You can equip the higher combat rating gear and just essence transfer back to whatever you want lol! I will sometimes sacrifice 1 or 2 combat rating to gain willpower and fortitude
When I just started 4 or 5 days ago, I had so much trouble figuring out extraction and inheritance on my own.
Wish I had found a video like this sooner. It would have put me at least 3 days farther ahead. Some other YTers talk about it, but not in as much detail.
Also, from another video, they confirmed that invocation and cursed can never appear on the same item...can only choose one or the other.
Blizzard doesn't explain the game very efficiently, and in most cases, completely lacks information all together. In the last 3 months, 90% of this game, I learned on my own, simply because there was no info online, or on RUclips. And the very few RUclips videos that do exist are either confusing because they failed to edit the video properly, or as you mentioned, they dont explain in detail, which I try my best to do. Ok that's good to know about the invocation and cursed. Least we now we know.

I've been away on vacation for 2 months, so I haven't played since then but I'm sure a lot has changed. But yes, I know what you mean. That's infuriating when that happens. Such a well balanced game. Not. Lol
Just want to clarify that CR doesn't mean it's better, CR doesn't really mean anything except for hitting soft caps for whatever specific content you're doing.
But your chest has double arrows because the CR was higher AND the attributes were higher (it shows arrows next to the attributes).
I want to say, that is unless you already know,, that the up arrows don't always mean it is an upgrade. The up arrows are based on the gear score. If an item has the same combat rating and same stats but has different magic properties it could get a higher gear score. This means that it won't boost your stats or cr at all. That is unless you are just looking for a piece that has better magic properties.
In Diablo Immortal I will always be chasing after more cr till I get into the highest difficulty which is inferno 6. When I have around 1,000-1500 more cr than inferno 6 then I won't worry about CR unless Blizz adds more challenge rifts that needs a higher cr than what I would be looking for.
The front part of the video says nothing about inheriting. Don't dare use inherit, which means don't dare use upgrades unless you find the exact piece that has the legendary property that you want. That is insanity imo, I will equip all things that I look at as upgrades.
Cant you change in essence transfer to anything you prefer. Choose best properties on gear you desire with essence transfer

Can you make a video on how to remove the ancestral weapon full of 7 or 8 empty cells? I only have 4 ancestral weapon slots.
I get holding onto a good piece but you also have to move forward or you will not have enough CR to get into the next difficulty level. Cry and powder.
Thanks watched the entire video just now.. I was under the impression RE: Extract/Inherit Essence that it was possible to add the LEGENDARY attribute onto another piece of gear in the same category. IE: Gear (A) looks cooler let's put Gear (B) legendary (special effect) onto GEAR A and KEEP GEAR A but i guess after watching this THAT ISNT possible correct?
Hey thanks for watching. Due to the recent changes it's a bit outdated, but the method itself is generally the same.
No, unfortunately not. Attributes on Legendary gear are randomly generated upon identifying and are non-transferable sadly. This is why we have to consider carefully if the new piece of gear is really worth equipping.
Here's what I do. If the new piece of gear is more than 5 Combat Rating or higher than the piece I want to switch it out with, then definitely swap it. Because you see in PVE, the main focus is on gaining the highest Combat Rating possible, so ignore the properties (Attributes on the gear) for now.
There is one exception to this: If you already have, or acquire new Eternal Legendary gear and it has good magical attributes that buff any of your equipped skills but new piece of gear is not more than 5 Combat rating higher. I would stick with the Eternal gear to get those extra buffs, and wait till you find a higher piece of Legendary with anything greater than 5 points difference.
To me this is not worth the sacrifice to lose extra buffs, if we choose to equip a new piece of when its 5 or less combat rating higher than the one currently equipped. Hope that makes sense. I have some new content planned for the next week starting tomorrow, so I will make a video on this to better explain it. As far as I know, I've never seen any videos on this topic, so stay tuned.
@BatztheGamer Thanks for the reply! I just started playing again. That kinda sucks we can't add a special legendary power effect we like from one piece of gear to another thar looks cooler. What this means is we are "stuck with" gear that's less cool looking if we wish to keep it. And some are cool like Phantom Ray, or Arcane Orb (for Wizard). So essentially what actually is being transferred is randomly generated stats equivalent to the gear we inherit from the one with better stats. Nice one DI.
U can see on items frame if it is cursed gear or not and have the properties or not..
Yes. I didn't actually realize that either until after a few weeks of playing. Blizzards laziness of explaining these details is beyond ridiculous 🤣

So are the levels always multiples of 5? For gear Or five levels from your current one. Lets say 903 to 908 or would it be 903 to 905 then open for example?
Exactly correct.
There was a post in the comments, that stated it doesn't matter if a player waits every 5 levels and that it's stupid to wait.
I'm not saying they were wrong but it's a fact that when I didn't wait, the identified gear was never better than what I had on. Only till I waited did I then get better gear.
So I have magic missiles now boosted from 20 to 26% , if you inherit over and over and the scrap for the same essence, I think you can make it stronger, can anyone confirm or deny this mechanic in the game?
Thanks for watching. I'm not sure I fully understand the question. In my 17 months of playing, I've never heard anyone, or ever read anything mentioning that, I don't know the answer to to that one. What I can say is, be cautious with extracting the same essence multiple times. I've had to do it quite a few times because the armory lost/messed up my builds. After re-inheriting, I lost significant points in CR and secondary attributes so be careful. I'm on PC version, so I cant confirm if this also happens for mobile users.
This is why I only have 2 builds now. 1 PVP loadout and 1 PVE Loadout. I use my current PVE build for all Open World Farming, Raids, Dungeons, Lairs, Tower Farming etc. I had a special Trial of Hordes build that was really efficient and I had a good win streak because of it, but the armory recently destroyed it, so I never rebuilt it due to the Essence extraction thing. 🙄
This video was extremely hard to follow for a couple of concepts that seemed fairly intuitive. In the future, I would consider scripting your info before presenting it. You also seemed very unsure about your delivery, so the information given sounded incorrect even if it was, in fact, correct.
where to farm leg items i just swapped my blood demon to a crusader
Just play and farm casually. I changed class to BK two weeks ago, 15 more essence more to go then i reach lvl 4 mastery essences. All the hard grinder got all their essence and max out mastery lvl in 1-2weeks.
