across universe 7 in seconds. And in order to do that, you'd need to be punching way faster than light.
The only thing you could give Silver is his invincible super form, and Chaos Control. But neither actually give him a way to hurt Trunks, plus it's also likely he'd get blitzed before he can use them.

@@sketchydude8431 this was the archie comics where the chaos emeralds work differntly then the games, they do pretty much the same things as the games and then some. archie chaos magic is busted. to an absurd degree. where starting to get a bit of it in the games(sonic frontiers starting this), where sonic made hard light construx to bash the titans with. and this is still minuscule compared to archie

This is my most rewatched Death Battle episode in Season 9 because Silver is my favorite Sonic character and how intense the fight was.
What I still don't understand is, if those walking pin cushions have so much invincible, incalculable power, why do their worlds keep getting destroyed?

Also don't forget the Super forms that Sonic, Shadow, and Silver have used by the chaos emeralds leaving them INVULNERABLE to damage, though they need the rings to keep the form going. So arguably Silver could take a hit Trunks would think he'd dodge and instead deal a lethal blow. And if the form disappeared, Silver would be no worse for wear whereas Dragonball transformations ALWAYS take a form of a physical or mental drain on them.

@HidanVenom Actually, they still take it. Like I stated before, after the cell saga, they learned how to extend the time between when this takes effect. Like in Super, Goku received energy to continue his fights in the tournament of power. Because he couldn't keep on fighting. And when he was brought to nothing and sandwich in his own spirit bomb, it turned him onto ultra instinct. In another time, Goku and Vegeta revisted the cell training to learn to stay in their red and blue god forms.
@@wavemaster4891 but the reason Goku needed energy to recover wasn't simply from using his transformations but the absolute beatdown that Jiren gave him, and then on top of that using an incomplete ultra instinct for the first time. It's all about context. super Saiyan 1, 2 god, blue and ultra instinct have now been "mastered" in the manga but super Saiyan 3 is a form that was never perfected.
The animation was great but the music was something else, so on point
Fun fact, whenever Death Battle gets the original voice actor from the series to voice their character, they usually have a pen name in the credits. Silver's credited as "Esu Onsti" (Spell that backwards...). So if you're wondering why he sounds a lot like Makoto Naegi...

Rewatching and doing my own research I regret my comment. Archie comics have busted characters they too op
Xeno Trunks negs, they downplayed him into an oblivion, the KeySword should have been putting work, and their strength and speed should have been equal, and Trunks technology wouldn’t even be disabled, DB just pulled that out of their ass, and Trunks has summons that are just as strong as Silver.
The fact that Death Battle is actually doing hyper focused characters (instead of folding all versions of a character into one) gives me a lot more hope for Death Battle from now on.

What characters where folded into one? And I just don't like how the take one high end feat and use that when that character has a 100 lower end feats.
Thing is...Xeno Trunks is a folding of all version in a sense which kind of makes it weird they didn't include FighterZ scaling; nor additional statements.

This battle was just awesome. I've never seen Silver Portrayed so cool before. The way he curved the kamehameha Around too attack Trunks From behind was just awesome and turning his "it's no use" Line into A really badass one-liner before he finished Trunks off was just icing on the cake.

The irony of the phrase "it's hard to imagine Trunks losing to anyone," literally the only reason we know about him was because he lost to the androids, and most of the fights in his life he losses a lot- present 17 and 18, perfect cell, goku black etc.
Losing and then asking for help is Trunk's main skill
yeah, idk. Trunks defeated Dabura by himself, with no one to train him. His innate potential seems to be the highest of any dragonball character similar to Frieza or Jiren far surpassing Goku and Vegeta by leaps and bounds. Its just he's in his own time space deailng with his own problems and doesnt exist in a vacuum.
still if they are using the dragonball heroes trunks i dont see how Silver wins this. Super Saiyan God punches destroy the universe, we already saw it happen in the anime which is what Dragonball Heroes is, an anime. So its canon to the anime since it IS an anime and theres no manga to contradict it. This means theres no reason Trunks isnt throwing universe buster blows at silver, and idk much about sonic characters but, I can't imagine them tanking THE END OF THE UNIVERSE punches and mind you, thats the floor of his power level not the ceiling.

@@Kugrox Well it had still been 7 years for trunks when he fought dabura, and even though there was no one to train with him i can't imagine he would stop training all together. Goku did say trunks was super saiyan 2, also he had help from supreme kai. And as far as universe destroying punches, whilst archie comics are wild they did say in the analysis at the end that super sonic could survive omniverse destroying energy, even scaling silver way down it kind of makes sense. 🤷♂

The 6th dimensional comes from the fact that they are at least above the god of chaos force who was above time and thus 5th dimensional in nature and was also completely wiped by said wave

*IDW Sonic (Overseen by Sega but published and written by IDW authors).
The less (strict) creative control Sega has on a Sonic product the more useful the cast become, go figure.
