A lot of people can sing Riffs/Runs, but many have trouble applying them to actual SONGS when appropriate. This brief explanation and exercise will help your conceptual understanding of how modern improvisation works.
Sing a basic pentatonic sequence on each Major Scale degree and APPLY it to "Do a Deer" from the Sound of Music!

Natural singer since a child, just now taking it more serious, I literally jam this song in my car 💀 been singing along with him & after a few tries, I’ve noticed results, & I’m actually learning my voice now.

How do you do a clean run? Like when I do runs they sound like I’m falling down a ladder instead of stepping on each step lol. It sounds all jumbled up it doesn’t sound like I’m hitting each note clearly and then going to the next one really fast. Thank u!
Sounds to me like you’re dealing with note separation! Many struggle with this. Paul covers that well in this video and shows a good exercise to work with just that.

Have you tried incorporating vibrato? Vibrato will is the keu to make your slide down like stopping on in-between notes quickly
@@okebaram I guess I’m so focused on trying to do the run I don’t really focus on my vibrato much. It’s good to know that that’s something I should pay attention to. thank you for the tip! 😃

How can I sign up for online lessons with you ASAP!!! I'm a great singer songwriter and performer but I'm self taught and need to work on my runs and some breath support training
What if I don’t have enough wind to finish a run? I have wind for 6 bars instead of 8. I’ve always been short winded even when I practice using less air.
Try speeding up the video using the RUclips settings.
It will make the riff faster, but it could help you to get through the exercise without running out of breath.
