I am a former Marine who served in Vietnam. I am also retired, CIA. I remember once in South Florida, a young kid claiming he was Marine asked me about my USMC vet hat. He wanted to know what I did in the Marines. When I told him I was in the Air Wing, he said, "You mean Air Force." No USMC Air Wing. He said "the Marines do not have an Air wing. He then accused me of Stolen Valor. I just finally walked away, shaking my head. I never knew if he was a very uniformed/stupid Marine or was stealing valor.
I thought we all knew about the Air Wingers. I'm guessing stolen Valor. Or his GT score on his ASVAB was 1

Before I enlisted in the Airforce I couldn’t even realize anything in the uniform I even question myself on how military people could see the difference on the uniform. Now that I’m an Airman it’s crazy to know how silly this people are and the level of disrespect on their uniform

Company Commander wouldn't let you mix Army and Civi though. AR670-1 says you can wear the PT jacket, the fleece jacket, and the PT hat with civies but our Commander didn't allow it

I have a deep respect for anyone serving in the special forces. It takes a very special commitment to train either as a seal, or a army ranger. I would be upset with people who claim to be an elite fighting force, and they turn out to be liars.
I just wanted to pay my respects to all the military veterans and the ones that are currently serving and those that gave their life serving this country you deserve much more respect and much more love.
Thank you for serving your country in allowing me to live a very comfortable humble life.

Both of my parents served in Canada. Air Force and Military. My father was gone for 6-8 months out of a year when I was growing up. It was hard as a kid moving around Ontario with basically a ssingle mother. We have a wonderful relationship now though. It's sad to think that someone would want to emulate my father, who worked so hard and sacrificed so much for his family. It hurt him to be away from the family overseas and it was rough for all of us.
Today, as I have always been, am so proud of both of my retired parents. . . I dunno, I just shake my head and feel pity for these stolen valor people.

It's awesome to me how real soldiers can pin-point the smallest mistakes with the uniform.
They seem small, but they're all mistakes any NCO can spot them from 30 feet away without any effort, outside with no PC/Cover you're gettin chewed out, Blue Cord with no Blue discs? Marine badges on army uniforms? You can't not notice once you've been in, it just screams at you lol

It’s basically because everything is so exact that it makes it easy to spot something wrong. Also what really blows my mind is how all these fakes don’t even take the time to look up how to wear the ACU on Wikipedia. Like, it’s all there and yet they still manage to mess it up. Probably the most cringe worthy thing I’ve ever seen in real life was on 4th of July when I saw a guy wearing a combat shirt with a ranger tab with blue jeans. I asked him if he served and he said he’s still in and so I mentioned how weird it is to see someone wearing an ACS in public and he said “nah man this isn’t ACS this is MULTICAM” and when I told him it wasn’t he was like “dude you wouldn’t understand you’re not special forces” and then everything went downhill from there.
They get taught discipline and ti study all of those small things. If these dopes were in the military they would of been receiving a worse punishment then being video taped

I remember serving in the Koprulu Sector against the Zerg Swarm for 2 tours, one in New Gettysburg and one in Chau Sara before the planet was destroyed by the Protoss auxiliary forces. It's been hard since discharge. Sometimes when I ride my vulture bike and I can still hear the spidermines... I shutter every time.

I was in jail with Veterans in a section of the jail for former service people. It was crowded and they are so prideful and the double standard of their criticism towards others and themselves was ridiculous. They acted like their crap didnt stink and all of them were there because of other peoples actions and falsly accused. They acted so above everyone else and most were violent woman beaters and rapists yet still made fun of everyone else for thier charges. Its crazy how overly prideful the military is and how getting a paycheck, benefits, and care for life for doing your job isnt enough. They need so much extra and they are always babies that are unhinged and blame their combat for their problems and emptional insecurities. The culture is toxic and the cool ones are high up and are not boastful and dont care to be praised as its embarrassing to them because they did/do what anyone would do in the situation, whats right and dont need special praise for doing whats right.

Not always the case. I've been out 22 years this March. I have my DD-214 stashed away, don't carry it on me, and I've never once use the VA system simply because especially these days... I don't want to die :-) if my name, rank, service number, and Mos isn't enough for you... Well piss off

I'm not a veteran but my grandad served in the army just before the Korean War ended. He didn't do too much as the war nearly was over, but he got frost bitten in his feet. My grandma still have his dog tags. Btw, they phony at the last one was so dumb because respectful Marines don't cuss like that to civilians who want to know their service...I got dying laughing.

I think those military surplus stores should have a sort of system where if you buy a military uniform whether or not it's retired and no longer in service your name should be registered under that uniform that you buy so that people know that this is a possible person that may commit an act of stolen valor and that person should be punished and should be put in prison for fifteen years for something like that it should be a very harsh punishment.
Oh man, I didn’t know this was going on. I hope all the men and women that I’ve gone up to and thanked them for their service were true military . And teaching my son to praise and respect our military personnel. He sees me every time I see a service person I thank them and I get choked up and teary eyed because these BRAVE and AMAZING people let us go to sleep at night and not even a tiny bit of worry and that my family and I are safe living in this beautiful country. So to all the military men and women I praise you and thank you with all my heart. And I am so so sorry if I thanked a “Stolen Valor” imposter thinking they were REAL military. I’m sorry I gave them that heart felt warmth and the tear that comes into your eye when you shake that military persons hand and say “ thank you for your service and stay safe, thank you again”

I actually tought that to be a good idea till i dug deeper into the dog. See, some of the k9 doggos are trained to parachute with their operator, which would surely work better with a smaller breed than a malinois/shepperd in that regard but since the doggo was not a terrier or spaniel but a champagne purse, well...
