I was in the USAF from 1965/69. I was an air traffic controller. I spent 1 year in Ubon, Thailand, Feb 67 to Feb 68. I was discharged at Bergstrom AFB, in July 69 as an E-5. I was very proud to be promoted in Jan 69 to E-5, 3.5 years. I was never exposed to combat, thank God. I have much respect for those who did. I am very proud of my DD-214 and my service. I would do it all again.
I’m a 23 year old that works in the parts department of a car dealership and never have been in the military but I genuinely enjoy watching your videos and appreciate all the work you have done for the SEAL community by exposing these liars. Thank you Sir.
Retired Master Chief stewburner here...I know for a fact that if you were cook on a buoy tender, your ship was one foot inside the "combat zone" when you were awarded a Navy Achievement Medal...it came with a "Combat V." I got a NAM, with the V, and I was never in combat. My ship never spent one minute on a non-drill General Quarters. THE COMBAT V IS A GEDUNK AWARD FOR MOST OF THE PEOPLE THAT GOT THEM! I got two NAMs and a NCM, both for units of Operation Market Time, both plowing donuts off the coast of the former South Vietnam. That V was gedunk! I know...I have three of them! Retired for service from June 1963 to March 1986, six different ships! I have a chest full of gedunk medals and ribbons, and I never stared down the barrel of a weapon of any kind! ...except as part of a drill of some kind.

I'm thoroughly convinced at this point that every time Don Shipley exposes a phony Navy SEAL he grows another hair follicle and that's why his hair is so thick.
That hairline doesnt recede. EVER! It's gone ROGUE! When Don is asleep its said that every so often you can hear a follicle shout "Let's take that brow ridge, gentlemen!"
He's been running that sht for 50 years. He's addicted to the rush he gets seeing peoples' eyes light up. I was a teenager when Nam ended, my brother spent about 3 years over there from re-upping, lots of guys were coming back at that time, he couldn't believe how many guys were telling bullsht stories over here. Faking Valor is pretty common
I appreciate what you do. I served in the 27th AIRBORNE. I was an equipment operator from 1983 to 1987. I never served in combat. The closest we came, was 1984 and 1986 Honduras. It never happened, but we stood ready. I am proud of my service, and feel no need to embellish my experience.
You are a Cold War Veteran. You were likely unaware we were a button push away from NBC fallout. You are a war Vet, you just didn't shoot a weapon at the enemy
He was already a Vietnam Vet - rose to the rank of E-7, retired from the Navy - got a combat V on his Navy achievement medal - why on earth would he need to embellish all this and put his career all in jeopardy like that? I don't understand.
It's an indication of a Cluster-B personality disorder. Their ego is so fragile and self esteem so low real life will never be enough. Even Chris Kyle stole valor.
everyone ive ever met that was in vietnam was "special warfare" blah blah, they all jump out of planes, EOD etc. Every last one of em. My dad was a painter, the only honest guy. lol
He is a lonely old man! He learned people will talk to him longer if he tells stories about being a navy seal and being pow and all that. Its disgusting and there is no excuse for it! I have to also believe there is a little mental illness that plays a part as well. I strongly believe that is the case with this old man. Loneliness and mental illness…
Good point. Weirdly I actually met this dude about ten years ago in Cincinnati, I remember his face. He said he was considering investing in an art school downtown. There was a Budweiser on his luggage so I asked if he had been a SEAL, of course he said yes, but something about his patter didn't make sense. I knew enough to casually ask his BUDS class number and he said he couldn't remember. LOL Fraud.

My father was a ships radioman in the Navy during WW2. He served 8 years, as did his 2 brothers, and I can count on one hand the number of times he talked about it.
It is a shame....he had a good career...Vietnam etc.....even served in the Army beforehand.......I would been proud to have had his career.....what a Putz.............
I served in the Navy in Vietnam 70-71 for 7 months at Solid Anchor, I was never a Seal, but there were 2 platoons of Seals there, never knew about them before. Lived in the hootch next door to them and loved to hear stories of their ops. I was saddened when a Seal Lt on his second deployment was kia only a couple of weeks after his return in country. Keep up the good work, Don.

Go get them done! I was never a Seal, I served in the United States Air Force for 22 years.I have tremendous respect for Don Shipley, and his son, serving honorably. Thank you Senior Chief for exposing the lies of these men.
This guy deserves to be exposed to everyone he has ever fed this line of Bravo Sierra to. If he profits from a bogus book he should be prosecuted. I am a retired Navy Chief - not a SEAL. This disgraces all Chiefs and SEALS. I am not ashamed of my part in supporting the entire Navy.
This guy was SO secret, his classification of, “Vending Machine Technician, First Class,” remains classified with the CIA, FBI and Captain Kirk on the USS Enterprise. Spock doesn’t even know!
I looked up your name on the seal database, and it doesn't show anywhere here that you were in Navy seal. You were a famous star that was the main character in many great action films, and made Millions as well as acquired millions of fans. There's even a joke collection made about you. But as far as being a Navy seal, you are not coming up on the database. Care to explain that ?
Grandfather was in the Stukas in WWII, rear gunner, he was even at the origins of the weapons doctrine being established in 1936. Post war a guy in the next town said he was in the Stukas too claiming all this combat experience. My Grandfather knew that guy was lying and it was a point of contention for almost 4 decades. The Stuka force was small of 15,000 crews from 1939-1945 and people knew the commanders My Grandfather was also flight cadre for a year and knew what questions to ask the phony Grandfathers quote summed up the phony. "His ass never touched the runway".
My "Baby" Sister (about 40ish at the time) took up living with a guy who claimed to be a SEAL. He started talking about his time in Vietnam after asking me if I had spent time there (no, I didn't.) A good portion of what he shared did not add up. Add to that this is a very small town and I hadn't heard that this dude had even joined the Navy. As I couldn't prove he was lying I didn't challenge him. Sis moved out a few months later and admitted to me that she too thought he was lying. He passed away a couple of years later from Cancer. His obit in the local paper contained no information of military service. My own Shadow Box contains all eight of my Medals and the 3 rows of ribbons I earned. When asked I freely tell whoever askes "No, I am not a hero ... but I have had the honor of serving some." When thanked for my service (I wear my USN Retired cap almost everywhere) I normally reply "It was an honor to be able to serve" or words to that effect. Thank you for your service shipmate.
Here is the thing, I am sure he has plenty of true old Navy stories but for whatever reason he didn't think they were good enough. I guess.@@larrysnipes7113
Lmao 🤣 man I have nothing but respect for you going to terd hearding school and becoming an HT. I was an easy going SM back in my day. An undesignated airman who wanted out and became an SM.
Don, so you know I'm not bullshitting you, I served at SDVT1/ASDS platoon 1 from 00-03 as the platoon LCPO. Jim Emmert, Sandy Pigeon, Jeff Eggers and Chad Muse, hardest and best years of my 26.5 Naval career. When I see the angst in your face as you expose these "wannabes" my heart goes out for you. I was in an American Legion in Williamson, NY, with a retired SEAL (Charles Detmer) around 2020 and a older gentleman claimed to be a retired BTCS, when I "quizzed" him on a little BT technology he didn't know his ass from a hole in the ground! Chuck (SEAL) promptly escorted him to the exit, with a round of cheer! Keep up the great work, ETCS SS/SW M.K.Chapman USN Ret.
I’m with you how any person would believe that story is beyond me !! Had to cut a guys arm off to keep him from drowning !! Sharks won’t bite you oh yeah how about that young female surfer who’s arm was bite off by a Tiger shark !! Plus so many others that have been killed by sharks !!
What, you’ve never shouted at a man-eating shark and scared it away? I could tell you some stories about that, but it’s all classified. My records are locked in the president’s desk for one hundred years, and I’m not even an American.
Barracuda are dangerous though, when I was in GITMO they told us to remove dog tags, rings, anything shiny before swimming because the cuda go for that kind of thing, but that guy is so full of crap.
Hahahahaha! Barracuda in a hole that bit a man’s arm so bad they had to amputate… I’m a diver and spear fisher. I hunt barracuda and I’ll tell you this much, barracudas don’t live in “holes” in the ocean 😂 sharks operate on smell and by touch primarily… they see just fine underwater. His story is complete horseshit!
Thank you for your service and the attention you bring. My grandfather was a captain in the US Navy. He served in Korea in Vietnam. I’m sure he served in other war zones as well, but he passed away when I was four from Agent Orange. His flagship or the ship he was stationed on was the Missouri. His job was to pool the Marines off of the shoreline in Vietnam while they were under heavy fire. I wish I knew more about him and his military career. I have his dog tags tattooed on me. His military medals, his flag that was shot up on his boat and several photos along with newspaper articles… As a S. A. L. Thank you again. Oh, and my grandfather’s name was Ronald Lee Brooks I believe he retired in 71 or 72

Sounds like the scene in the movie the deep....where the guy sticks his arm in the hole in the hull of the sunken ship and the Moray eel grabs ahold of his arm and wont let go.
Well, apparently you were not Air Force. That was covered in our 1st week of schooling at Shepard AFB. Of course we were taught how to do it with a P-38 just in case a scalpel & bone saw were not available. LOL
If you ever answer the phone and on the other end you hear "it's Don Shipley"...just say "Yes, I'm a freaking liar..." I retire from the Navy in 8 days. The last thing I would do is smear my good name, our Navy, or our Chief's mess by claiming to be a SEAL. Keep up the good work Brother!
I'm sorry Mr.Shipley, that you have to go through this again and again and again. I'm sure it must feel like it's getting old at times. You are the one man, who has taken all of the weight of this endeavor onto your shoulders. It is an honorable thing that you do. You stand up for the honor of your comrades against the dishonor being perpetrated against them, by malevolent men who attempt to steal their honor for themselves. Therefore, your service to the nation has continued long passed your retirement from the Navy. May God bless you and keep you and all you love forever in his heart.
Because most Navy Personnel are either Cooks, Janitors, or Mechanics. That's why so many of the Fakes turn out to have been Navy and why so many that embellish are former Navy. Along with the Air Force, it's the service path most likely to end up with a Mundane Blue Collar Job while serving...but at least Air Force has the benefit of not sharing bunks with other dudes and has a reputation for intelligence. It's the Nature of that Branch. Army and Marines you are a lot more likely to see combat or at least have what kids would see as a "Cool Job".
@@justinlast2lastharder749 I guess I was in a different Navy than the one you describe. What you describe bears little resemblance to what I experienced. There's no rating for janitor for one thing. And the supply department is relatively small compared to engineering and operations. Perhaps you should have watched different movies to learn stuff. Yeah, ground troops do face combat more frequently than do sailors. This is a feature not a bug, along with three hots and a cot every day. Soldiers and Marines make up tales too. But most of the fakes never served at all.
@@janerkenbrack3373We are talking about people not having enough stories to tell to impress without making them up. Most Navy stories are entertaining/humorous stories rather than "Im a Badass"...unless it is a Seal. It's the nature of the Branch, there is very little beyond Pilot, Officer, and Seal that offers individual achievement making you the badass hero. Its a group effort to do things and most of the tasks are mundane tasks regardless. Meanwhile, to the Average Person, even a normal combat patrol with a minor skirmish sounds "cool" to normies...so Army and Marines are less likely to have to go to the length of embellishing "Special Forces" to tell tales that make them seem badass. "We were on patrol, I had my M4 Kitted out, we heard there was an enemy presence..." Is a compelling individual story even if it ends up "and we encountered nothing, but boy it was a tense atmosphere" type thing. Just think about Vietnam. Troops were in the Jungles fighting Charlie on some on some Full Metal Jacket shit...while Navy like this dude were on support boats and exaggerate that they were in "the Shit" too. Everyone has impersonators and embellishers from actual service members, they just do it in different ways. Army is most likely to lie about confirmed kills. Marines are most likely to say they didn't eat the red crayon again, they didn't pay for companionship, or how it totally wasn't him they saw walking into the adult theater last night...There's different things they lie about is what im saying...
I am a retired united states space force marine, spent years up in that shuttle doing my thing. We were stuck up there without toiletpaper one time for 5 weeks. It was pretty tough jumping out of that flying Abrams that the CIA commissioned from the Coast guard reserve unit. But the French foreign legion saw my karate history and hired me to train their men to fight in the Somme.
This Navy vet's claim to have been a POW has tarnished his service. He was a Chief Petty Officer and served in the Vietnam war. There's no reason for him to lie about his service. He's an insecure narcissist looking for attention. I'm a lifetime member of the VFW, but I'm a member at large. I would get pissed if I went to a VFW bar and some phony started telling me stories about being a POW. I've already met a phony Ranger who claimed to have been in the 82nd airborne in the Vietnam war, and he claimed that he went up Hamburger Hill 3 times(He told me he joined the US Army in 1972 and that's why I know he's full of crap).

I got a NAM, with the V, and I was never in combat. How can you have a whole career in the Navy and not have enough actual stories to pass around without making up BS?
Because most Navy Personnel are either Cooks, Janitors, or Mechanics. That's why so many of the Fakes turn out to have been Navy and why so many that embellish are former Navy.
@@janerkenbrack3373 No rating for janitor? Its called BM. LOL.
9:30 him missin every casual "oh well i hope you go to hell" is almost serial . am i mishearin it or is don actually sayin that over and over ? 😂😂😂
His memory is fading…. All seals were required to attend Vending Machine School to maintain the Beer Machines loaded with BUDS.
Im not even kidding I was rewatching ones I've seen probably twice already today and then a new one drops, Don never fails to impress me
"finish your beer sir"
Don then sips either a bloody Mary, or V8 juice, hard to tell. LoL love the videos
Definitely a Bloody Mary. Mrs. Shipley has the recipe on her channel.
@@ahvaveeshe makes a mean bloody Mary I've been lucky enough to drink a few of them.
I am a retired united states space force marine, spent years up in that shuttle doing my thing. We were stuck up there without toiletpaper one time for 5 weeks. Spent most of my time doing recon missions for trump and elon about how to get these damn rockets working properly, and let me tell you the audacity of this guy to lie this like this gets my blood boiling!
WTF
Bejezzus this guy cant quit, and i respect it!
Life lesson: never leave a drunk voicemessage.
That charles guy should have been proud of his service.
I just ran into another vet that claimed to be a Command Sgt. Major..I asked to see his retired ID card, and he refused to show it. OK...whatever, dude.
It is possible he just doesn’t feel he needs to show it to everyone that asks.
@@ryanb1314 - It is possible. It is MORE possible that he's lying. I have known MANY senior NCO's..hell, I was one. This clown has as much chance of being a retired E-9 as Donald Trump.
Good on you calling him out.
@@dennissvitak5475 Show us your ID or BS.
I was a SGT major in 82nd airborne but I had a bad jump and it knocked me down to an e4 when I hit the ground.
The 101st Airborne was in battle on hamburger hill. The 82nd Airborne never served in Vietnam (to the best of my knowledge) but served in the Dominican Republic in '65.
Untreated VD once it travels into the brain and starts eating things away.....This Chief Petty Officer's crap happens.
@@robertscheinost179 Yes, the guy telling me he went up Hamburger Hill 3 times was full of crap. He had a 'Recondo' sticker on the back of his car too. Recondo school ended in 1971. The guy told me he served from 1972-1977 in the 82nd airborne. I read a few books about Rangers in the Vietnam war such as Recondo by Larry Chambers and LRRP Team Leader by John Burford. That's why I knew the guy was full of crap when he claimed to be Recondo after joining the US Army in 1972. These phonies must be everywhere.
Dude I spent 8 years in army infantry and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard active service members in uniform standing there lying their ass off about things that never happened while we were deployed. It happens so much. I had a squad leader in Iraq who was a total tool. He wanted a CIB so bad he claimed we were being shot at and kicked through a sliding glass door and cut his leg so bad he couldn’t walk. He put us all at risk for nothing and he got a Purple Heart for that bullshit.
3rd brigade of 82nd Airborne served in Vietnam
Imagine getting a phone call from Don Shipley….to discuss your “service” in the Navy SEALS 😂😂😂
