I guess if we dwelved more in the intention we could turn it Chaotic, cause if he specifically kidnaps Gohan cause he is Goku's son, that makes it Chaotic, but he seemingly does so only because Gohan is strong, possibly stronger than him from his point of view, so putting him on his side makes this Neutral.
yeah, there's nothign "neutral" about kidnapping a child. If it's done on a whim, then its chaotic evil. If its part of a larger plan, its lawful evil.
It’s honestly funny how TFS managed to start Piccolo’s evil stuff as a joke, but then turned it into a version of the character I actually prefer to the real series. Like adding Nail and Kami to his inner monologue, then also focusing more on the idea he’s protecting his friends after being a total loner for years are both really fun changes. Like he still clearly wants to be cold to everyone but he falls into the trope of “the loner realizes he’s not alone anymore.”
Piccolo is Piccolo Jr. the son of Demon King Piccolo. He's born of the egg Picollo senior ejected when Goku killed him. Which happened in on May 9th 753. Raditz arrive on Earth in 761. So yeah I can't find the month when Raditz arrived, but Piccolo Junior would be 7 or 8
This is why I've argued for years that the "Piccolo is Gohan's real dad" meme is dumb. The reality is that Piccolo is Gohan's tough love older brother. Absolutely willing to trash on the kid, but it's all to make sure he can hold his own and stand up for himself. Even steps in when the big bad Saiyan bullies are throwin' hands at him.
God, Piccolo is just one of their best. He's a snarky, grounded asshole who is quick to call out everyone on their bullshit and is just a solid guy. Also, having Kami and Nail in his head to talk to made for some absolutely - and literally - rib-breaking comedy that got me through some of my darkest days back in college. No joke, I actually had to have x-rays when I was attending university because I was laughing when I had hairline fractures in four of my ribs that I didn't know about that I got from a sparring match. I later laughed so hard from watching DBZA in my apartment that that it caused two of those four hairline fractures to result in a complete break. My misadventures aside, Piccolo's personality in DBZA was easily my favorite, just edging out Tien and Mister Perfect Cell.
The Deadzone Movie does break canon a tiny bit. In Episode 1 of DBZ people are suprised to learn that Goku has a son. However if Deadzone was canon, they would already know that.

@@Netherwolf6100 I don't think it can really be explained biologically since he's something between a reincarnation of Piccolo Daimao and his son, he has all of Daimao's memories and shares a soul with Kami and is definitely something unique among Namekians (given he went from a baby to fully matured in the three years between Daimao's death and the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai while Dende was still a child after the three years between Frieza and Cell) even though he is still his own person with a distinct personality and beliefs

I'm surprised you're doing a video on DBZA piccolo but not including Nail. Ignoring Nail from before they fused is alright, but after they fused Nail is a part of Piccolo's psyche so his commentary directly affects Piccolo's motivations

I had something of a mandela effect with Piccolo, I could've sworn in the latam Spanish dub piccolo was like "and after we fight the saiyans I'll maake his son evil and we'll conquer the world" and how do i know this isn't just dbza's fault? Well, when I watched dbza for the first time back in the day I thought "oh they mostly just did the same as the show except he doesn't know about Saiyans", but (as far as I'm aware) that actually never happened

Piccolo Jr is my favorite character, both in the main canon and in DBZA, and I honestly love his growth in both to become one of the most solid members of the Z Fighters as both a fighter and just a good guy. In DBZA it helps that he consistently got some of the funniest running gags or other jokes. Nail and Kami will forever just be awesome, and Dodge was so good that they made two shirts out of it (With Piccolo's long overdue special transformation being one) but made a great song parody XD

I once remade Chiaotzu in Pathfinder as an Arcanist Halfling (with Boots of Levitation so he could just float up into the air, complete with the racial trait that made them look like a china doll). It was hilarious, as the rest of the group kept having trouble fighting in melee, so I would float outside of melee and just bombard the enemies with energy attacks. I even convinced the DM to let me use "Final Sacrifice" (an ability from the Summoner class, that lets you blow up their Eidolon/summon for AoE damage). And, just like in the anime, I used it on the BBEG, only for them to survive XD
I really liked Piccolo in the later arcs of DBZA but I am a little surprised Krillin wasn't here before the green slug man thay may actually be a demon again according to Daima.
I've always had an odd kinship with Piccolo in DBZ originally. Had a cool design and outfits with a personality that I tend to get attract to. DBZA Piccolo I just love wholesale and have wondered how the hell they written him so well and how they went about his personality and relationships in the series.

Because if he's gonna like improve society and make the world a better place than I wouldn't call it new neutral evil, maybe chaotic Neutral. But again, that's only if you want to try to argue it. I'm not Sure about what Piccolo's ten step plan would be when he took over the world.
It's almost like Nail and Kami lied to Piccolo. Once we get to Majin Buu arc, Picvolo's personality is almost entirely gone and he's acting more like an ex-Kami than anything else.
You could argue that taking Gohan is more lawful evil. He's not a normal Namek he's a mutant, probably sterile, programmed to hate Goku and take over the world. He is just defaulting to his programming and ensuring the Piccolo Daimao dynasty continues through Gohan. That also assumes he does not understand human lifespans.
I'm saying this not out of malice, but out of wanting to spread the correct information. The Dead Zone movie can't happen for one main reason: the gang knows about Gohan's existence thanks to the events of the movie. In the series proper, they all are shocked that Goku had a kid right before Raditz arrives. Because the Dead Zone movie revolves around saving Gohan from Garlic Jr. and because Goku tells his friends that he needs to rescue his son, this means that they shouldn't be surprised when he shows up to Kame House with Gohan. Also, I'm pretty sure that Dead Zone happens less than a year before Raditz shows up, meaning that the balls would be inactive. It's possible that I remember that incorrectly, but I'm 90% that I'm right on this.
I would debate sacrificing himself for Gohan is chaotic neutral... Or at the very least, warrants further discussion. Piccolo really sacrificed the Dragon Balls here because he didn't want Gohan dying, but literally all that dying would do is stop Gohan from training with King Kai. I'm willing to forgive Piccolo for this because this is arguably King Kai's fault entirely for not being a better communicator, despite his telepathy. Here is another push up but I am willing to accept a video of you "Dodging!!!" For each new sub even if that would hardly help with your goal of being more healthy by the end of the year. Also I doubt your lovely friends and family would try to hit you with a dakimakura while shouting you to dodge.
I'd wager true neutral. His only motivation nowadays is to just mediate. Before that it was to just avenge his father, no real end goal beyond that. He's definitely not a good guy either, he allowed the entire Earth population to be sacrificed as a plaything for Buu to buy some time. Yes, they can wish them back. Death is still very traumatic in my book. No real alignment or allegiance, no real motivation. He's just living his life being an uncle. He's not against doing immoral deeds either. He stands on the good guy side mostly because the implications of them losing is far worse than just being neutral and idle, so it's more like he's contributing for his interests mostly.
No dings for leaking the info about the Dragon Balls to the Saiyans? Really? I'd argue that's a much bigger fuck-up than anything Goku ever did in Z...
Piccolo: Kills Gohan's dad, leaks info about the Dragon Balls to the Saiyans for no reason, sacrifices himself for no reason (Gohan could have been brought back), wishes to be brought to Namek for no reason (would have died without Goku), does not take responsibility for any of this and just waits for Goku to clean up the messes he caused, fandom treats him like a supergenius who can do no wrong. Goku: Gave a villain a senzu bean (even though he was clearly acting with a plan through that entire arc), fandom treats him like the devil.
Did Piccolo actually know Gohan had a mother? Consider that he never met a parent, would have hatched alone and if memory serves Namekians reproduce asexually so even if he did have recollection of the person who gave birth to him it would have been his father so having killed Goku he would likely believe Gohan had no-one else.

I'd wager true neutral. His only motivation nowadays is to just mediate. Before that it was to just avenge his father, no real end goal beyond that. He's definitely not a good guy either, he allowed the entire Earth population to be sacrificed as a plaything for Buu to buy some time. Yes, they can wish them back. Death is still very traumatic in my book.
No real alignment or allegiance, no real motivation. He's just living his life being an uncle. He's not against doing immoral deeds either. He stands on the good guy side mostly because the implications of them losing is far worse than just being neutral and idle, so it's more like he's contributing for his interests mostly.

Piccolo: Kills Gohan's dad, leaks info about the Dragon Balls to the Saiyans for no reason, sacrifices himself for no reason (Gohan could have been brought back), wishes to be brought to Namek for no reason (would have died without Goku), does not take responsibility for any of this and just waits for Goku to clean up the messes he caused, fandom treats him like a supergenius who can do no wrong.
Goku: Gave a villain a senzu bean (even though he was clearly acting with a plan through that entire arc), fandom treats him like the devil.

Consider that he never met a parent, would have hatched alone and if memory serves Namekians reproduce asexually so even if he did have recollection of the person who gave birth to him it would have been his father so having killed Goku he would likely believe Gohan had no-one else.
