When vegeta named the 2 wishes in the kid buu fight he never expected to be resurrected himself as he was evil at the time of the tournament, making the deed truly selfless

No, Frieza's purely Chaotic Evil. He believes might makes right, has no regard for life, and is in no way dedicated to his "empire" or his title as "emperor" ouside his own arrogance. Incidentally that describes almost any Demon Lord. That's not to say he can't act out of that alignment, nobody's unmaleable, just that he's pretty consistent in spitting at anyone else's claim to authority unless they can kill him. (And even then he plotted to backstab Beerus or double backstab other foes. He changes sides as is convenient)
@@TheUltimateMachineGod True. If anything each arc has been more characterizing. His decisions to train and even his work while in hell are very characterizing for him. And we know a weird amount about his family.
1 or 2 good actions in the T.O.P as well but at most they'd put him at chaotic neutral, he's still an evil bastard and I love him (no homo)
@@cloudychaos475 Eh, those "good" actions were almost entirely products of selfishness. The Great Sphere D&D cosmology (the only default assumption one can fairly make when doing these things) may not care a lot about intent but it does factor in. For evil more than for good, usually, it seems. (Which incidentally is why there are more evil people than good and probably more neutral people than either.)
At any point Vegeta said -"Because IM FUCKING EVIL", but then evolve to be -"Pure, unadultered Badass", and finally -"I AM THE HYPE"

That Dedoria joke was subtle, but I like it. TFS is hilarious and we will quote whatever they say.
See, I feel like Vegeta asks an interesting question about alignment; do chaotic actions based off of a consistent moral code count as lawful or chaotic?
Vegeta does go back and forth a bit, however his character and actions always center around his pride, if that wasn't obvious. He keeps his word because of pride, he takes revenge because of pride, he teams up with and kills people only dependent on how it affects his motives. Arguably, nothing Vegeta does is really random, it's intentionally performed to better his chances down the road...so idk. I think Vegeta is pretty much Lawful Evil up until the Cell/Buu saga, where he slowly becomes more Lawful Neutral.
The one thing to remember about Chaos vs Order which most people have turned into Chaotic vs Lawful is really Change Vs Stagnation. Pure Order aka a Pure Lawful nature is unchanging unbending, it doesn't allow for growth. A system we generally see as an Orderly/Lawful state is the day night cycle. This though is correct in the cycle doesn't change but there is that hidden element of Chaos/change that allows day to become night and vise versa. There are examples going the other way where seemingly random/chaotic events will always result in the same way because of that orderly/lawful element hidden in the end result that isn't supposed to change. Just look at Main Characters for Shonen Anime/Manga the events and overall story are different for each character but the end result is they are the strongest being of their story and overwhelmingly loved by the world they are in.
In short you shouldn't look at the end result as much as if the Chaotic aspect is the hidden or main aspect of the action.
I think fundementally changing his moral code, or changing his opinions fundementally is a "chaotic" catagory. Part of what chaotic symbolizes is "unexpected, wild, selfish, change "
So given that he started in chaotic neutral, I think this is perfectly fine
Nice vid. Although a small mistake on 17:00. Vegeta HAD the ability to become SSJ2. But even that wasn't enough to compete with the level of Gokus SSJ2. That was verified by guides and also the fact that Vegeta was 100% confident he could defeat Dabura when SSJ2 Gohan couldn't.
Also going by story, Vegeta didn't accept Babidis amp/mind control fully. It was mostly an excuse to go wild and disregard everything so he could have 1 final good match with Goku. The whole thing was a mid-life crisis from our guy Vegeta.

I loved the DBZA references throughout the video. Fantastically done. Didn't overplay them at all and was able to throw one out when least expected. And yes, thanks to DBZA, I will forever think of Dodoria as a girl.

Pre watching prediction time! I think he's gonna start out as lawful or neutral evil, by the end of the Freeza saga and during the Cell saga, he's gonna be a chaotic neutral, and by the time Buu is over with, he'll be chaotic good.

When he was revived after Namek he felt no remorse for his actions but he specifically asked for the lives to be spared from the day of the tournament. He killed thousands and that for once rested on his conscience

Dbs may shift him a bit away from chaotic evil. He was a team player and helps save their universe. He is still not a good guy but he may qualify as lawful evil instead. I mean he does run a huge space empire and usually only kills for failures or practicality. So maybe he could even start off as lawful evil.
@@jaketheberge1970 I feel like it depends. Remember freeza is only a team player for 3 reasons
1: because if they lose their all dead [neutral or lawful neutral]
2: he wants to be brought back to life [chaotic neutral]
3: to eradicate the gods/become stronger than them [chaotic evil]
2 are chaotic and 2 are neutral so at best him being a team player is chaotic neutral. I admit I haven't watched all of super (I just keep putting it off for really no reason) but overall I don't see the tournament of power would give him a significant change just for being a team player. Heck he literally beats people with an inch of their life saying "their still alive when I push them off and I'm not responsible for them dying outside of battle" yeah he's a "team player" but only as much as he needs to be. Even helping Gohan, had gohan not caught on freeza would totally send him over the edge

It takes place after the TOP. Frieza is portrayed differently than in the past. He seems to have grown somewhat. He looks past the fact tha Broly is a Saiyan (a race he has had a near racist hatred for to the point of genocide) and recognizes his potential instead of just killing him. Compared to DBZ Frieza who treated Vegeta and his crew like lower lifeforms, just more canon fodder for his army. Also in Broly he treats his minions with much more restraint. At one point he is made fun of by one of his crew and he shrugs it off. He also seems to have changed his view on immortality after his time in hell (I think he said that after his time there immortality no longer holds any appeal). Instead of wanting to butcher an entire race just to live forever all he seems to want now is to wish to be taller. He does murder someone as "motivation" but you know baby steps.

Frieza is more of a NE character, Cold and Cooler are Lawful Evil
Frieza's pretty much going to be super Neutral Evil since he keeps flip-flopping between lawful and chaotic actions throughout his screentime.
This video just reminded me why Vegeta my absolute favorite character in Dragonball and why he desperately needs the spotlight

i mean spoilers..... but not really because the manga is the only dragon ball stuff we are getting for a looooong time so not really spoilers but spoilers because its not animated yet...... but yes it does wonders for him. he is going to become g.o.d vegeta and im thinking purple hair vegeta will just look really nice. but yes he is atoning for his race and is going to become the best person he could be while also growing in power way more then anyone can be even if the baddy is way stronger (for now) ALSO THE FACT HE CAN USE HAKAI WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING WHAT IT IS IS BULLSHIT. his wish was to make him as strong as he could grow by condensing his years of life down, aka he abused the fast forward button from the movie click. and that is how strong he would have been if he lived his whole life PERFECTLY so how in the fuck did he get hakai? the wish didnt grant him the skills he could have learned or else he would also know perfect ui and kioken and kamehameha and galick gun and final flash and spirit bomb and kai kai and instant movement and how to heal people and how to use god ki and solar flare and EVERY SKILL WE EVER SEE IN DRAGON BALL EVER, do you see why the fact he uses hakai is bullshit yet? there is NO REASON for him to be able to use that and at that level, but lets say the wish dragon gave him a little bonus for no reason HE STILL SHOULDNT BE ABLE TO DO THAT WITHOUT KNOWING EVERY OTHER SKILL EVER. meaning granola or cereal or whatever the fuck his name is IS MORE OF A SELL OUT THEN EVEN CELL. everyone keeps going on and on about how cool he is, future trunks is cooler for being a cool swordsman, frieza is a cooler villain then him, hell even zamasu used the dragon balls to become stronger better then he did (wishing to be immortal is by definition way better then simply wishing for all your years of life away for strength because if your immortal you an spend forever training to get stronger rather then being stronger and then dying almost right after.... HE EVEN KNOWS THAT HE COULD WISH TO BE IMMORTAL AND THEN DO THIS WISH AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN INFINITELY BETTER THEN WASTING HIS LIFE. he is stupid for making that wish, because the effects of that wish would have been multiplied infinitely by wishing to be immortal FIRST (the wish was trade all the years of your life for power so if you have ALL of the years then you can just grow FOREVER) this guy is so stupid in my eyes and i hate everything about him but his looks

So, if we ever do other DB characters...I'd personally like to see one on the Androids. 17 specifically, though 18 and 16 are also perfectly valid.
17 would probably be neutral evil, then neutral, then lawful neutral.
Depends which timeline, there basically completely people in the different timelines.
@@brandonlyon730 The Future Androids would both be purely Chaotic Evil. There's not much deviation from that with them, as even on those occasions that they allowed Gohan & Trunks to escape, they did so more because it meant they could have more "fun" fighting them later than out of any sense of compassion, mercy, or altruism.
But, with the "present" androids, I would actually argue that they would both start off as True Neutral with a heavy leaning towards Chaotic Neutral, as the *only* reason they are even after Goku in the first place is because they were *programmed* to hunt him down and kill him (which, in a sense, could be seen or treated as a form of brainwashing), so it's something they have very little control over. But other than that, all three of them are relatively chill and laid-back, and they don't really engage in wanton slaughter and destruction (a great example of this would be 17's reaction to Imperfect Cell blasting a hole through Piccolo's chest, he's outraged and disgusted by that action, which is a strong indication of 17's strong moral compass).
Even 16 would probably start off as Lawful Neutral, as he's initially just a machine bound by his programming, only for him to later be freed from that programming by Bulma, at which point he would be closer to being Lawful Good considering his willingness to sacrifice himself to both give Gohan the push he needed to achieve Super Saiyan 2 and to protect the Earth.
17 & 18 would probably be True Neutral leaning towards Chaotic Neutral considering the fact that their very first action upon being activated by Gero was to kill him and destroy the remote that could de-activate them (a Chaotic and potentially Good act). Plus, even once the Androids got the better of the Z Fighters in battle and had ample opportunity to just kill them all, they chose *not* to do so and just let them be (albeit with Vegeta having suffered a broken arm and Trunks having lost his sword)....not to mention 18 then going on to kiss Krillin on the cheek before she left, all because they had no real quarrel with the Z Fighters as a whole.
Plus, when Piccolo (after fusing with Kami) later confronts 17, the Androids keep their word about 16 & 18 not interfering, and 17 even offers Piccolo a chance to leave without a fight.
And then after the Cell saga is over, 17 of course is not shown again until Super, but I would argue that as of the Buu saga 18 would now be either Chaotic Neutral with a strong lean towards Chaotic Good or just outright Chaotic Good, as despite her desire for money, she is still a loving wife to Krillin and an equally loving mother to Marron. So even her desire for wealth could still be seen as 18 simply wanting to ensure that her family would be well cared and provided for.

I think looking at your past actions and quantifying them as good or bad is very fun way of deciding future actions and makes you seem like a much more consistent character. I tried to use the way you look at Alignment to quantify my characters

Vegeta is a fascinating character becuase throughout the entirety of dragon ball z, he is never a good person until the very end when vegeta realizes his pride is what caused him nearly all of his problems, however, what is even more fascinating, is that his weakness, that pride, also was the drive that gave him the greatest forms of growth as a person that he though he wanted to be, in the namek saga, how vegetas first act of good in the series is begging goku to take down frieza, not only for himself, but for the entire saiyan race, i declared this a lawful good action because this is the first time in his life that vegeta isnt just speaking for himself but for the heritage of his people, vegeta is a character thats takes alot of pride in his title as prince, but he wears it as a symbol of superiority and not his responsibility, have you noticed that the closer vegeta is to death, the better a person he becomes, when frieza killed him, he begged for closure for his people, when cell slapped him, he apologized to gohan by name, and when majin buu was attacking, he overcame literal magical brainwashing to defend his home, now this isnt to say that vegeta would've become good on his own, the saiyans as a culture were mostly chaotic evil, in their history they were notorious for subjagating and exterminating other civilizations, however when presented with a greater threat and a greater tyrant than even his own father, vegeta as the leader of this evil group of people, gained something that saiyans desperately needed "perspective" thanks to vegetas life of growing up as a slave, he understood the subjugation that his people started forcing unto others, and it turned him into a cold, bitter, prideful person, who could only feel good when he was imposing his strength on others, its the classic bully syndrom, many times these classic bullies have immense confidence in themselves, but only when they can belittle others, but, there is a good chance that the environment they grew up in, forged their perception on relationships, this is pretty tragically common actually, toxic people growing up in abusive situations will oftenly sabotage perfectly healthy relationships, like vegeta did because they're scared of the calm that they're finding, while vegetas motivation to betray his family was more for physical fitness, i guess, its kind of scary how realistic and how long his transformation into a good person took, even during that time after cell, vegeta isnt good, he was just complacent, vegetas growth as a person was the most natural and i would argue toriyamas greatest achievement as a writer
Your choice, but I personally think GT Vegeta would be more interesting to cover. His growth is far more exact to how it should be, instead of a reversion to constantly saying he needs to beat Goku, and him being needlessly over confident. Which, while is Vegeta normally, he also doesn't seem to get that he's outmatched. A lesson he learned and put forth in the Buu Saga, except for his outbursts towards Buuhan.
Meanwhile, GT Vegeta typically understands his situations and fights for what he realistically should in that line of events. His family and Earth, not the sake of proving he's the best, but aiming to better himself.
I love how the slip about Dadoria absolutely came from watching dbz abridged.

The biggest problem with Vegeta's sacrifice play is that he did it in such a big AOE. This spread the damage in all the wrong directions. If it had been a beam, or even just a front cone, it might have actually worked.
Also he died because he fed his life force into the blast. Like Tien did against Semi-perfect Cell, or Roshi does later in Super.

This is an amazing concept! You should do more characters, like Goku. I want to say I think this ranking is a bit off though, since you're weighing every act the same. Vegeta massacring a town moves him just as move as him saying something nice to Krillin.
God trying to figure out character actions in long fights can be hard in my own time I've tried to map out the Inuyasha and Yuri of the hair fight and the first Inuyasha and Sesshomaru fight,
long anime are my death knell...I love DBZ and this was hard
@@TheLoadingCrew I think I've messed with Inuyasha up to episode six of seven, My main focus was Yashahime because it was new and the main characters where interesting, I was doing episodes as they came out but I stopped at episode 14 and now that season one is done, I'm going to finish. I stopped because I decided I didn't want to keep doing one episode week and to break, just enjoy the show and do work on other things with out interruption. But yeah I currently have it mapped out in a google doc.
I feel like if Vegeta showed up more in GT, he’d have gotten more fleshed out as a Chaotic Good ally. What we got was great though, even the mustache.

It's the same story but... with some "changes" that, I think make the story more streamlime and sensible.

Look the term “CHAOTIC STUPID” seems to fit Vegeta in the Cell and Buu sagas. He eventually comes to terms with his situation and then the Super series begins almost right after the end of Buu, he overall is a better person than he was but he still has his mean streak.
Great video! However one misnomer is the part where you said Vegeta becomes Majin and unlocks Super Saiyan 2, that is falls. Vegeta already had Super Saiyan 2 by the time Babadi used his magic too boost Vegeta's power to level where he was equal to Goku's power, nothing more.
One thing - Babidi's spell didn't grant Vegeta SSj2, it just gave him a boost in power that put him on par with Goku. Previously he was inferior in equivalent forms.
For the part where you showed a clip and said that it is subjective (obviously), you missed a PERFECT opportunity for a "B*tch, I'm adorable" moment form DBZ Abridged.

Its canon that at the end of Z, during the final fight with Pure Kid Buu, Vegeta made a wish that only revives "Good" people, which is why even Goku is shocked that Vegeta was brought back to life, thus meaning he changed alignment over the course of the series, obviously. But what this also implies is that, every criminal or evil person who truly committed acts of wrongdoing and enjoyed doing so, are now dead and have remained dead. Every thief, murderer, stalker, rapist, serial killer, every person in every prison that wasn't wrongfully incriminated, are dead and have remained dead ever since. That basically means..... Alright, I'm gonna be THAT guy. TECHNICALLY Freiza is monochromatic not bi-chromatic. White isn't a color and is just a brighter "shade" of purple, his other color. Great video man, keep it up, liked for the Frieza video. With any luck it will be as challenging to write as the Dio video :)

I’m gonna clarify a couple bits of misinformation in this video.
• Vegeta didn’t really “turn the tides” for the good guys by attacking Cell. More accurately, he enabled Gohan to turn the tides.
• Kid Boo, at least within the anime continuities, is not only not the weakest form of Boo, but the strongest. This was confirmed across multiple statements made by Goku and the narrator. Goku and Vegeta simply got a plot-convenient power boost that could potentially rival metamoran fusion at this point.
• Vegeta’s “you are number one” speech isn’t him recognizing that Goku “will always be the better fighter”, it’s him acknowledging that what’s put Goku ahead of him for so long. It’s not “I understand that you’ll always be better than me”, it’s “I understand why you’ve always been ahead of me, and right now you’re the only one that’s strong enough to defeat Boo.” That’s why Vegeta says he’s number one, because not even Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks or Ultimate Gohan were on Goku’s level at that point.

Fun fact: Vegeta's SSJ2 is NOT first achieved due to the power up from Babidi's control, but due to his previous training in the 7 year time skip. The power up was just high enough to be stronger than a full power Gohan SSJ2 (from Cell Saga), I think.

I think vegeta should get one extra ding for his self sacrifice because he knew when he did it, that he would go to hell. To me this makes his sacrifice so much more impactful than any time goku does it. For goku, dying is like “oh you mean I get to train without having to be a father? Cool!”. For vegeta it’s “I’m probably going to suffer immensely and may never get brought back but I’ll do this anyway

I originally didn't think that I would want the kind of material for Pathfinder such as Dragonball races, but after getting and reading both products, turns out that I was wrong and I did.
Something else that you might find interesting is that there is also a fan-made companion guide that converts all of the races and Jobs from FF XIV (minus the Reaper & Sage) into a D&D 5e format. It's not that hard to find either. The Dark Knight for instance can function (based on the chosen subclass) as either a Tank (Blackblood), melee magic-user (Abyss Knight), or something closer to a traditional mage (Dark Magus)....albeit one that can still hold their own in melee combat and can wear armor without fear of hindering their supernatural abilities. They also gain some handy abilities like The Blackest Night (by spending one Hit Die, you or one other creature within 30 ft. of you gains temporary HP equal to d10 + your Charisma modifier), Souleater (once per turn life drain from a melee attack), and Quietus (make a melee attack against all creatures within 10 ft. of you, and you can optionally spend one Hit Die and roll it to deal that much additional damage as Necrotic damage).

Instead of Chaotic Neutral I would've gone with Lawfull Evil in most of the cases before the end of Namek. He is Lawfull (Heratige, Race) and his upbrining and reasoning is primarily Evil, but still logical and lawfull in his mind).
