      Investigating who left the most recent sea men stains on the bathroom floor is still "investigations" so... I have no problem with you insinuating that you work in law enforcement. Since real law enforcement don't do stupid things like insinuate to strangers what they do to passively get some of that sweet internet clout, they are underrepresented on youtube. So a fake guy living out some at-home Steven Segal-style LE career is fine with me son. Keep phishing for those compliments son, at least half the people who read dumb assed attempts like yours aren't aware that's what you're really doing.

    As a retired worker for the Veteran's Admin. medical services. In the process of signing up Vets for services I was able to view a lot of DD-214's. What I learned from a lot of Vets is that most of the real heroes didn't brag about their service or accomplishments. Most often I learned about their accomplishments from viewing their DD-214's. When I was able to get to know a Vet, usually after a couple of years, then MAYBE they would open up to me. Most Vets were very leery of the gvt -- and for good reason.

I thought it was funny when that man said he was dumped into Cambodia that early in the war. The North started using Cambodia latter to escape being bombed because the Ho Chis Ming trail was bombed so heavy the North found it safer to divert into Cambodia. I knew only one man where i live started doing the navy seal thing until he got called out. I guess he forgot our little talk about the service in 1975. Letters from his buddies (witnesses, commanders, or his personal records would have sufficed to replace any records lost in that fire as far as claiming benefits. I told him that I want to join the USMC and being told by a Devil Dog that I would "fit right in" was amazing. He knows me very well so it was a huge compliment.
    Now I just have to figure out the logistics and get myself to Alabama. I have been looking forward to staying with him and his family because they are just great people. My mom and dad had a cabin on a little lake back in the woods of upper Michigan. I drove up to spend a couple days with them. While up there my mother asked me what I did in Vietnam. She said I have never talked about it. I told her I was proud to have worn the uniform and that Vietnam was an absolute mistake, I said nothing more. Both my parents have passed on and no longer here to talk too. I wish I had told them what I went through. I was Army 11B infantry. We kicked the NVA out of the city of Kontum in 2/68 4th infantry. Fought them again at a place called Chu Moore Mt. 4/68. I should have told them and today I wish I had.

      @@TheGeonammaybe you should have and then again brother, maybe you shouldn't have! It might have absolutely broke their hearts if they would have known what all you had to do and everything you seen with your eyes! Vietnam was a very messed up and disturbing war! My dad served four tours and the little bit he has willingly told me, besides the running from the mps while at the cat house stories, bit the other side is very disturbing. You are always a baby in your parents eyes and I actually commend you for not telling them because no parent would ever want to know their child had done this or seen this. Yes, maybe by telling them, they would know why you feel act or changed, bit on the other hand some things are better left unsaid. The main thing is that you made it home and got to spend the rest of their life with them! Take this for what's it's worth brother, but I think you did right by them by not telling them the things you did, things you seen and the things you heard were happening!!!! Glad you are still here brother!!!

      My future father survived six months of front line combat in Europe. The only story he ever told was the time during the Louisiana Manoevers tank training that his group got bypassed and had nothing to eat except the ground-warm watermelons growing all around them. Many years later he made a video tape for some organization collecting vet's WW II stories and still barely mentioned the death and destruction all around him. He just wanted to get on with life with a capitol L.

    It’s always about them being a SEAL, Ranger, or TACP/JTAC. They never talk about having boring jobs like mine. I was a nerd that the Air Force kept in a backshop rebuilding electronics. I had a blast, and I only had to pick up a rifle twice to qualify.

      I didn't completely understand what frequent flyers are as far as law enforcement is concerned. I assume it was people making false complaints, but I don't get why. Most people call police as a last resort.

    • @georgegrant6600
      @georgegrant6600 8 месяцев назад

      @@qua7771They're people that have the police called because of them. For instance, shoplifters. In my retail grocery career, we would catch people shoplifting. We would call the cops, have the shoplifter sign a ban/bar statement, the cops would issue them a ticket, and advise them that if they returned to the property, they could be arrested for criminal trespass. For some dirtbags, this was not a deterrent. We would catch them again shoplifting. On the third time, it was a felony (Nebraska). Some refer to them as "frequent flyers" because they were constantly in trouble with the law. Although, we never referred to them as such.

      @@georgegrant6600 Thanks for the explanation. By what the original commenter said, I though he meant pranksters causing delays, not actual criminals. Of course criminals take up LEO's time. Isn't that the whole purpose of police work?
      Anyway, I think it stands to reason that someone low in morality would repeat offenses until they get hard time.

I love the Military and signed up for the Iowa Army National guard as soon as I turned 17. Went to Ft. Benning in the Summer of 1987 between my junior and senior year in high school. Went into the Marines after high school. I was in 1988- 1993. I was part of the 26th MEU. I loved every minute of it. I lost my best friend in the 2004. He was a Seabee and was killed by a mortar attack. This really pisses me off. Keep up the good work Senior Chief!
