  • In this WH 40K Rogue Trader SECRET COLONY video I show you how to make sure NOT to miss out on the Foulstone colony. This is one of five colonies in Rogue Trader and if you make the wrong decision you will permanently miss out on the colony and fail to complete a quest. Dont make the same mistake I made TWICE.

If you pick the wrong reward, very easily. The game does not tell you there is only one way to get the planet. The little “story” you play out is not much different from others that give much less significant rewards. I literally missed it on my first two playthroughs. If you’re enticed by the hammer reward (in beta it actually gave you two high end hammers instead)

      I did because i wanted hammer :(

You are one of the few who make good content about this game, keep it up. Thank you

I love the amount of salt this colony generates. The entire point of being a successful Rogue Trader is being able to pass up instant gratification for greater rewards down the line, you must have this mentality. In this case you're giving up an entire planet for a hammer and some people are crying because they can't put aside their "ooooh shiny!" mentality. Hilariously this also perfectly demonstrates why they would be terrible Rogue Traders.

Clickbait. Nothing more. And very fat one that is. The word "secret" does it all...

@NeoIsrafil yes the age old dilemma a colony or a hammer.

Opportunity cost, not all players have to see and unlock everything. It's always been this way in cRPGs, it's only the modern ones that let you loot and discover everything there is in a single playthrough, no matter the decisions the rewards have to be the same, I'm glad that some of the indie devs came back to the more oldschool design where you can fuck yourself and miss out content/rewards if you do something differently (vide Pathfinder, Age of Decadence, Colony Ship, Underrail, Atom, and many others)

@adammusia9527 i think the issue is that there is nothing that tells you that you get a colony. The other option is just that a normal conversation pick vs getting a cool item. If the 1st choice said like the 2nd get a colony it would be better.

Its probably due to the games use of old english (is there a term for that?) for what i have Heard. When i read the text i never thought it was unclear.
The people cant stop bashing their Heads in (literally). To stop this they are ok if you kill some of them as long as you put them all under your protection. Take them under your wing.
The answers are directly responding with 'this is mine now' and 'it could be mine but no thanks i' d rather take the fancy hammer '.
But yeah this game has many Things that are less then optimal design wise. My biggest enemy is still finicky and overloaded UI.

Wrong. You can still get the colony if you choose option number 1. It will give you an option to resolve the conflict peacefully netting you some Iconoclast points.

Please... the iconoclast choice is better and you cant lose the colony.

Unless you’re trying to max out dogmatic score or want to role play that way. I haven’t played iconoclast yet so haven’t tested

You can pass more checks and make it so everyone wins. I think those choices expend some supplies. Its things like this is why my commissar character is 60/40 dogmatic iconoclast and in act 4 I still have not got to dogmatic level 3.
